Aw man, I was living in Paris around the time of this gig. Too fucking bad I wasn't familiar with his music at the time cos he's my favourite artist right now. It would've been so cool to be there
saw him open for the walmen and been a fan since. looking forward to seeing him again in april.seems to be hit or miss live sometimes but the songs are top notch.
Great performance, but someone needs to shoot the audio guy - very flat and muddy sound (check out the Ancienne Belgique gig by FJM to hear how good it can sound)

+Jack Martin You, sir, are beyond cool. Thank you, I thought it would be nice if Pitchfork added more proper details, but you have just proven that the power is indeed still with the people. Keep rockin' in the free world
Jack, this guy is nothing short of FANTASTIC. But I agree with you, I loved Van Morrison too. I just don't see a strong correlation between the two. I might need to pull out the old VM stuff. In fact this gives me a really good excuse to do just that! All the best to you.

+rhcpfreak2006 Thank you.
thank you!
Thank you for this. I dug this show. They’re all great though. So nothing new. I’m a Dodgers fan. I wonder if he really is too.
This guy is such an underrated genius.
Josh would get such a boner from this comment lets be honest
This version of True Affection is fucking sick
He used the exactly colors I imagine these songs would have. Red for I Love You, Honeybear, Purple for True Affection. He's a genius.
"the moment you came to, I swore I would change"
the fist time through the album I broke down on that line, oh lord he is a genius
i have watched this so many times and i cant stop but you know, im not even that mad about it
omg - every shot so beautiful i die - kudos to each and every camera operator and the editor
Watching Nothing Good Ever Happens at the Goddamn Thirsty Crow live in person will change your life.
+Daniel Brian Agreed, when he screams "if you try that cat and mouse shit", I had a fucking out of body experience.
I've seen him 3 times - - can attest to this statement
how he can make a festival feel so intimate idk...
yes
Aw man, I was living in Paris around the time of this gig. Too fucking bad I wasn't familiar with his music at the time cos he's my favourite artist right now. It would've been so cool to be there
to make this more entertaining i would recommend asking FJM every 3 minutes what the letter after "n" is
+Chandler Beckner OHH!! OHHHH!!! OHHHHHH!!
Biting comment.
Chandler Beckner ...nnyDeathWhen?
Chandler Beckner its the second N that gets me every time

The sound quality on this is amazing and the band is so tight, everyone is in rare form here. Amazing.

I love that people knew when to laugh and clap during bored in the USA!

What A Beautiful Thing!
Great sound quality. Love this.
Watching this for the banter…so far it's just first-day-in-French-class stuff...
I like the live version of Strange Encounter better than the album version!
Such a hot set! Damn!
god bless u for this
This is so so so so so fucking great
Good show! Really powerful!
yes!
Great performance, but someone needs to shoot the audio guy - very flat and muddy sound (check out the Ancienne Belgique gig by FJM to hear how good it can sound)
Could you give us the set list and the names of his band members?
Just an idea. Great performance, thank you for the footage.

In the best possible way. So fucking awesome.

J´aime Tillman!!!
5?
Im gonna make it 4 comment bc this is my 3rd straight night watching this
I can only guess that people who think this is groundbreaking and wonderful have never heard Van Morrison.
of course i know who is Van Morrison but i prefer FJM afterall
Jack, this guy is nothing short of FANTASTIC. But I agree with you, I loved Van Morrison too. I just don't see a strong correlation between the two. I might need to pull out the old VM stuff. In fact this gives me a really good excuse to do just that! All the best to you.
i bet julian already has all our files....just waiting to be leaked
Better than Jesus
In Lennon's 60's you'd be run out of town for that! These days ...not so much as a batted eye.
J'mappelle la keanon
bassist look like a damn gopher
My Files are Stolen too
666 likes, lmao
lol J'taime Mon Non Plus
Dying to know what that song in the beginning is. The French one with the organs that plays before the actual set starts
Je t'aime… moi non plus by Serge Gainsbourg
OMG this sucks
If his voice was a little stronger, he would be a pop star. Good enough he's a indie star.
I don't like this performance, i much prefer his "unplugged" in Philly
The first album was better.
+Lando Cartel yep, definitely. but i like honeybear too.
+Lando Cartel I whole heartedly disagree with your opinion
Yeah, well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
+Lando Cartel see what you did there DUDEEEE. best comeback. :D
+Lando Cartel As was your original comment
