This is the product I have repurchased the most. I really love it
This is my favorite moisturizer! It is so nice and natural matte on my very, very oily-dehydrated skin. It doesn't dry me out, too. It's perfect for oily people who don't like the feeling of anything dewy, sticky, greasy, or wet on their face.
Also, when I accidentally damaged my moisture barrier and every product burned and stung on my skin, IUNIK's Centella Gel was one of the very few that did not irritate my skin. In fact, it was very calming and soothing, despite the fragrant ingredients.
I use this as buffer for my tretinoin at night, then use a heavier moisturizer after. And also before azelaic acid and sunscreen in the morning. It's really good! 💕
I’m Brazilian and love your vídeos
Thank for help all 🇧🇷
I use this at the end of my routine to seal everything in, and since it mattifies slightly it makes everything more comfortable
iUnik is so good, i love their Tea Tree Serum, Propolis Vitamin Serum, and Beta Glucan Moisturizer, theyre all amazing
This one is really really calming my skin. I extremely love it. 💚
I love this product as a guy because this is something that you can put on your skin at any time and it can never be "too much" or heavy because it is so light. I use it as for hydration. Everyone is so scared about fragrance, I barely notice it
I'm a girl but super oily, so I also don't like any product that I can really feel on my skin. Especially anything with a thick, dewy, or otherwise "wet" feeling. The IUNIK just disappears and I love it!
This, to me, is a perfect gel cream to layer under sunscreen for oily ppl 🥰 I personally wouldnt use it as it is
I was given a sample of the centella gel in a big K-Beauty order and from just that one use, I fell in love. Tea Tree and Centella are superstars for me. That was last summer and trying to remember what I loved about it. I believe it provided instant relief to my irritated red skin, felt cooling and provided enough hydration to my dehydrated/acne prone skin. I heard they changed the ingredients since I had my sample. 🤞Amazon just delivered a tube of the revised formula in my mailbox. Hopefully, I love it as much or more as their previous formulation.
This is really a great gel cream for acne-prone skin , especially i use this aftershaving the face it soothes the skin immediately . Calms the redness quiickly.
I have combo/oily & acne-prone skin and this moisturizer is my absolute holy grail for daytime use during the summer. It's one of those products that I know it's doing something because I notice the difference when I stop using it. I feel like it calms my redness and is very soothing in general, and my skin always feels and looks healthier and more even while using it. It's also a perfect summer moisturizer because it can be layered with toner, serum and sunscreen without ever feeling heavy.
I like to pair it with iUnik's tea tree relief serum, another one of my absolute favorite products.
It is a really wonderful summer time moisturizer, never feels greasy either!
Yes! I love how lightweight it is. Absolutely PERFECT for summer.
I dont have sensitive skin at all, I use strong actives & love fragranced products--this is the only skincare product thats made my skin burn! I wish I knew what it was. I keep wanting to retry it
Very fascinating. This is why I find Skincare so interesting. Some people will react to the most simple product but not to some that you would think would irritate them.
I DO have sensitive, highly reactive skin. However, there is a difference between real irritation where you should cease use and initial tingling/flushing upon application that dissipates fairly quickly. My skin loves niacinamide, but it will often turn red and sting upon application. Same with all CeraVe products. It quickly dissipates and overall reduces any redness. Centella and propolis tends to cause some initial very mild tingling/stinging sometimes and redness, but it dissipates quickly and my skin overall tolerates these well and I get amazing results. Now when I have actual irritation to a product, I may have little to no irritation upon application, but my skin gets redder and more irritated the longer it is on my face and even after washing it off, my skin can take weeks to recover from the irritation.
Just a thought.
@@krisr3612 Hi! That's valuable information thank you for sharing it. I'm a nosy little bee and want to ask a bunch of questions! 🌻🌼🌷🍀🌵🐝?!
I am trying to learn tact and communication skills so I'll just leave that as an invitation/ request. With thanks again! 😊
Just got mine yesterday and I already love it
LOVE this one - fab for my rosacea-prone skin! 💫💚
Was literally just looking at this product !
My skin should freak out with this - between the bergamont, tea tree, limonene and linalool, my allergic contact dermatitis should have been set off. But I used an entire tube last summer with no problems. Go figure. I really liked the gel texture in the hotter weather. I have a new tube for this summer, and I'm hoping my skin is still happy with it.
