Finishing the game I realized why Korsica's bossfight is all confined to parrying her attacks. It would break continuity a bit too much if I summoned Korsica to stall Korsica.
The joke of Korsica complaining about the coffee is one of my favorites, because it pulls double duty. It's funny in its own right, as a jab at modern "smart" tech, but it's also a brick joke set up like an hour in advance, because you can find that a robot in R&D intentionally pushed a firmware update to cause the coffee machines to put out decaf.
It throws me off how she's both cute and cool at the same time... Like... Badass and at times really adorable. With her banter, her jokes and if you noticed, she was pulled really easily along with Chai. Like high-fiving and everything.
While she's working for Vanderlay her portrait faces left, away from the rest of the shot. After she's laid off, her portrait faces right, towards the shot. There's a concept in cinematography that a subject facing the rest of the image has direction, we can see where the subject is going, and directs the focus to that spot, while facing off camera does the opposite respectively. Knowing this, we can interpret her portrait switching sides as her finding focus and direction, but it can also be a pun on "switching to the right side."
The password joke is so underrated. The fact it's established that, as the head of Security, Korsica memorized her password to avoid any security leaks and even sprawled around her level are messages on the sides of the walls saying "Reminder to change your login password every 48 minutes to avoid security leaks" just to be revealed at the end of the game, when Peppermint inputs all of the boss passwords, that her password was just "PASSWORD" sends me into fucking hysterics.
You also have to remember the password is most likely not set by Korsica herself but rather Kale, who is lazy and doesn’t care enough about security lol
I just got banned from an university for changing careers 5 times, when is only legal to do it 2 times... I keep getting emails that say i need to complete my career change every month lol
The game is pretty much spoiled for me. But gotta say the story character dynamics and world is top notch. Not sure if I'm a rhythm guy though. Never played. Shame I play on Sony.
That might be my favorite joke in the game. It's so dumb that they wouldn't think to remove her, but its established that the leadership is incompetent and lazy anyway so it still makes sense, and it helps conveniently explain how the gang knows what the bad guys are up to in a way that's funnier than Peppermint or Macaron just hacking it or something. And I love the way it gets reinforced later with "I got another email, man they *really* should fix that!"

She's supposed to be the head of Security, with the explicit detail that she memorizes all her passwords, making it seem like it would have been impossible to crack the code without getting her to reveal it. Her high-profile security clearance password for the super secret ai project just being "PASSWORD" is brilliant because it throws everything you thought you knew about Korsica into question and you're literally at the end of the game.
I worked security for 4 years. Pretty much every security place I worked just had password or something nearby written with the password for computers. Most of the time you are just there to respond to emergencys and delegate responses. It's more administrative then being a cop.
4:10 this scene was the first thing that introduced me to Hi-Fi Rush. Someone had posted this clip and it was reccomended to me, and thats when i learned of this masterpiece of a game.
Don't forget that Korsika must join to the team because she doesn't use a key, but a password, which is "password". Prety fun if you think that is a easy password.

I'd say him having cartoon character level durability is one of the lesser surprising things he has.
3:37 Fun Fact: in one of the lore tidbits, you can read the last works of a maintenance robot who knows he's about to be fired and shut down, even though he's helped keep everything running for years. As his revenge, he decides to, with the last of his power over things, send out a firmware update for all the coffee machines in the whole facility, that makes them ONLY give decaff. This lore tidbit is before korsica gives the line.

If you look deeper than that coffee machine not working is way bigger thing than you think. There was an entire conspiracy by the robots unsatisfied with Kale taking over and they decided to disable coffee machines so they give only decaf. Funny thing is that Korsica not having coffee is suspected to be main reason for her switching sides.
Korsica was the only one who got into Vandelay through her own hard work and grit while everyone else got to be bosses through simply just being Kale's friends

Haha, you kind of have a point. Peter was conceived as a relatable everyman at first, so he should look like the majority of the population. He became a put-upon hero after realizing what happens when you turn the other way. You could argue that he and Chai are the same character, except Chai is a bit goofier.

Maybe it was the Armstrong augmentations Chai had. Korsica lacked any cibernetics before the explosion, so i'd imagine he's more durable somehow.
Chai's stupidity acted as a sort of barrier for him

Chai has musical rhythm powers that come from an mp3 player in his chest and allowing him to fight, parry and push back heavy ass robots and giant mecha using a guitar made from scrap and held with magnetics. I'd say him having cartoon character level durability is one of the lesser surprising things he has.

There was an entire conspiracy by the robots unsatisfied with Kale taking over and they decided to disable coffee machines so they give only decaf.
Funny thing is that Korsica not having coffee is suspected to be main reason for her switching sides.
