Note for those out there who followed the video and find it doesn’t work, the answer is: use the door lock hook as negative to get trunk open! I followed the exact same steps and it didn’t work for me then i use the door lock hook as negative and it worked like a magic!
The reason is because the horseshoe shaped latch on the door frame is unpainted and connected directly to the chassis. The black area this "Porsche Pro" connected to is painted black and not connected directly to the chassis (hinged with grease). This provides bad contact with the car's electrical system. The manual states that the negative side should be connected to the latch, not the black door damper. Thanks for the tip!
Yeah it seems to be a bit dependent on how powerful the jump box is. I've never had issues with the method I showed, but I used a weaker jumpbox recently and it needed the door latch to work.
I locked the front trunk after taking off the positive wire of the battery because I will travel for a month! Kayman 2015 Is that video will help to open it or what should I do ?
Yup! Same process. I imagine it should still work even with the battery disconnected, but I've never tried. Play around with the ground connection. Our jumper box has some JUICE and it can ground on the black hinge but as another user has pointed out, you can also use the exposed metal latch where the door catches.
What you critically fail to mention is the use of the key (within in the remote control) IF you have KEY LESS entry. Using the short stumpy key is NOT easy to open the drivers door.
This video saved the bacon this evening. 992.1 Targa 4 S arrived with totally dead battery on the transport. Got it figured thanks to this video.
sounds like someone transporting it or at the dealer left the parking lights on lol
@@theporschepro1065 100% exactly what happened.

Thanks for that. Took me 30min until i saw your comment 🙏💪
Yeah... our jumper boxes don't see to mind either of the points LOL. They put out some serious current.
Excellent video, must use door lock hook as negative else trunk wont open. totally dead battery after 3 weeks of not driving the car.

Oh yeah... its a massive pain in the butt LOL
Here’s a silly idea. Why doesn’t Porsche just install a manual release lever under the dash?
lol, if only I knew.
Its was a manual release on the first series of the 996 from 1997 to 2001
Your a life saver, thank you
Happy to help!
