That was a really good video. Haven't been to a postcard show yet so it is good to see what to expect. I have two of the Titanic cards. The one to look for are the ones that says 1,300 not 1,500 died. Some of the printers rushed into printing them before they had the final tally of how many people passed away.
I heard about this variant a while ago. I need to look for one
Nice finds, I ventured out to a couple of postcard fairs last year, slightly daunting not knowing values but I stuck to the staple names, picked up some WG Grace, a nice Monroe with a popping red dress & some soccer stuff. Those Titanic cards were great.
Please make more content like this :) it was so good and so epic! :)
It was fun so I’ll be making more
I once bought a stack of vintage Christmas post cards for 10 cents each. At the time I thought it would be fun to send them out to family and friends over the holiday's, instead of the usual boring, new/modern cards. One of the cards in the lot had writing on the back so I couldn't use it. I tossed it into a box and didn't see it again until MANY years later when I was packing to move. I finally took a minute to read the back. It was hand written and signed by the founder of the American Red Cross, Clara Barton!
Man what a find
Looks like a cool show. Thanks for sharing. Which 5 do you need so I can keep an eye peeled.
If you look to move any of the Franklin items, let me know on here or Twitter. Thanks.
Not moving any atm and honestly looking for upgrades so if any in nice shape I’ll take a look at
What a great video. Show footage, pickups, reference book, commentary. Top notch.
Thank you
People say the Portland (OR) show is great. At a stamp/coin show, It took me hours to go thru one box. I did find some Heisel's Gum cards, but that's it for cards.
Man I’ve never been up to the pacific NW for a show. I want to hit up some trails if I do go
@@BreakoutCards virtually no card shows except WA state.
That was a great collection. Enjoyed it very much!
Thanks!
Nice pickups! I really enjoy the Minnesota show. Does the Pee Wee Reese have a gray back? The originals have a cream colored back. I did a video last year, on Exhibits and what to look for in fakes.
Stonewall Jackson is also in the Lefty Grove postcard. Ha Ha!
Haha multiple of his cards
I didn't mean to call you out on the Pee Wee Reese, just wondering if it was an original with a cream color back. The video made the first one look like a gray back which is a known reprint.
Not sure this was so long ago
@@BreakoutCards No problem.
Are any of the Washington stuff for sale
No sorry
As an older collector, I have to admit that I chuckled at your inability to read cursive. (Sorry, man.) I can tell you that nobody famous sent or received those cards.
Ye, I translated them with an app and looked up the names. No luck
if there is a "list" for those three 1908 Stollwerks, please put me on it :)
I am really enjoying your videos, thank you for being cool and sharing... so many new discoveries. Awesome.
Thank you!
Dodger Stadium card: Hi Jack: I haven't heard from you in a long time. Are you ok? Hope I hear from you soon. I am fine. Things going along well. I hope all is good with you. Good luck with your fishing. Catch a big one! Lots of Love, Kay.
Man I had no idea they have designated postcard shows. I need to find one! I have that 1940's Uncle Sam baseball postcard and unfortunately SGC won't grade it. You found some really good cards there.
thank you and sadly niche cards never get graded its a shame, bc there is a demographic of die hard collectors who want their cards graded
@@BreakoutCards LOL I'm one of them!
Great postcards. Looks like they do have some sports. Love the old football postcards, pretty cheap stuff too. Wish I could have gone. Next time!
Always another show! There are smaller ones in Fl
so you are telling me to go to postcard shows?!
If you want to
Harvard card (a lot harder to read): What a pleasant surprise your unique (???) At day he entertains visitors. At morn (???) an at eve (???) he is the source of my light. With long (???) he labors to uphold the college colors. I admire the gentleman. A few minutes ago, a strange voice called up and asked me (???) cook's address. The banquet last night was a great success. Bob
