I agree that the content feels "dated", and that clearly is because the talent system issues delayed this stuff and it really is a shame that they a) announced any of it before they knew they had something good, and b) didn't scrap the talent content sooner so the two year drought was either shorter or we got this when OW"2" was "released". Doesn't excuse the decision to move so much staff to the PvE content to the point that caused the two year drought, and I would say this content is only worth $10 at most. Sorry guys, but had PvE actually been ready for launch, OW2 would almost certainly not have been free2play, that announcement happened so late it was simply a byproduct of them knowing they couldn't put a shelf price on the game we eventually got, which was nothing more than a glorified update patch, not a sequel. What worries me is the price of $15 for this and for future sets is that they may only have 3-4 of them planned out. Hopefully I'm wrong, but indefinite PvE content at $15 a pop will have a drastic purchase drop off rate and they'll end up abandoning the story content because the income from it is too low, its the risk of episodic content with a price tag. I think the bulk of the originally planned story is already complete, but until they know there is a good amount of income, I doubt they'll actually get started on anything beyond what was intended for the original launch. With the negativity around Blizzard these past 3-5 years, I think its very likely that even with this obnoxious price point none of this content will make enough money to justify itself, which really sucks because the money from skins and the Battle Pass should really factor in to that decision, but there is no way to suits at ABK or even Microsoft will be happy with money being spent on something that can't pay for itself.
Except for the fact they could not shut down ow1 if they charged for ow2.. I would have loved to pay for the game and have no battlepass, shop and hero missions... In fact.. For just A FEW skins... imagine for the complete game.. xD And the PVE underdelivery just considered how the delivery was done compared to promised... And the trickery of letting people buy the game in the beginning.. Getting absolute 0 for it... It´s just sad all around for us mature audience that really enjoyed ow1. I have thousands of hours of ow gameplay... so let´s say a mission is 30 minutes of it. We´re not even talking a dollar of gameplay value. Volskya industries would have a crazy mission because that is where we first saw the giant mechs (titans)
I love the entire OW dev team. If it weren’t for some very impatient management then this game could be even better. These story missions have fully met my expectations. Other than the skill tree, it’s everything I could ask for and even a bit more. This is to the level I expected an OW story mode to be. I’ve always seen the PVE missions in OW1 to be full on story missions and these are as good. They even have good animated cutscenes. So as far as the devs go, I give this a solid Zenyatta/Omnicus Prime!
Imagine if they did this story stuff while the game was still good and how much people would have loved it. New hero comes out? Playable mission to introduce them. New season? Mission that changes the state of the world or some new threat
There are easter eggs like pachmari backpacks to the left of this area during escape. 5:31 If you have the music disabled you can even hear the catchamari theme playing on the ship. In the second mission there are various coffee cups spread out through out and you can buy a ticket from the train station terminal seen here which is lit up and still functional. 11:41 One coffee cup can be found here at the tables 11:20 One can even see what they look like here. A starbucks coffee cup with sip lid 11:44. They are fun little things that add to the experience. There are also a bunch of explosive barrels that can be used for additional damage. With Iron clad I did not find anything yet and am still looking. I assume they are all visual easter eggs but I believe they have interactive ones like the previous ones do. I'll keep looking. Great video I had fun hearing how much you loved the story in this. 💛❤🐑
Its 5€/$ for 2h gamplay that you can repeat. Its not the best deal, but also far from the worst - if you want to buy tor 10€/$ 1000 Coins (enough for the Seasonpass) too. Yes it only sells in a bundle.
I think the developers did good for trying to give a PvE mode. Blame Activision Blizzard for scrapping the initial plan, could have poured their resources into the PvE instead of releasing a new CoD every year.
Evenr if we didnt get the PvE content we were promised I think the cinematics that went into carrying this game really helped out. The missions are decent if you like first person shooters but there have been a few bugs with enemies glitching out here and there. Overall id say its worth $15 but unless it gets much better from here I dont think ill be buying anymore of the chapters.
