I had one of these as a kid. I was so amazed by the advertisements showing the ball just floating there like magic. When I got the thing for Christmas I was immediately disappointed to see it was just a fan. Nowhere in the ads do I remember them showing the fan or saying a fan was involved. They made it look like real psychic powers. And the headband hurt like hell, even on the tiny head of a 9 year old.
I think this game was built from the template of another game I once got back in the early 2000’s. It was based on Harry Potter, and instead of using your mind to control the levitation, you had Harry in the middle, supposedly making the ball levitate with his wand. But literally everything else was pretty much the same- the fan, the obstacles, the mediocrity of it all, just in a different color of paint.
I own this exact edition of this game. I know for a fact that they tell you in the manual that the best things to do are thinking of math equations or something of
8:40 "Try to imagine all your thoughts are squeezed inside a cube, and the cube is in a garden, but the garden isn't real, and the cube is made of nothing."
I wonder if Scott and the boyos would ever be down to play a game of DnD for a video? Seems like they would be pretty good at it. I personally would love to see it.
I remember getting this thing for Christmas as a kid. I played with it for about 10 minutes and got rid of it a month later. I don't know how much it cost, but I'm sure it was too much.
I got one of these at a garage sale when I was a kid. I always thought it was really cool, although the head strap always hurt after only 15 minutes or so of use.
@@jlco i didn't really know what i was doing so i ended up gluing some wires to the lights on the base thing. then i connected those wires to a speaker under a chladni plate (sheet metal designed to create specific patterns in sand when you play certain frequencies). it was cool in concept but i didn't really have the software or hardware skills to make it really work.
Sega Pods would be cool. Ah marketing. Concentration, calmness, sensor view no idea. Brain impulses, heart rate. Break illusion. C batteries, flashlight/clock more worth.
Apparently these have more hardware than they actually use. A little soldering and that headband will provide some pretty neat sensors for the price, or so I hear. I've still got one sitting around somewhere; it was always kinda weird. I could tell it definitely wasn't total BS, but it was (unsurprisingly) finicky. And very uncomfortable. I mean absolutely awful to wear. I'd get headaches from it, and it's not emitting anything; it's just _that uncomfortable_ against your temples.
If you can put this thing first then that thing , along with that thing first then this thing, you have permutations, not combinations. Gosh, I need to get out more.
The reaction when they hear “C batteries “ is all too real.
The C stands for Carnage, Chaos, Catastrophic, and Calamity
Every time I hear C batteries my first thought is “where’s Eric when you need him 😔”

There’s something inexplicably hilarious about the notion of Eric thinking about Porky Pig as fast as he can.

I had one too and felt the same way. The headband always left an indent in my forehead.
Oh shit, this is when Eric was late to clubhouse cause he was getting batteries
it's a deep cut
This is giving “its late at night and we all tired as fuck” vibes and I love it lmao

is it bad that i automatically knew this video took place before and after the toy boxing episode of clubhouse games because they mentioned batteries
Words fail how confused I was when I saw that Scott uploaded this today. Turns out I got it early when I bought some of his merch.
I mean he probably has all 3 spider senses
💀
12:50 just made my day 🤣🤣 the delayed concern kills me (he’s a nurse)
They didn’t mention a fan in the commercials because no parents would buy this knowing it can with a loud ass fan 😂
Wasn't Eric bringing C batteries brought up in another Scott's Stash video?
they probably filmed it the same day. it was for toy boxing
I wonder if Scott and the boyos would ever be down to play a game of DnD for a video? Seems like they would be pretty good at it. I personally would love to see it.
I think I still have my mind flex at my home.

I remember seeing commercials for this all the time as a kid.
I remember in the early 2000s they released this as a Harry Potter toy, minus the headband.
wait, this is what they were talking about in that one video where they talk about batteries (toy boxing I think)
I cant believe this video is finally here. the greatest day

Did that require any weird software to decode the output or does it just spit out raw data?
