No no no imagine hear i want to be cold before it came out, then hearing it later when the album came out for the first time. That moment of realization when you realize it wasn't that acoustic song you remember from this concert. Like that must have been insane

I was lucky enough to see Phil play live several times during this era. In 2001 him and Kyle from Little Wings played two nights in a row in Moscow, Idaho when I was in my first year of college. The first night was in someone’s living room. The next night was in the back of a gyro restaurant where they built this beautiful stage with large rolls of paper. These two shows totally changed my concept of live music and left a huge impression on me. Thanks for uploading this!
The strums of the opening track reminded me a tad of the opening of Microphones in 2020. Awesome to see this show... And that performance on Headless Horseman was heartbreakingly beautiful. wow.
Great set. The Microphones played in Bloomington, Indiana on August 17th, 2001, with Calvin Johnson, Get the Hell Out of the Way of the Volcano, and Little Wings. If I had to guess this is probably from that show, as the Glow Pt. 2 was yet to release. Awesome find!
Pretty crazy. I didn’t know who Mirah was until I heard a podcast with her and Phil yesterday. They reminisce about this time period in particular. She’s the band he mentions that’s going up after him.
Holy shit, is that Mirah on backing vocals/guitar? Didn't even cross my mind at first, but she kind of sounds like her, and I know they've worked together.
Damn was that little bit before "I can't believe you actually died" the inspiration for the super reverbed snapping on "instrumental" on the glow pt 2?
Dude I literally don’t like the microphones but for some reason obscure videos of this guy with less than 100k views keep appearing in my recommended and I just... keep watching them
@@keldoe1351 Understandable, I think it's amazing but it's not for everybody. Hope it does click for you at one point though as it did for me since I wasn't a big fan either on my first or second listen.
para mi en esta presentación esta definitivamente la mejor versión de Headless Horseman, a pesar de que no haya mucha diferencia el camarógrafo hace que sea algo muy esencial
With most of Phil's music, you have to get it by ear and finding these videos. I heard he also tends to reply to emails with tabs and so on, and in some of his booklets that come with Vinyl, there are tabs for his songs. Such as the Mount Eerie album. I'm not sure about It was hot though. Oh, I forgot to mention check out the Mount Eerie preservation society. They have tabs there, including full The Pull tabs posted August, although the files aren't loading for me. I think it's the best source to get authentic Mount Eerie tabs, and the community is really nice to check out every few months to see if there's anything new.

I mean this 100% genuinely, the camera persons decisions really make this video better than just listening to the studio versions of the songs.
