It is impressive, a lot of it is backed on much older engineering for how a lens is constructed along with auto focus joints. The really neat thing is this is scalable tech and one could, with the right engineering, use better materials and make these duel worthy. Beyond that if you were to say source acrylic or polycarbonate parts you could run a series of LEDs through the blade and interlace the blade with a refractive coating, think neopixel. The future of fan made lightsabers is about to enter a brand new era.
