He's not in the club. So don't be silly. Imagine the world we would live in today, if someone like Carl Sagan had been President of the USA.
No wars since the 80's. No homelessness. Free healthcare in the USA. Serious steps towards total nuclear arms decomission. Huge boosts to science and technology funding, and education systems.
Know what would be different? There would be no billionaires. A dozen corporations would NOT control 1/2 the worlds wealth. Government really would be by the people, and for the people.

Problems of China and India border conflicts came from the mischiefs of British colonisers to ensure there won't be peace among the countries they gave independence unwillingly. If India and China cannot solved them now, they should leave them to wisdom of future generation leaders and settle amicably for time being instead of looking for a tree and missed the forest.

I am a fan of Mr. Jefferey Sachs. He speaks about PEACE to CONFLICT. He speaks about world brotherhood & development of Human life Standard. India should have a close relation with CHINA rather than following WARMONGERS strategy. Mr. Jefferey Sachs🙏🙏🙏.

I Agree with you. The best way to settle disputes is for India - China - Pakistan to sit and discuss all the disputed lands (inc Kashmir) make them Autonomous jointly administered by the nations that have claim on these lands. At the end of the day its the resident of these lands who decide their faith. their resources should not be robbed by nations claiming the right to their land.

It's really annoyed to see China and India creates tensions along the borders over piece of non arable land .
That borders are situated along Himalayan mountains with terrains not suitable to any parties who claims it .

India-china dialogue is OK but India must not EXPECT or DEPEND on China for help, unless given freely, if that is her purpose!
India should follow China's example, that is, to be self-reliant - China did it in more than 40+ years without outside help. So if India wants to be the next power house, just be patient and be self-reliant, you will reach the post with self-respect. Never be a hare but a tortoise to reach the winning post.
From the way India behaves towards China and vice versa, one can easily spot the problem in any dialogue between them. One always wants to know what China is up to, and if there is a flaw she can't wait for broadcast to the world!? Wherelse China is busy helping others, minding her own business.
First of all India should attend to the needs of her people while diplomatically attend to foreign policy especially be sure and be loyal not like now one leg in BRICS and one leg in 5-eyes to contain China!

I guess you’re reading wrong history books. China’s economy is built on industrial outsourcing by the West. Nixon government thought China will embrace democracy once they get rich by Western support. Still China’s economy is based on exports. So what are you talking about?

@@Aashu299 you are absolutely correct about china's economy , but i would politely argue about the west policy on china's embracing Democracy . US govt was pretty sure that china would never embrace democracy .......Chinas opened its economy to Foreign investments as it proved to be very effective mostly cheap labour and India follow the same poicy but a bit later than China.

@@I-LOVE-NORTHEAST-13-TIMES I don’t have to prove anything. It’s all on records. Nixon’s statement why US should support China, Kissinger’s visit to Beijing and support to Xaoping, everything is on record.

ir's easy to outline a world as it should be, but when you must work with homer sap, the goal must simply be to avoid disaster.
dr sachs can do the first half better than most, but neither he, nor anyone, has a plan or power to reach the alternative, more modest, goal.
we long ago hit on the notion of democracy, to make the activity of society most likely to be in the interest of the great majority.
but we haven't found a way to wrench power from the elites who rule us, and who will use murder, at any scale, to extend their wealth and power. their continuing reign is visibly ruining the planet for human life. and in the short term, usg is edging up to catastrophic war with prc
that is the central question of our day.
and it is in the 'too hard' basket.

Times are changing. This poverty battering ram is getting old and outdated. In 2000s alone, India uplifted 461 million people out of poverty.
And please get your facts correct 90-95% Indians have access to sanitation facilities as of 2019. And the poverty rate is also rapidly declining. In 2013, according to the World Bank, the extreme poverty rate was 24-25% but now it has been reduced to 3-4%(as of 2020).

China and India can both prosper, China wants bigger sphere of influence, they believe it can not be like the West, narrow white focus world will only go so far. Far right may disagree, they will go feudal if they could.
Historically, China was more a friend of the allied front than India was. Japan was big consideration that pushed them to the more trustable West. India had an incoherent relationship with the big powers, it can not lead them, it can not follow them either. They were not in either camp. Indians in general are confused people, you got to have a conviction to lead or be a follower. You can not play the world all the time.
