Also some tips boarded up houses have HELLA LOOT and you should always try to find a way to break into them (this sounds like I’m trolling but I’m not) also you should constantly be checking your moodles in the top right corner if you don’t it’ll prolly cause you’re death, also avoid large crowds of zombies and don’t use guns unless you have aiming level 5 (the easiest way to level aiming is to find a shotgun with a ton of shotgun shells and kill a bunch of zombies. There are also a ton of videos explaining the best occupations and traits to choose (where you pick youre traits and occupation is where you said “woah. I guess we’ll just hit next.”) rose wood is a good starting location and make a new custom sandbox world where you can change a lot of stuff (from loot rarity to zombie population) this game also has mod support if you so wish to add more stuff like occupations
Im boutta drop a wall of text my bad but: dying is a big part of the game, especially starting out youre gonna die A LOT, you can start a new character on the same world but I think its best to just keep creating new worlds when you die (when starting off at least) until you get a solid run going, (because the game gets harder as the first few weeks go by: zombie population gets higher, power and water starts to go out which means buildings are darker and perishable food goes rotten) its def a game that isn't very inviting when you first play so its pretty normal to just get burnt out by how hard it feels, when i first bought it i stopped playing after a few hours because i just couldnt get the hang of it until i reinstalled it a few years later. CHARACTER TRAITS: When it comes to the traits you pick for your character, you can pick a job, positive traits, and negative traits for your first job ever playing I'd recommend Burglar, it allows you to hotwire cars from the start of the game so you don't need to find keys and only have to worry about if they have gas in them or not When it comes to traits its personal preference for the most part but Positive Traits: I'd absolutely recommend taking either Strong/Stout or Athletic/Fit. Strength and Fitness are the two most important skills in the game and having a big boost in them at the start of the game completely changes things Negative Traits: Negative traits are weird because some of them don't really do much and are basically just free points you can invest into getting more positive traits. For example, pretty much everyone picks Underweight and Smoker, its very easy to put on weight at the start of the game (and when you reach a certain weight the underweight trait goes away) and cigarettes are extremely easy to find and the downsides to not smoking aren't too extreme (Slow Reader and Weak Stomach are also free points because in singleplayer you can speed up time when reading, and as for weak stomach, that only affects you when eating rotten food which you shouldnt need to do in the first place) you can minmax a lot more than this but thats all you really need to focus on when starting the game, for example my main build after 600 hours is Job: Lumberjack Positive: Strong, Athletic, Organized, Fast Learner, Lucky, Wakeful, Outdoorsman, Dextrous, Cat's Eyes, Speed Demon Negative: Thin Skinned, High Thirst, Slow Healer, Underweight, Conspicuous, Prone to Illness, Smoker, Weak Stomach, Short Sighted, Slow Reader TIPS: NEVER use guns at the start, the gun skills are really imbalanced at the moment which makes its so pistols/revolvers/rifles are basically all entirely useless without mods, shotguns are still an exception though, they require basically no gun skills and are great at taking out large groups of zombies (still would only recommend you to use them if you have a lot of ammo, and not in the middle of a city) melee takes a while to get a handle on, but it gets easier over time and is the way you will kill 95% of zombies. Theres a setting you can turn on that gives zombies outlines when you are in range to attack which is extremely useful and basically everyone uses it. Its in OPTIONS -> DISPLAY -> CURSOR -> Aim Outline (set it to Any Weapon) During the video you stumbled upon a barricaded house, thats called a survivor home, you can break into them and they have some of the best loot in the game, they can spawn lots of food, good clothing, guns and the rarest melee weapons (which are capable of easily one shotting zombies) If you feel like melee combat is too slow, you can change a setting in SANDBOX OPTIONS (the tab where you create your world) which allows you to turn multi-hit on, which means you melee weapon can strike multiple zombies at once. To find this, when creating a new world, under "Playstyle" select Custom Sandbox instead of Apocalypse, choose your starting location (Rosewood or Riverside are the easiest to start) and then in the Sandbox Options screen scroll down to Character and click the Weapon Multi Hit option
Another 500 hour player here: Guy above has some great tips listen to him. I'd also add the town you spawn in is very important as they have different difficulties: ROSEWOOD - EASY (Lowest population, small size of town makes it easy to memorize the locations) RIVERSIDE - NORMAL (Similar zombie DENSITY as Rosewood, however Riverside is much larger making it more challenging to learn than Rosewood.) (Start spawning here when you can get around 300 kills in Rosewood before you die) MULDRAUGH - HARD (Higher zombie density, largest starting town in the game making it difficult to memorize locations.) West Point - HARDEST (West Point is the most densely populated starting city. Even as an experienced player I prefer to spawn in Muldraugh as it has more industry) Keep in mind that shopping areas will be the most dense part of any town, find a frying pan or griddle pan for a basic weapon first, than start looking in garages for metal pipes, hammers, wrenches, etc.
