the fall/bump nick mondo took with zandig off roof, is in my top 3 most insane bumps all time. mondo was never the same after that one. had to pack in it early
Zandig didn't protect him much. The setup was too close to the wall, so they overshot the thing by a bit and Zandig's fat ass basically broke everything underneath and Mondo landed FLAT on the concrete. Imagine taking a back bump into solid concrete from 20ft.
Don't wanna see it again, but i bet here's the scene from the one rumble match, where one of the wrestlers gets thrown over the ropes and lands in a shopping cart full of lighttubes, included. Never forgetting that moment. :)
I'm a fan of intense wrestling matches but the stuff WWE used to do in attitude era and AEW has been doing recently but this much brutality isn't good at all. There should be some rules even for extreme matches.
AEW the closest they ever they got to this was Jericho vs Nic Gage while on Dynamite not PPV, but Nic Gage did say the light tubes were fake which is not a shocker. The only other close to ultra-violent death matches would have to be between Hangman vs Swerve. Rarely AEW does this sort of matches like the early days because a lot of crybabies on Twitter.
I respect what Jim Cornett thinks, but it's good to remember that this was the answer at a time when we had situations that took away respect from wrestling: Porn actors, wrestlers who looked like porn actors (Val Venis), a lot of female nudity (bra and panties matches), Puppers Cluckers, Colonel Sanders, and much more in the rings out there. Long life CZW!
With all of these insane and EXTREMELY OVER-THE-TOP HARDCORE moments being shown in this video here, I’m surprised that the franchise hasn’t gone under much like ECW from back in the day! Oh, well. I suppose if you think of it this way, I would say that the majority of these wrestlers might as well be hardcore zombie fighters rather than wrestlers here, huh?
@@YukoMiyamoto-jj1uq If you mean that was the first promotion he was in than really? I knew he was world champ there, but not his first promotion if that's true.

@@joielollis Oh, it could be anywhere that has hardcore wrestling, like XPW, P.O.R, X-Brand Wrestling, New Fear City, IWA Mid South and of course CZW… Depending if you live somewhere in the USA.
@@suoquainen Well, wrestlers would be trained to protect themselves and the guys they work with, but some of these guys were barely ever trained. Anyhow, ofc it's better to just present risky situations instead of actually taking on the full risk, the effect on the spectator is usually the same anyway. So for example, when slamming someone on a knife board, bring the other guy down right next to the board so actually only their arm nicks the board, or something similar. The live crowd can't tell if there's actual impact anyway, on camera it might look stupider but to the live audience it's the same.

Seeing all this growing up was crazy. They were crazier than ECW and always wondered how they all survive deathmatch wrestling.
Common sense.

This video shows at least 3 guys who are dead now. Furthermore, if you watch a CZW show now, it is nothing like the shows of old.