Still bummed that the pve is degraded to this instead of what was promised initially. Maybe if the developers were given more resources or time to give what the community wants or the game was focused as a PvE add-on to Overwatch 1 instead of an updated version, the game would be much better at launch and the initial PvE idea would never have to be shelfed. The fault's on Activision Blizzard, not the devs. The cutscenes are incredible though
As some who has played overwatch since late 2017 I absolutely agree and I hope that the management at Blizzard will be placed in better hands once Microsoft buys them out. However I did have fun with the hero missions even though it isn’t exactly what was promised.
Long time lurker just wanna show some support. Andrew soon at a well deserved 1 million! Like so many have mentioned, do whatever the fuck you want and we'll more likely than not like it! GoÅoÅoOoooÅoo! ~
There are 3 games that I can think of that truly master pve/ campaigns and they all do it in competely separate ways, those are battlefield 1, cod zombies and half life alyx. Battlefield one just has a huge scale to it that makes it feel like you are genuinely going over the top in the first world war and it completely just immersed me into the game, cod zombies is a fun game replayable game that then has tonnes of lore and extra parts hidden behind gameplay easter eggs and entirely optional storylines, the half life alyx just had an amazing story, mixed with a crazy world, mixed with vr. Overwatch 2 does not seem to have any of these 3 things, it just seems like a pve game that could have come out 10 years ago.
When they introduce Ana and when they have to travel on foot in a mission. I hope she gets there tired and then looks at phara like “…” then phara is like I gotchu and you can see her picking her up and flying with her. That’d be dope.
As someone who enjoys lore and cinematics, especially in Overwatch. I did buy the mission bundle and enjoyed playing. Yet I agree with most of the comments. So many promises and this is what we get. The team of designs, animations and voice actors definitely did most of all this. Personally I think they are the ones who mostly "save" the game.
$15 for this is the biggest joke of 2023, like Andrew has always had amazing content and watching him play it is peak but. The price doesn't match the content.
Something that sucks with skill trees not being a thing means more difficult content will just be enemies getting more health and dealing more damage. The different abilities and perks wouldve helped make harder content more enjoyable and easier, while still being a challenge. Who wants to bet they only do PVE for like a dozen total missions then can it entirely?
You get 3 mins to exit because there is a challenge to grab the Pachimaris (which slow you down a lot) and get out with them. It's pretty bugged atm though so it almost never counts.
Everyone in the comments trying to come up with a different paraphrase of "I'm not paying 15 bucks for PvE" but no one talking about the humor in this video 😂 "Just in the Omnic of time" LOL I found the whole video hilarious, thank you for the good laughs!
My only criticism of the cutscenes is the lack of detail in a couple of them. When the giant cannon blasts the titan there is no damage, no hole where the blast hits, it just starts to fall apart and then explodes, it's a little unsatisfying. And when Widow shoots Zen's master directly in the head, there is also no mark or bullet hole. Like he just tanked the bullet but died from the shock. Was a robot with a bullet hole in his head too graphic for a PG rating?
had to chuckle at the remark "the cutscene looks good" (not a quote), because this stuff is what two years old already ... so the first mission is just the trailer mission from the first few reveals of OW2
They need to make them cheaper. Theyre cute, and fun little missions, but theyre somehow shorter than the archives missions and, y'know.. 15 dollars more expensive. Pretty lame in my opinion

Yes it only sells in a bundle.
still $15
@@AnymMusic That's exactly what i wrote.
Haha. Your icon's Bastion while you're playing Lucio in the first mission 😅
I think the developers did good for trying to give a PvE mode. Blame Activision Blizzard for scrapping the initial plan, could have poured their resources into the PvE instead of releasing a new CoD every year.
Blizzard: Yeah seems fair to me but M O N E Y 🤑💰💸
@@leoliebeaux245blame Activision
That is a very stupid idea lol
this won't be enough to hook me back in but I'm glad you're sticking to what makes you happy
Thank you for covering this Andrew, my mates and I had a BLAST playong on Friday and plan to go back to complete them all on Legendary!
"so yeah you kill some robots, go outside kill some robots" that's all i needed to hear what a joke of a game. Ill save my money.
Last Andrewjrt video before the I’m done video…
I love that you can stagger and disable enemies in different ways.