I think my skin really likes licorice. Every time I have something in rotation with that ingredient, the worst of my redness seems to go away. It's one of a long list of plants in the iUnik product, but I wonder if that's part of why my skin liked it so much.
I do wonder how much of those fragrance ingredients are in this because I also haven't had any issues and I don't really even notice the scent, it must not be much?!
@@NOBSBeauty now I'm wondering if I used the older formulation. I'm going to have to patch test my new tube just in case. Argh.
@@NOBSBeauty and I have 2 tubes of the newer formula. Ugh. I hope that wasn't a waste of money.
This product ruined my skin, it gave me contact dermatitus and got even worse, my skin is still recovering after a year, I thought I developed rosacea but not sure
@@susiebolt4021 Fingers crossed. I tried a sample of the old formula last summer and instantly loved it. I just got a tube of the new formula delivered. Since I only have the one use sample for comparison, I would love to hear how it compares to the previous formula of you get the chance. 🤞😉😁
Please review hyram's skincare line! I want to watch your review cause I find you trustworthy. Take care
Very happy for him, sounds like it will be an interesting line!
Hello, thank you for the iUNIK Centella Calming Gel Cream!
We never use artificial fragrances nor coloring, so feel safe to use iUNIK products :)
Centella Calming Gel Cream is perfect for oily skin ! 💚
Hi. I like many of Iunik products. Can't wait for you to review on the black snail recovery cream~😃
ive used this one for a year basically, at first it was fine for my really oily skin but as time went by it definitely didnt do much for my skin, its barely hydrating and as my skin condition changed i had to switch it to morning before my sunscreen just to give some sort of moisture to my skin ahaha not enough for night at all to be honest,, but when im breaking out and nothing else works this does. Nothing in this product irritates my skin!!! Its just not hydrating enough
Do you think that it's better than the Rovectin Clean Lotus Water Cream? 👀
Both are wonderful- I would say if your skin tends to be very dry or sensitive I'd go with the Lotus Water Cream. If your skin is on the oily side I'd go with the Iunik.
@@NOBSBeauty Thanks!! 🙏 And for the acne prone and combination skin type which one would you recommend?
I'd love to know your opinion on the brand Axis-y!❤❤
I was thinking about buying this for my sensitive acne prone skin friend for a moisturizer (its actually in my cart). I already got her the purito centella serum. Should I get her this moisturizer or do you different recommendations?
The Centella Unscented Serum is always a good product so sounds like you picked that up for her! Do you know if her skin is sensitive to fragrances? If it is super sensitive to scent the Benton Centalla Redness Gel might be worth checking out- it is this one: www.yesstyle.com/en/benton-goodbye-redness-centella-gel/info.html/pid.1072579020
A newer brand called One Thing also has a Centella Moisturizer (I just ordered it but have not tried it) that is also fragrance free and worth considering- www.yesstyle.com/en/one-thing-centella-soothing-cream/info.html/pid.1102987390
Just depends on how sensitive her skin is, but if it is super sensitive and acne prone I think the Benton is worth considering.
As someone with oily, acne-prone skin, I love everything about this gel cream _except_ for the fragrances. Also, I heard that bergamot oil can be phototoxic due to furocoumarins, so I'm was concerned about wearing it out in the day. What would you advise?
Anyway, I just discovered your channel today and I love your videos! Especially loving the sunscreen series you have (cos I'm looking for a good sunscreen after all the controversy last year)!
So glad you found me here! So, there isn't really a right answer to your question. Bergamot oil can be phototoxic, but most people don't have that reaction, and you can lessen the likelihood by making sure you use a good sunscreen over it. The amount of bergamot oil in this product is small (although I wish they would remove it from their formula). If you are not religious about sunscreen (doesn't sound like the case, though) during the daytime then I would recommend switching to a different moisturizer. This article might be helpful, it does mention how rare the issue of bergamot phototoxicity is: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/11511848/
@@NOBSBeauty Thank you so much for taking the time to give such a detailed reply!
You have a new fan! :) Keep up the amazing work with all your videos!
I have combination acne prone skin. Bought the centella gel cream a couple of weeks ago and it is the best moisturiser for the summer. Didn’t broke me out and I’ve been using it in the morning and evenings. My only “argh” thing is that it doesnt get along very well with my The Ordinary Mineral Spf. I mean, the spf took about 30 minutes to get absorbed into my skin before but with the gel cream it takes about 45 minutes. Thankfully,I have the time in the morning.
