- Mount the Blue Sea 4.8 USB dual port outlet on our 2006 Dodge Sprinter.
Supplies that I used:

Wirefy Crimp Tool: amzn.to/3kl7FqV
Klein Tools Wire Cutter/Stripper: amzn.to/35Aepfx
Thanks for the video. I've been wondering what to do with adding additional ports for charging devices in my new T1N project so this is very helpful and giving me ideas! Will check out your other videos too.
Fabulous job, you pointed out 2 issues that appear to be worrisome, first is the gap that is left around the original opening, knowing me i will spill a hot drink down that small opening and probably do untold damages! 2nd issue that you astutely pointed out is the constant draw of power, even when the ignition is off! With that said i dug a little deeper and found this item. Major respect goes out to you for inspiring me to even think i could do this! amazon.com/gp/product/B0872NV65J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Very cool find! Touch
hell yeah brother
Why would you remove the 15 amp cigarette plug. That allows you to plug in an inverter or other things. Just get it USB insert that goes in the dash tabs and connect that Then you could actually connect it to the ignition if you wanted as well. If the van now sits the USB device you installed will eventually drain the battery. The cigarette lighter doesn't draw any juice unless something is plugged into it.
Thanks
I just bought a 2006 freightliner sprinter and want to purchase a head unit stereo with back up camera. Do new dash kits exist for this van? I'm curious how you'd recommend installing them since there doesn't seem to be much space for the what I think is called the "din"? Thanks!
I wish I had an answer for that right now. We are working on a new build on a 2006 that will need a new head unit so I will post back when I figure it out. Thanks
i would have drilled another new hole to the right of the lighter , thus having both available to use. there is plenty of room to do it.
True but I wanted to just do very minimal wiring so reused what was there
Ok. You have used these tools before.
I'm glad I'm not crazy. Exact same model van, and I looked at taking out the cigarette lighter and it was impossible. I'll look up this USB port you're using and just dremel out the cigarette lighter later. Cheers.