Brysen i know you probably aint gonna play this game again but some tips from my 400+ hours of playtime off the top of my head are, Dont sprint unless you have to Dont fight unless you have to If you don't have a weapon shoving zombies knocks them down and you can stand over their body so they can't get up and stomp their head so you can kill them easily Even if you have a weapon shoving zombies is still really helpful because once they fall down all you have to do is hit them in the head and they'll die pretty fast Dont take on too many zombies at once When fighting zombies always keep backing up and let them come to you Only use shotguns if youre aiming skill is low Dont use any other gun besides a shotgun unless your aiming skill is above 5 because your literally going to miss every single shot and waste bullets Dont use a gun unless you have a bunch of bullets and always carry more bullets than you think you need Shooting a gun around an area with a bunch of zombies (cities, towns, buildings, etc) is not a good idea because youre only going to keep attracting more zombies Get a good working vehicle early on in the game (you can check the vehicles health by going up to the hood of the car and interacting with it) When making your character choose the burglar occupation so you can hotwire cars as soon as you spawn and choose keen hearing trait to see further behind your character so zombies are more noticeable when they sneak up on you Once you find a good safe spot for your base grab a saw and hammer and disassemble some furniture for plants so you can board up the windows and doors around your base you can board up the same window and door multiple times Get a generator early on (find them in garages and sheds of houses and buildings) since the electricity will cut out in a couple weeks in game Only place generators outside because they will explode if they're placed indoors Constantly check your surroundings Stay quiet and dont attract any zombies Dont click Q it will attract zombies around you Avoid zombies unless absolutely necessary And most importantly just have fun Thats just some tips off the top of my head and the games is really in depth so if you want to learn more just watch videos theres a lot out there and theyre helpful, hell i still watch some guides after playing for 400+ hours 😅
That’s wild bro I literally just restarted playing again this week with some friends, and you post a zomboid video within the same week is such a crazy coincidence.
Fun video -- the DTI music caught me off guard and made me laugh. Here's some tips -- - Don't start in the hardest mode - Don't use guns unless you have enough ammo to kill everyone in the hoard. Using a gun in the early game in a town is a death sentence - You can take clothing from Zombies like socks, shirts, etc, and rip them into strips to use as bandages. If they're dirty, you can wash them in a sink. - WALK. DON'T RUN. Most Zombies can be out-maneuvered at the walking pace if you're constantly moving. - F2 pauses the game. If you're getting overwhelmed, pause and look at your situation a moment. It helps early on. - Sheets found in homes can be used to cover windows. - When starting out, avoid combat unless absolutely necessary. Stealth is your friend! - Enable Target Outlines in the settings before you play, this makes aiming and hitting zombies much easier! Happy dying!
Commenting this again, hopefully you see it. Brysen, just so you know, there's a Cheat Table, that you can use with a Cheat Engine, to remove the day limit in, Into the Dead: Our Darkest Day.
