This game has always interested me but looks like it has a very high entry level. It looks quite complicated. How long does it take to start to understand how to play?
For my group of 3 people, I’d say we really started to master the mechanics around 50 hours, but basic understanding probably came around 10-20 hours. Keep in mind I had watched a lot of GTFO content beforehand, so I was able to help my group learn
Not trying to rip on really good gameplay, but you seem to hit way better with the high caliber pistol than the DMR. Are you not always supposed to aim and hit headshots with it? I am at 15 minutes and you missed quite a few. Would you then not be better off with something like an assault rifle? More ammo and more per refill correct? Not that A1 material here is nagging, genuinely curious.
how come you only get big strikers in the cargo carry phase? Do the armoured strikers only activate when you pick up the cargo and not kill the big strikers?
just a theory... maybe the game's RNG is a bit forgiving when you play solo... the hoards from the alarms seems to look a bit less than usual as well... not that I've tried soloing any of the R7's expeditions to actually know if it's true tho... like I said... a theory.. a wild guess. But it doesn't make this video any less impressive... Like shit, I've suffered 3 nights of defeat just doing the Data Cube phase with a full team... Kudos to this bloke and his balls of adamantium. I'm baffled on how the fuck he was able to lug the crate around all the way to extract while dragging his massive balls. Fuckin Legend!
he's using a trick called enemy overflow, the game has what is called a "director" it's job is to place enemies into the map and to do that it essentially has to buy them for a certain amount of points. Big enemy=a lot more points and the director will not spawn more enemies if the cap is "over flowing"
if you watch at the very very end around 80% on the extraction scan he killed the giants and then a charger spawned, charger can only spawn since he killed the giant and refunded the points to the director
Is all this spawn manipulation well documented anywhere? I'd love to learn more. I assume the "spawner" has a certain amount of "currency" and striker giants are pretty expensive, so as long as you have a certain amount of agro'd giants nothing else can spawn?
I just want to know, is there a reason why you ignore artefacts from the first rundowns but take the ones from rundowns above ? Maybe it's just the quality and/or amount of powerful and agressive artéfacts going up but I'm not sure.
Basically all artifacts are collected. Sometimes you don't pick up when you're in a hurry, have enough boosters in reserve, or don't want to lower the heat value of the map.

If you're going to take the DMR, you have to take a +3% main damage booster to one-shot Strikers in the head
