    Smashing video. I am baffled by the photographers that seem to dislike Ai and ooze disdain. They’re perhaps caught by the time and $ they have invested in older software companies? But these are the same people who wouldn’t think twice about removing a rock or even (gasp) swap out a sky on their HEAVILY edited photos. Okay rant over.

    Great video. Your style of teaching is very refreshing, coming from a lecturer. It’s all about creating a work of art. Keep posting. It’s helping me discover what a marvelous piece of software Neo is.

    Thanks Tony a great overview video and I am tempted to try doing some landscapes. I have been getting a hang of things and appreciate the clone tool. Unfortunately there has been another update from Neo but since then it hasn't worked (it seems to be a common complaint). Its extremely slow, the sliders dont respond, with even the most basic functions only working on single bird edits. I have uninstalled and will load the earlier version in hope that it works again. Up to then the combination with DXO Pure Raw has worked well for me not being a professional and simply wanting to post bird photos on Facebook. Good news! that did the trick the program is working well again.

    Great video! Question about 'colour'... You didn't use the Color Harmony tool. Does it accomplish the same effect as what you had demonstrated?

      Hi Robert. Good question! No, the color harmony, in spite of its name, doesn't really achieve the same colour harmony I demonstrated here.

      @@AnthonyTurnhamI really prefer Luminar, but I have a very bugging point. When I mask on Luminar, there is no edge detection feature. I think ON1 photo raw is a better option when we do low-light situations. But I really like Luminar's user-friendly UI. I mostly do street photography and cityscapes, but sometimes landscape.

    Another great tutorial. Tips I certainly will put into use moving forward. Especially the last one. There have been multiple times I have rushed through an edit, to print an image for family and friends, with great regrets. My wife finds it strange that I do that, especially since, in her words, it takes too long for me to take a shot (my wife is not into photography). I need more patience in front of the computer screen. Thanks.

    Great instructional video as always. With all the updates and new improvements in the recent releases I am starting to really like Neo. Would be helpful if they would come out with one slider to affect all of the edits. I think AI had this and would be really helpful to easily tone done some of my ovredits.

      You can simulate this by opening the original image in two layers, then do your edit the top layer. Finally, adjust the opacity of the edited layer and the original will come back underneath thus controlling the intensity of the edits. It works pretty well IMHO.

    Love your videos. Would you consider doing one turning a day scene into night with a street light. I have one I would love to do but struggling. Keep getting a halo around the roof tops when changing to a night sky and can't get the light right coming from the street light. Also what else to change to get a realistic look. Cheers Guy

    Great Video! Curious why you would use HSL for Color Harmony and not "Color Harmony" under the Professional Section of Neo.

    • @AnthonyTurnham
      @AnthonyTurnham  2 роки тому

      As I mentioned (or perhaps wrote, or perhaps thought in my head 😅) there are many ways to work with colour in most photo editors. Luminar is no different. However, for this purpose of shifting colours the HSL section is my preferred method.

      I initially used Neo on a Windows PC with an i5 CPU and 16GB RAM. It was horribly slow so I gave up and got a refund. A few months later I had bought a shiny new M1 powered Mac Mini with 16GB and Skylum offered me a deal to buy Neo again - I did, and it flies. I love it on the Mac. But I'm not sure if they improved it in software or if it is just the M1 Mac processor or a bit of both...

    Hi again Anthony, very good tips on landscape editing - thanks Anthony! I will shortly be travelling to Yorkshire, including the city of York, and for sure I will be taking some HDR and non-HDR photos. By the way, referring to my previous post, I tried to use Excire's instruction videos, but they are all in German, so that's why I requested you to explain using Excire Foto! Regards from Felix the Cat. 🐱
