Fantastic video,I don't have a market garden but do a lot of vegetable and flower gardening and found quite a few helpful tips. Your area looks absolutely beautiful I can see that you have put a lot of work into restoring your farm. I am always humbled when growers like yourself take time out of their busy schedules to help gardeners like me. Thank so much.
He is great. I also recommend channels like Epic Gardening, Self Sufficient Me, Charles Dowding, and Urban Farmer Curtis Stone. There are so many more, but I suspect the UA-cam algorithm will take you through them as you go. 😂
@@canwenot573 All I have seen so far are men as the main person running the farm. I need to learn from a women's point of view running the farm. I do think that anyone can do this but it does help to get tips from women's point of view as what works for men may not exactly work for women. 🙋hello new subscriber here from Philippines. Wanted to start a small farm but know nothing about planting 😂 I'm so gratefulful that I found and learn a lot from this channel of urs. 😊
short concise and very well done! I'm a seasoned market garden farmer. This video is a great info for anyone who wants to start a market garden. I agree with all the points and tool suggestions. Jang seeder is probably the best all around. 6 point seeder from Johnny's is good but requires very clean seed bed. I would recommend Jang over Johnny's because you can handle different sizes with optional plates. Highly recommend!! Best 18 minutes for those wanting to start.
Thank you for the kind words! I agree with the seeder suggestion. The Jang is really versatile and not much experience needed to use. The 6-row definitely takes a bit of practice and good bed preparation!

Hi Moreno! New sub, I am overwhelmed by your gardening techniques you have learned your lessons very well! It's exciting to watch, learn your talents! My 24'x58' is a bed of rocks here in Washington state left by glaciers from Mt. Rainier. I have picked so many rocks it actually lowered the original height of garden bed. Yet I have had successful crops, this is my second year. Now the moles need to be removed! Always something going after my vegetables! I use natural Neem oil and natural dish soap. Still I cannot grow any brassicas they go to seed garden soil gets so hot(rocks) or white moths lay there eggs. Same with growing corn, rats from neighbor farms climb stalks and eat the kernels. Rocks really increase the soil temp and seeds won't sprout. But it's all fun and gardening becomes a habit that I enjoy. Thank You Again Moreno for such great videos!

Hey Tanja, thank you! The commercial side of things determine whether the farm is a viable business or not. Therefore I try to keep hammering on that aspect! Take care :)
Probably not gonna use any of it any time soon, but wow this is really some quality material. No bullshitting, just information in a really nice speed. It's even entertaining whilst not using it haha!
Great review of basic tools. I have most of these but will be adding to them. I am looking at the wheel hoe since it can be expanded with add on tools. Looking forward to your next video.
Thanks Bruce. Yes the wheel hoe seems to be a pretty good tool. We don't have it though. Pathways are mulched and in between the crops I just use the precision weeders I mentioned. 👍
I like the wheel hoe because you can add the seeder attachment and the finger seeders for doing rows. Those I need to research more. The versatility is what has me interested. Will let you know what I find out.
Well they do have the seeder attachment. They don’t have finger tine weepers but you can get a spreader bar and attach the mini cultivator arms to. They can be set to cultivate in between the rows you have set. Got to do some more research but looks like a time saver for direct seed beds like carrots
Thanks for sharing! Its always nice to watch people working close to nature. I am also planning farming in Pakistani during next 3-6 months and surely will benefit from friends. Blessings
