  • I do not work for any dealership or Honda in any way. I bought this car with my own money and by my own choice. And I intend on giving an unbiased and honest opinion on my experience and ownership of this 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid Sport. This is my first HYBRID vehicle. 40,000 miles later so far so good. I bought this car brand new from a Honda dealership with 7 miles. Subscribe to see my journey with this car. I will have all maintenance done in a timely fashion and do the oil before every 5k miles, fluid and filter changes etc.

    The Accord hybrid is an extremely practical car. It has less mechnical parts than a regular gas engined car. No starter motor, no alternator, no fan or serpentine belts, no conventional transmission (transmission is just two electric motors and a clutch). Most of the complexity is in the engine and drivetrain management software.

      In Europe new hybrid Civic (same or very similar powertrain) has 5 years/300K km warranty for petrol motor, so Honda feels confident regarding this part.

    I got a 2021 EX-L accord hybrid two years ago. It’s been an extremely reliable car. About to hit 40k miles. Definitely faster than the 1.5t version, which I was surprised. Currently getting 41mpg. Drive a lot for work.

    I bought mine last March with 3 miles on it, it's over 46k miles now. The lane keeping doesn't use the radar in the grill, it uses the camera in the windshield. I love the car, it's a good blend of performance and efficiency. The only problems I've had were a cracked windshield, and a couple flat tires, those are of course a product of road hazards, and not mechanical problems. Mine is the same color as yours, (sonic grey pearl.) It's funny that 95% of the comments I get about the car are complements on the color, nobody seems to care or notice that it's a hybrid sport, unless they hear you slow rolling.

    • @justbeingmeyoutube

      Lol I bought a 2019 accord sport - gave it to my ex but most of the compliments were the same as you say-the color is beautiful-its electric blue- loved it so I'm now looking for another one and I'm considering a hybrid. Only thing that scares me is the battery situation so far-wish I knew of a company that would cover it with an extended warranty.

    I have a 2018 Accord Hybrid. I have 38,000 miles on it. In Minnesota through winter and summer, my average is about 40 mpg. It does better in city driving, usually 50+ mpg, suburban and rural drive in warmer weather driving about 45-47 mpg. Very practical car for Minnesota winter driving as the engine starts with with a motor generator on the high voltage battery which is probably 10-20x more powerful than a 12 volt starter motor.

    I'm not sponsored by Honda or doing anything with any dealerships or any business related to cars or anything online, yet 😁🤑, I WISH. I'm just sharing my journey on owning this car. This is my first new car purchase and first hybrid car I've ever owned. I've owned a few dozen cars in my life and I'm really into cars be honest but never really thought I'd buy a hybrid or a Honda. But when it comes to reliability, the Honda brand of cars always seems to have great credibility for their longevity. Plus with gas prices and how much I drive, I figured LET'S GIVE THIS HYBRID A TRY. I took a leap of faith one might say. So I thought I'd share my journey and give my honest opinion about how this 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid Sport has been. At 40k+ miles it has been running and driving great. Not the fastest car I've had but I bought it more for gas saving and reliability. Subscribe and stay tuned.

    I got this same exact car sir, 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid sport, go it 2nd week of December. I have refilled my tank twice and I am getting around 38-39 MPG both tank refills I did. I did say I drove about 70% local and 30% highway so far. 800 miles in a month LOL, nothing compare to your pace ahah. But keep posting these updates man, I appreciate it, glad to know u had not real issues, other than the frost, I am in Florida so thankfully I never have to go through that.

    Driving easy, my 2021 Accord 2T auto can get up to 45mpg. (60 mph, highway) That said, driving aggressively can bring mileage down to 25 mpg. (average) That low figure is no worse than my previous 2018 Rav 4 average.

    • @justbeingmeyoutube
      @justbeingmeyoutube  Рік тому

      I notice that at speeds 60 mph and below I seem to achieve 40+ mpg. But I put most of my miles on 70mph highways. So my mpg tends to suffer a little above 60mph. I think the sweet spot for gas mileage on the Honda Accord is between 0-60mph. But that's just my opinion. Driving styles and weather conditions will definitely cause variations.

    Reason you may not be in the 40 and up mpg is maybe bc it seems like your in a cold climate. Cars get less mpg in winter/cold weather bc the air is more dense. A vehicle will always get its best mpg in the summer when it’s warm.

    • @justbeingmeyoutube

      I can say that I did get better gas mileage in the warmer months.

    • @bud-da-cherry-picker
      @bud-da-cherry-picker Рік тому +1

      Hybrids get better gas mileage in the summertime because when it’s cold outside the car has to call for the engine when it doesn’t need it. To keep it warm at operational temperatures. Typically sitting at a stoplight. The car won’t need the engine, but if it gets too cold, it will kick on. When it’s cold outside that happens more often.

    The problems I find with the 2023 Honda Accord: 1. No All Wheel Drive is available 2. No heated steering Wheel is available 3. No spare tire is available 4. No XM Radio. If a 2023 or 2024 car missing all of these features is fine for you, then get one. Hopefully, by the time 2025 comes around these deficiencies will be resolved. As of January 2024 Honda offers a Spare Tire kit available at Hond Parts Counters for about $500

    • @justbeingmeyoutube
      @justbeingmeyoutube  10 місяців тому

      Yes the spare tire was very odd and disappointing. And I actually needed it on 2 occasions. And yes I'm surprised that it lacks all wheel drive option and the other things you mentioned. Plus I think it should have heated and cooled seats in all models seeing that the accord is supposed to be their top sedan.

Im expecting to get 200k miles at least out of this car. I had the same experience as you when looking for a used hybrid, they were the SAME money or more for a used one when i bought it in 22. I wasnt a fan of buying new price for it but i did manage to get it at MSRP in 2022 which wasn't easy as you know. is it true that you could sleep in the car in the winter with heat on, while sleeping the engine turns on to charge the battery and turns off as soon as its charged enough? Apparently the engine doesnt need to come on that often so it doesnt burn through all your gas and engine parts? making a hybrid the perfect type of car or suv to live in?

    • @justbeingmeyoutube
      @justbeingmeyoutube  Рік тому

      I know that the engine does turn off when the battery is charged. And that the engine does only run intermediately when parked. As far as how good it would be to keep running many nights in a row that I don't know. I would assume it would put less stress on the engine than a non hybrid version. But then I would kinda think you'd be putting more stress on the battery. But to be honest I don't know really how it would work. I can tell you there has been times I stay in the car at idle for long periods and the engine goes on and off while doing so.

    Dude, you are the reason why any Hybrid car is manufactured. 34k miles in four months. That's a oil change every month, wow.
    The Hybrid drivetrain system is under the Standard warranty per your state, is usually 3 years or 36,000 miles. The Battery warranty is odd, because it states 8 years 4 months or 100,000 miles. Then it goes on to say before 36 months it's 100% replacement (no cost to you). But after the 36 months it is pro rate all the way down to 100 months with 5% being the highest they will pay out toward the cost of the battery, and labor to replace it.
    I get it though, not everyone takes car of their car. And Honda has to protect against folks not taking care of their product.

      My mileage results aren't bogus, I wish they were. I have no reason to lie. I would love to get 40mpg plus all the time and I was hoping I would but that's not the truth. The highways near me have 70mph and even 75nph speed limits in my state. This car gets great gas milage during city driving and speeds between 0 and 60pmh, especially slower city driving. But during colder weather and higher speeds the gas milage suffers and that's a fact.
