    Hi guys! this is a pure tutoria videol, a bit theoretical.
    maybe it may seem a bit boring, but this part is very important for the realization of the organ. I hope you enjoy and find it useful.
    In the next videos of the series it will be pure construction, we will have fun!

    Thank you!!! Finally a design/build video that delves into the design theory with a hands on build. I’ve been wandering around UA-cam searching for this information for literally years.
    Thanks again!!

    THANK YOU - this is a perfect start to my build. Man, it really puts into perspective the brilliance of the first organ builders - and they did it probably by trial & error. It would be nice if the calculations were available in a spreadsheet somewhere!

    • @nippocast
      @nippocast  4 роки тому +3

      Hi John, 2' is the lenght of the stop, in this case 2' principal. The additional 6 inches determines at what point the pipes are halved in diameter, can be more or less, it depends on how much the pipes have to scale. Thanks!

    Hey, thank you for making all these videos, they have been the most helpful videos and references I've come across so far related to organ building. I'm still at the process of creating the mouths and widths for my building, but I'm still a bit confused on how to read this graph. Can you please help me out? I'm interested to make CC tenor pipes. So how can I follow this diagram to find it if I don't know the frequency of each pipe?

    • @nippocast
      @nippocast  2 роки тому

      Hi Nicolina, Thanks! the frequency of the CC pipe is 65 Hz.
      Normally for open pipes at the pressure of 50mmH2o the mouth is about 30mm high, for closed pipes about 36mm
      I recommend starting from a slightly lower height.

    I am quite enjoying this series. I have subscribed. I'm curious, though, as to why the divisions between each C are of equal spacing--shouldn't they be logarithmic (i.e. twelfth root of two apart from each other)? Maybe this is a different tuning?

    • @nippocast
      @nippocast  4 роки тому +2

      Hi Nicholas, Thanks for the question. there are more methods to scale the pipes, and in fact currently the system you say is mainly used. What you see in the video is a system that was commonly used until the 19th century and I chose this one, with this system the lenght of the pipes is abundant and must then be adjusted. the tuning is unrelated to this measurement and will be Pythagorean

    What and how did you make the measurements to obtain the 40mm of water pressure?

    • @nippocast
      @nippocast  3 роки тому

      I hypothesized it, in this video it is explained ua-cam.com/video/C8X6kzP8GCE/v-deo.html Then, testing the bellows, I saw that 30mm in a water column was a more plausible pressure for a manual portative organ

    Buon pomeriggio GianMaria, come hai calcolato la dimensione del primo blocco, 35 x 40 mm? Puoi usare la stessa tabella per costruirne una principale? Grazie mille

    • @nippocast
      @nippocast  Рік тому +1

      Ciao Sergio, se ho capito bene la domanda... un conto è la sclatura delle varie canne che possono avere il dimezzamento alla 16°, 17°, 18° canna etc. un conto è la taglia. Quindi in base al tipo di registro che si vuole ottenere si deciderà prima di tutto le dimensioni e le proporzioni, profondità\larghezza del primo blocco, e poi a che canna ci sarà il dimezzamento. Fare una tabella unica diventa molto difficile.

    • @sergiobotardo7951

    Salve, grazie per il tutorial, molto interessante. Le chiedo se fosse possibile di istruirmi/istruire il web su come è giunto a questi dati, sia il calcolo che ha portato all'altezza delle bocche e della luce, come anche le linee che ha tracciato, che a loro volta hanno determinato la sezione interna della canna. Suppongo che queste dimensioni cambieranno in funzione del registo che si necessita di costruire, con questo intendo che mi aspetterei delle linee che genererebbero una sezione stretta per i registri violeggianti e una sezione larga per i registri flautati. Nel frattempo nuovamente grazie e complimenti.

    • @nippocast
      @nippocast  Рік тому +1

      Ti ringrazio del messaggio, la risposta è piuttosto complessa, una cosa è la scala della canna che può appunto essere più grande o piccola in sezione, un'altra è la scalatura. Un altro discorso complesso è il dimensionamento di bocca e luce che come giustamente dice è legato al tipo di registro. Per questo motivo sto preparando una serie di brevi video dedicati ognuno ad un diverso argomento teorico.