Hey bry, got more than a few hours in this game i want to tell you that you can use makeshift curtains out of pillow sheets. after finding some pillow sheets (from pillows/beds) you can right click empty windows and put them up to allow you to move more freely indoors (quietly). the TV is a great way to get some early stats and the times that the shows come on are relative to in game time. you can see what the time is by finding a watch (zombies carry them often) and it will tell you the time in the top right. The Tv will make noise so be careful when you turn it on as it may attract nearby zombies. the louder the tv the faster your character will learn but more zombies in a bigger range will hear you. Gaining skills from books is easy but requires you to find the volumes in order (fishing vol.1 then fishing vol.2 etc). You can find backpacks, duffel bags, and even small bags that will allow you to carry more things without being too heavy (make sure you actually put the item in the backpack lol). The last tip i will give you is to use small picket fences to bait zombies into falling over them when they chase you. When zombies fall over you can hold right click and press space to stomp on them (you actually have to aim with the small white circle provided in order to be more effective.) this can ruin your shoes so its important to find hiking boots or military boots. you can also hit them with your weapon when they fall over (you need to aim). you can push zombies over more easily if you put the character trait "strong" on. This is an expensive trait but its a great place to start to learn some of the game mechanics. Good Luck and speedy deaths!
You should definitely play again! And make sure you add traits and just read them all to see what seems nice, and I would suggest choosing the robber “job” because you can Hotwire cars easier! Hope to see you play again 😁
props bro you did good for a first time. BIG PRO TIP take advantage of fences when zombies are on the ground there heads are very STEPABLE make them go over those low fences and then brain them GLHF
Idk if you’ll like it but you should try Darkwood. It’s a really good horror survival game with a cool story but it would def take multiple vids to beat
sum tips from when i play the game is that the zombies can hear everything you do so melee is the best thing to do because guns make noise. another thing is to get extra clothes and rip them to make bandages from ripped sheets and if you can find sum water that you can boil to sterilize your wounds. also if you do that stuff there are mods in the workshop that make stuff easier to understand cuz this game is hard to understand. also layer clothes on to not get scratched easily and survivor houses have the best loot in them they are the houses with the wooden windows
Brysen already struggling enough in Into The Dead and that game is not even that hard so he goes and plays one of the hardest survival games ever this is about to be funny watching bro suffer 😂
So I know you kept saying how you weren't doing well, but I've watched a ton of '1st time playing pz' videos and you fr did better than most people I've watched. At least you played the tutorial and learned the basics first, the amount of people that don't do it and then bitch about not knowing how to open windows and shit is crazy! I've subbed, would love to see you playing more pz.
a few important tips i can give is that guns are traps at the beginning, dont even shoot a gun if you dont have hundreds of bullets because it attracts a crazy amount of them and tweak the sandbox settings a little to make the zombies weaker or whatever you'd like that might be comfortable, this game is really just knowledge so putting in the time to learn mechanics and such will go a long way i hope you enjoyin the game fr though i'd love to see a longer playthrough (:
I absolutely love your videos sm, and i would love to request a game, i recently played this mod called “17 bucks” its for the fnf game amazing songs not too difficult but its also a challenge, i would really love to see you play it for a video it has around 9 songs and they are all insanely good so this is officially day 1 of asking you to play the 17 bucks fnf mod 🙏
you need to play with mods bro! this game has so many mods its crazy! i usually just copy the mods from ash zombie gaming I survived a 100 days videos the R.V. nomad being my fav
All I know is Brysen ain’t gon make it past the first day after this tutorial😭😭 wait I js watched the full vid and bro got cooked DURING the tutorial 😭😭

Crazy thing is bro definitely seen this comment too
I mean, UA-camrs get bored of playthrough series all the time🤷🏽♀️
Im boutta drop a wall of text my bad but:

for your first job ever playing I'd recommend Burglar, it allows you to hotwire cars from the start of the game so you don't need to find keys and only have to worry about if they have gas in them or not
When it comes to traits its personal preference for the most part but
Positive Traits: I'd absolutely recommend taking either Strong/Stout or Athletic/Fit. Strength and Fitness are the two most important skills in the game and having a big boost in them at the start of the game completely changes things

For example, pretty much everyone picks Underweight and Smoker, its very easy to put on weight at the start of the game (and when you reach a certain weight the underweight trait goes away) and cigarettes are extremely easy to find and the downsides to not smoking aren't too extreme (Slow Reader and Weak Stomach are also free points because in singleplayer you can speed up time when reading, and as for weak stomach, that only affects you when eating rotten food which you shouldnt need to do in the first place)
you can minmax a lot more than this but thats all you really need to focus on when starting the game, for example my main build after 600 hours is
Job: Lumberjack
Positive: Strong, Athletic, Organized, Fast Learner, Lucky, Wakeful, Outdoorsman, Dextrous, Cat's Eyes, Speed Demon
Negative: Thin Skinned, High Thirst, Slow Healer, Underweight, Conspicuous, Prone to Illness, Smoker, Weak Stomach, Short Sighted, Slow Reader
TIPS:
NEVER use guns at the start, the gun skills are really imbalanced at the moment which makes its so pistols/revolvers/rifles are basically all entirely useless without mods, shotguns are still an exception though, they require basically no gun skills and are great at taking out large groups of zombies (still would only recommend you to use them if you have a lot of ammo, and not in the middle of a city)

BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONEEE imma need more videos on this!