Thank u for the all videos u made for us man❤
Sliding on that rail is more entertaining than the mission itself
2:10 ah yes. That portrait is definitely... Bast- Lucio, yep.
Some talents are still there, or evidence of it.
Nulltrooper’s Frozen death animation, Winston’s secondary chain, Brig’s KBash, etc
In my country the cost of those 3 missions are almost as expensive as a full triple A game. So thank you for showing me whats behind that price tag.
Reggie? Thats saul goodman
Long time lurker just wanna show some support. Andrew soon at a well deserved 1 million!
Like so many have mentioned, do whatever the fuck you want and we'll more likely than not like it!
GoÅoÅoOoooÅoo! ~
Regie is overwatches saul goodman
Zenyatta standing is so horribly cursed
Winston: -"Soujourn, what was that ?"
Proceeds to spin like a beyblade 😂😂😂
i loved the part when andrew got some epic upgrades from the talent tree
dead joke sry
most accurate name ive seen in a while
No its valid
@@Danstrber so is your pfp :)
3:00 why is your hero Bastion in the lower left corner?
I love the cutscenes but i wont play 3 missions where are just 3 diffrent enemie types that rly dont do anything challenging
man if it was torb instead of soujorn in mission two would be so much better
Did nobody noticed, that he plays Lucio and had the Icon of bastion in the left Corner?
I'm only curious why there is Bastion icon while you're playing Lucio?
He played this on the test server, that might be why
Andrew, thank you so much for making overwatch videos still, you're my favorite ow content creator and I appreciate you sm
i love your analogies especially the solo que lucio that runs wild lol
I loved it when Tracer said “It’s Overwatchin’ time” and Overwatched all over Null Sector
dude i've been waiting for this interaction between bastion and rein and its perfect
Wow guys! This lesser version of gameplay that was ready and better 4 years ago sure looks amazing!
These cutscenes are confirming that the overwatch team should become an animation studio
The price doesn't match the content.
bro that end scene came up and i was full on expecting that kiss meme..
That "just in the Omnic of time" joke caught me so off guard 😂
Are we gonna say anything about why his icon was bastion while playing Lucio?
Sounds like when the machine overlords take over, you're gonna be first on their list to off.
Congrats on 1 million subs!! I was here to see it change lol
Love the lore story line and character voices and cutsence.
You get 3 mins to exit because there is a challenge to grab the Pachimaris (which slow you down a lot) and get out with them. It's pretty bugged atm though so it almost never counts.
Thats a very Avenger Titan looking ship Brig's flying 😮
Everyone in the comments trying to come up with a different paraphrase of "I'm not paying 15 bucks for PvE" but no one talking about the humor in this video 😂 "Just in the Omnic of time" LOL I found the whole video hilarious, thank you for the good laughs!
So... what was the point of bringing it up then? Just mention the humor and move on, no need to unnecessarily step on people to tell us that.
@@kyperactive Relax and enjoy your Friday:)
@@dimitarapostolov9788 Eh, whatever, happy friday.
Happy one mill! I love you Andrew, been watching you since you first started making vids and I’m sooooooo happy to see you hit one mil ❤
Bro, Zenyatta is standing? He's fuckin standing!!
Ironic, considering the game is rated T for Teens.
had to chuckle at the remark "the cutscene looks good" (not a quote), because this stuff is what two years old already ... so the first mission is just the trailer mission from the first few reveals of OW2
I can't wait to watch the cutscene compilation on UA-cam cause Im not paying for this gameplay lol
They need to make them cheaper. Theyre cute, and fun little missions, but theyre somehow shorter than the archives missions and, y'know.. 15 dollars more expensive. Pretty lame in my opinion
idgi, $15 is a lot of money? that’s literally minimum wage
Half of these are reinhardt getting ww2 flashbacks.
“Did any of you played Brigg during her release five years ago? She was insane”
Man I’m getting old
I like how Lucios icon is bastion in the first mission. Like they had 4 years to make this, how does that even happen
soooo close to 1 mil subs congrats Andrew
so 15 bucks for absolutely non-replayable archives event-like missions, just as i expected
