If you change the dunk mechanics because angles make you open.... then change the shooting mechanics too because your shot is considered open if your defender jumps/doesnt put hands up/guarding the wrong shooting hand, etc. This year only the somewhat skilled players use the dunk meter. I don't see randoms use the dunk meter much at all because it takes a little bit of skill to be consistent with it. I still get blocked even if I greened a standing dunk and I also get pushed out of my dunk animations into a standing layup. If anything, they need to boost dunk meters against mismatches.
@@ouuwee7 I agree a big reason you don't see a lot of people use the dunk meter is because the logic doesn't really make sense. If someone is standing in the paint with a 6'5 guard with 25 block you should be able to dunk on them with a big meter every time. But positioning is what matters and not ratings with dunk meters
63% from 3 with only a 76 rating is absolutely nuts man, you’re a god.
I like the way the meter works because I’ve gotten used to the positioning on offense and defense. Gold anchor really does be knocking people out of dunks, but it’s so expensive that it doesn’t seem worth the sacrifice. I think they could either make it less expensive or more powerful.
However I hope they don’t ever make it like layups where the timing can change midair. I’d rather have a small meter against a defender with good defense rather than a meter that moves like the layup meter.
@@The0nlyy yeah a lot of ways they can potentially mess it up. I still do think though if someone has a big with gold or hof anchor they should be able to shrink the meter size even if the slasher has a good angle. Gotta make block and interior defense mean something again for 2K25
@@TonicKeyboard agreed! I feel like the dunk meter should change like how the layup meter is when somebody is trying to contest that. yes if its open it should be huge but when the defender is riding the hip of the dunker the meter should adjust based on interior or block rating

With how overpowered immovable is I wouldn’t say you need to nerf the dunk meter on locks/defensive players, just tweak mechanics with positioning leading to small meter. I still get taken out of dunks on my 94 dunk if the defender has decent position and times their jump, even if I green the meter dunk
I been enjoying the meter and its def OP but if you're a good defender and have a good team behind you it can be neutralized to an extent. I like the logic behind it but yes it can use some tweaks for sure
I think strength matters on the dunk meter, cause I’ve been knocked outta the dunk meter animation on this game a few times, & that’s with 94 driving dunk 65 strength
i think the dunking is smooth , if you’re out of position it might be wraps for you🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