On god
Bruh this is my first video of his and I’m here for the character development
on a serious note brysen i appreciate you for being here to make me smile during stressful times. Thank you 🙏
I would love to see you do a series on this game. Project zomboid is such a good game once you get into it
Brysen is addicted with zombie games
12:44 i aint ever heard brysen excited to see books
Love zombie games and this one is great. Y’all know Bro is gonna cook with this one!
unc we get it with THESE DAMN ZOMBIE GAMES😭😭💀
Saw this again and it’s still great!
PLEASE play more PZ, this game is so good, there's mod support and so much to do. ty brygooner
I hope this one turns into a full series bro, Project Zomboid it's amazing.
Cheers from Mexico, love your channel 🤙
Brysen i know you probably aint gonna play this game again but some tips from my 400+ hours of playtime off the top of my head are,
Dont sprint unless you have to
Dont fight unless you have to
If you don't have a weapon shoving zombies knocks them down and you can stand over their body so they can't get up and stomp their head so you can kill them easily
Even if you have a weapon shoving zombies is still really helpful because once they fall down all you have to do is hit them in the head and they'll die pretty fast
Dont take on too many zombies at once
When fighting zombies always keep backing up and let them come to you
Only use shotguns if youre aiming skill is low
Dont use any other gun besides a shotgun unless your aiming skill is above 5 because your literally going to miss every single shot and waste bullets
Dont use a gun unless you have a bunch of bullets and always carry more bullets than you think you need
Shooting a gun around an area with a bunch of zombies (cities, towns, buildings, etc) is not a good idea because youre only going to keep attracting more zombies
Get a good working vehicle early on in the game (you can check the vehicles health by going up to the hood of the car and interacting with it)
When making your character choose the burglar occupation so you can hotwire cars as soon as you spawn and choose keen hearing trait to see further behind your character so zombies are more noticeable when they sneak up on you
Once you find a good safe spot for your base grab a saw and hammer and disassemble some furniture for plants so you can board up the windows and doors around your base you can board up the same window and door multiple times
Get a generator early on (find them in garages and sheds of houses and buildings) since the electricity will cut out in a couple weeks in game
Only place generators outside because they will explode if they're placed indoors
Constantly check your surroundings
Stay quiet and dont attract any zombies
Dont click Q it will attract zombies around you
Avoid zombies unless absolutely necessary
And most importantly just have fun
Thats just some tips off the top of my head and the games is really in depth so if you want to learn more just watch videos theres a lot out there and theyre helpful, hell i still watch some guides after playing for 400+ hours 😅
The guy has been asking for kindergarten 2 for over a year now… Just give the man the kindergarten 2 video😂
Love the videos man, keep up the good work. 👍🏼 ❤ ( I need me some more project zomboid videos)
That’s wild bro I literally just restarted playing again this week with some friends, and you post a zomboid video within the same week is such a crazy coincidence.

Brysen playing one of my favorite games, this is about to be peak.

All these Zombie gameplays gotta be a sign. Don’t mind me. Just talking to myself.
Commenting this again, hopefully you see it.
