Its about time we got affordable Godzilla figures with great sculpt and articulation. As much as i liked the neca figures and respect the old Monsterarts figures i think this is the absolute way to go nowadays. Monsterarts is way too expensive nowadays and the QC has severely dropped with my Final wars figure falling apart so much i had to return him. Super 7 joining the party is cool but $85 for what should be $40-$55 figures is quite irritating to earn a skip from me. The hiya figures are thankfully the medium of what i need. Good pricing, great sculpt, and little issues around. I really hope they can make some classic figures sometime in the future
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Hiya Toys is Killing it, with these new Godzilla Figures, cannot wait for mine to arrive, cannot wait for the other Monsterverse Figures, and cannot wait to see what they have planned for the Toho Line.
Also going to be cool once they make the other Titans like methuselah, behemoth, Scylla, and the others to in the monsterverse. Also going to be awesome seeing there Toho line. Wonder if they will be able to make the other Kaijus and not just Godzilla’s.
For me, I really liked this figure. The sculpting was amazing. The level of the detail on the figure was very appreciated. I am a slightly upset that it didn’t come with a ray but it’s fine
I like the improved sculpt and the new neck, but I’m just going to wait for the the rerelease of 2021 because I prefer that version’s darker paint scheme.
The dorsal plates on the 2019 hiya looks super detailed and crisp, really great sculpting work, and the other details on the figure to. I’ve also heard they will make the rest of the monsterverse kaiju, and hope they do, such as methuselah, behemoth, Scylla, muto queen, flying muto, warbat, red skull crawler, mechagodzilla, and Godzilla 2014. Also going to be cool seeing there toho Godzilla line, hopefully they start with the showa era first. Also looking forward to Godzilla, kong the new empire hiya figures as well. Also would be awesome if hiya toys got the licenses to Jurassic park, world and ray harryhausen, and King Kong 1933, 2005, and joe devitos King Kong as well.
As someone who own this figure, I agree that I have the same issue with some joints like the tail being stuck and the arms and shoulders could've been better. While also have to say that the neck could've have more range with another joint in the middle, instead of being just a single double ball joint system. Other than that, really quite an improvement and quite pleased & happy with the release. Let's hope Hiya improve their game later down the line
i tryd to but one of it seem very tight and so i dint continue anymore, now i can turn right preety good but left look will since one joint is not moving hahaha @@GodzillaHorrorGuy
Unfortunately heat ray Godzilla won’t come with building effects. I’m surprised Mothra didn’t come with them. She seems like the perfect figure to come with one or two. Also just to give warning that I’ve heard from a few reviewers that the head swapping on heat ray Godzilla was really cumbersome. One of them had to use hot water to get the other head on. Other than that it’s a beautiful figure.
Yeah I have the heat ray ver. I was repeadtly stabbing myself with the dorsal spines trying to swab heads. The neck piece is just too large to fit so I just stayed with the og head.
I was on the fence between this one and the updated GvK Godzilla figure that’s on preorder. But I ultimately decided on the latter. I’m really excited to get him, especially due to its similarities with this particular figure. On another note, and I’m sure you answer this on a regular, what kind of buildings do you use to set up shots for your monster figured? Love that Bandai/Japan Airlines one in particular. Cheers!
A few of them look like some eyepopdesigns stuff, mainly the falling apart buildings. Can't say for sure about the rest but Tomytec model train buildings work super well with 6-7 inch scale figures
Just pre ordered the updated version of godzilla vs kong, it seems they've changed the head & color. Very excited to see the final result :D Between the two of the video i prefer the King of monsters version tought...
PSA Guys: I decided to find out why my copy is stiff on some joints on the tail, and I found that some of the dumbbell joints were superglued to the sockets, which shocked me to be honest. I had to gently, but firmly free those dumbbell joints, so that they can move on their sockets. Now the tail is able to do more natural curves. So, for those of you who have a copy of this figure and have stiff tail joints, check if the dumbbell joints have been superglued to the sockets
Great review! Just got mine and love the bulkiness and detail of him compared to the monster arts versions. He does need better articulation but to me it's not a deal breaker. If Hiya keeps this up, .monster arts is in trouble
I really love the sculpt on this figure but I don’t think it’s the best yet. Because of the articulation, the SHMA Monsterverse Godzilla still has way better articulation. So for me they’re tied because they both beat each other in different categories.
My only criticism about this figure is colour, the orange-ish part of the paint is too light but overall it's perfect, have a better accuracy than S.H MonsterArts
Actually I pefer it because every Godzilla figure is super black and this went more CGI like and it looks amazing and you can see the details so much better
