Actually think Nerdonabudget's UPS testbed setup would be perfect or at least getting a live test of the GPU before you leave. Great work, Guess for me I see those missing/damaged fanblades as a huge red flag potentially. Would actually like to see more on testing used GPUs. Most of my stuff was my old gear shuffled around so it is interesting to learn more.
Yeah, I think getting a portable setup like Nerd on a budget is a good idea! I know how you feel about that confrontation and whatnot... at a certain point, it's no longer worth it... even though you're out some money. :/
think the Nerd has a UPS with a lead acid battery?... Recommend getting a portable Solar Generator with a Lithium battery. Make sure it has a pure sine wave inverter with enough watts to power any system, then get the amount of battery you need for running time...
Yeah use some lifepo4 cells to make battery affordable that can run powerful parts for long time. Eve makes good lifepo4 cells so making 12v battery from them is good idea. @@RIZZO529
It's not the money it's the morale of it. Guy literally knows it doesn't work but sold it anyways. I sold my 1080ti a few years ago and met a guy that had a mobile setup. Unfortunately for his setup it didn't boot my 1080ti. So he had my number and bought it,I told him if it didn't boot I will happily take it back, because I knew it worked perfectly, guy took it home on his rig it booted np and he was very happy.
This kinda content is why you're amazing. You haven't lost touch with reality at all. I feel like the 'high end' PC Tech UA-camrs don't understand that the grand majority of PC Gamers aren't rocking 7800X3Ds and RTX 4080s. They also don't seem to understand that Z790/X670 mobos are way out of range of the majority of the world and refuse to use anything reasonably priced off Aliexpress. Thank you bro, I love your channel.
Love seeing the ups and the downs of pc parts hunting, especially since its not only your money but your trust that's gone... i got hosed on a 3700x, still hurts, but still going strong with them deals!
@@HGNanodude long story short, gambled on a 3700x that had missing pins that only affected ram, sent it to service to solder on the pins, the cpu worked perfectly and detected the missing ram earlier and at full speeds too, but the cpu just immediately died after running a benchmark, and is just fried after being perfectly repaired.
(1) I love this channel and the content - fantastic work brother! (2) If you are hunting for local deals for PC parts ALWAYS ask for proof of functionality prior to buying the components unless you have a setup to test components in the trunk of your car. (3) If you are selling parts locally, include pictures/videos of the product working as intended. Establish that buyer-seller trust relationship.
Thanks to you, i got myself a burning desire to build a budget PC again. Yesterday picked up i3-9100, Asus Z390, 480gb ssd and 16gigs of corsair ddr4 just for 120€ (~195AUD, google told me). Tomorrow i will pick up rx580 and then i need only PSU. Greetings from Finland. Can't wait to see episode 4
This was a fun watch. The two PCs for $100 each was such an awesome deal; the case & hardware & drives, so great. I don't think I'd ever find that kind of a deal.
Was just wondering if there was a new episode - uploaded 1 minute ago - YES! I'm so hyped to see where this is going. You and Greg Salazar are my favorite tech channels, with this and fix or flop (btw would love to see you do that as well, plus clean up some rigs!)
Bryan I love your videos and what you are doing, providing value to your customers with bargains! I'm finding it more difficult to find flip up deals here in Toronto. It seems as though the used market is priced high in my area. I guess i just need to start looking deeper. Happy holidays !
I love this series as well as your other videos, but really enjoy this the most. I used to do this myself before I started driving over the road. I bought a pair of 27” 1080p 75Hz Dell monitors from my buddy for $100 usd. He’s barely used them and even though I don’t need them at all, I have quite a few 32” monitors already, but it helped him out and you can never have too many monitors.
Brian, you should get one of those little Jackery LiFePo battery packs to put in your vehicle for parts hunts, with a cheap portable monitor, and a test bed system that you can test the graphics cards out of the back of your vehicle before you exchange money.
I cant believe he tried to blame you for frying it, using a 1000w power supply.. I guess he didn't realize he was messing with the TECH MASTER and you don't play that shit 🤣Also you should get one of those Electric Portable Generators to put it the Tech Mobile with a mini ITX pc so this doesn't happen anymore bro
Cars have built in generators called an alternator. You just need and inverter to convert to AC power. Ironically your cars alternator generates 3 phase AC power and is converted to DC with a rectifier, and if you plugged a pc up to an inverter, youd be converting AC to DC to AC inverter, to DC power through the PSU.
Yeah i wouldnt touch any graphics card that looks damaged/fans worn out as it might leed to an intermittent fault or completely inoperative. Hope you get these builds sold asap! waiting for the next episode 😀😀
For the mobo with password and bios. It seemed that you just need to remove the jumper from that CMOS-PWD pins and then turn on. Then put them back on.
I've started bringing a small 11.6" portable monitor, cheap testing build, and power bank station with me when buying used parts. Great little test station in the trunk.
Not only was the fan blade broken, it was an ASUS fan on a Gigabyte card. Which tells me at some point a fan died and who knows how long it went unnoticed. More than likely it overheated and caused it's early death. You win some, you lose some. At least the other parts were good so not a complete loss.
You need to do what I have done and install a 600 watt inverter into the boot of your car. I have an ITX board with a 7th gen i7-7700k I built into an aluminum case that I can test parts on and plug a monitor into the inverter. You can do what suits you, but this has helped me from getting hosed so many times at this point. It's always easy to tell because the person expects for you to not be able to verify until your far away from them, or they dodge the question of can I see it run before I buy it. As many parts that you deal with buddy incorporating this into the Tech Yes mobile may just be what you need.
I love this content with the used parts hunt and although I feel bad for you being hosed - it does make for interesting and relatable content!! keep it up
Definitely a lot of red flags from that guy who sold you the part bundle for $105... The broken gpu fan, bent pins on the usb 3 header and the pc being a prebuilt all indicate someone who doesn't have adequate experience with pc building. Glad to hear you'll be going the nerd on a budget route with a station in the back of your car... Will save you time and money in the long run! Also love the budget series it's going back to your roots!

Great video! On a way to high end pc👌 these three pcs should easily make 1000$ espacially with peripherals. Suck that the rx card was bad, but as you said it sometimes unfortunately happens. If you're in the business of flipping PCs, making low ball offers is a great way to get some cheap components. You only need a few yes's to save a lot and help your profit margins.
I’ve seen nerd on a budgets test setup, if the sellers legit and you’re not afraid to get in peoples houses they’ll test for you. That’s how you meet cool people as well
Getting hosed really sucks! In the past, I have been able to re-flow GPU's and about 50% of the time, they come around. Have you ever tried this with trashed GPU's when you know you have nothing to lose or do you just move on to the next deal?
I think the smart way to go forward is to have a test bench in the car. And ask people when you pick it up if it's okay to test it before buying. Scammers like that Burak will say no, and you know it's a bad GPU. Also fans broken is not nice to pay that amount. In the Netherlands you can find decent 470,480,570 and 580 8gb cards for about 50$% and less. They are worth almost nothing. I have some older mining 480 asus cards laying around 8gb models. I would sell them for 35$ each the ones that are okay. Hope you find more nice deals. Picked up myselve a customloop watercooled pc today with a nice 10900K, and a 3080. It should have a defect.