I have found The Ordinary Mineral Sunscreen can be quite temperamental. Although when you use it over just the right moisturizer I really enjoy it!
@@NOBSBeauty it works great with their TO NMF and although many people hate it, it’s the only one that I can use on my eyelids and around my eyes.
I really love this moisturizer. It felt like my skin was taking a big drink and it performed really well in my high altitude desert environment! Usually gels with hyaluronic acid in it wind up making moisture leave my skin throughout the day here, but it worked really well. My skin felt healthy when I was using it, I was so sad when I used it up. I definitely have to repurchase. I was worried when you were talking about it with that tone 😅 I hope they reformulate without fragrance. Haven't tried the other, interested to hear what you have to say about the others!
My skin loves centella, but I wouldn't risk the money on this because of both the fragrance and the long ingredient list, since I have sensitive skin. I am enjoying the purito unscented centella toner right now. It's weird how my skin has no reaction to some products with fragrance, but occasionally it gets super irritated and rashy with some fragrances. Even from candles burning or some perfumes or shampoos if my skin comes in contact. Bizarre I know, but I do have some moisturizers, serums and shampoos with fragrance that my skin is fine with. Go figure
I'm also enjoying the Purito Centella Unscented Toner and their Unscented Centella Cream is also very nice. They seem to do a nice job listening to consumers.
@@NOBSBeauty yes, you're right they do. I'm thinking about trying that cream or serum, but are they good under sunscreen/makeup? I like that I can use the toner in the am
Nice product but it contains a high amount of bergamot essential oil which can cause serious irritation and rash as well as the radish and myrrha extracts. I also can spot some other potential irritants such as Limonene and linalool therefore no wonder why many people are complaining about it and don’t like it. I really don’t understand why these companies keep spoiling their products by adding unnecessary essential oils and fragrances especially when these products are meant to sooth and calm skin.
I couldn't agree with you more- it wasn't until someone posted it that I realized they actually had a fragrance free version of this, then reformulated it to add in the essential oils and I *think* the version I have is the original unscented version. Makes total sense why Lincoln didn't pick up the fragrance in it. Such a bummer that they would take a good product and make it worse by adding in those oils. I'll never understand it.
I have really oily skin, but somehow this dried me the heck out. I am really not sure how it happened. It's a bummer because it feels so nice...but 10 minutes later, my face is a barren desert D:
Sometimes you just don't know until you try it. I wonder if your skin didn't like one of the extracts they used? So fascinating to me, skin is so interesting how it reacts to certain ingredients.
I think you need to seal it with a heavier cream:) as this doesn't include to much oclusives ingredientes
It's great, but definitely not moisturizing enough to wear on its own for my Sahara desert skin. I usually top it with CeraVe PM since it's not too heavy, either.
if you live in a place with very low humidity, it could be because of the hyaluronic acid
Thanks for this, I'm with you on the fragrance though....I use tretanoin everynight and I just can't cope with the fragrance 🤨 any suggestions for a 42 year old with oily skin that's looking for a light but hydrating moisturiser for the morning under sunscreen? Ps. Such a cute puppy! 😍 pps. I'm uk based xxx
The Versed Dew Point Moisturizing Gel Cream is really nice and super affordable, no fragrance, I think it is at CultBeauty now, too. The Round Lab Birch Juice Moisturizer is also really nice, hydrating, but not greasy feeling, no fragrance either. The I'm From Vitamin Tree Water Gel is a very nice gel moisturizer- very friendly for acne prone skin and no fragrance. One more is the Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Gel- works very nice for sensitive skin, huge bottle (can be used on face and body), no fragrance, wonderful gel texture. Have you tried any of those before?
@@NOBSBeauty I really love the illiyoon cream at night but it's too heavy for the day. I will take a look at the others, thanks so much for the recommendations VERY much appreciate you taking the time 🤗🥰😉
Sarah! You always get an A+ from me for your great videos 💪🏼🙌🏼 😉 I have bought this last summer, I actually need to finish it by August. Hmmm I am on the fence with it. It reminds me so much if the Neutrogena hydro boost gel cream. Can be little drying depending on what mineral SPF I am using on the day
Very interesting, but correct observation on this texture and similarities to the Hydro Boost. If Iunik had kept this fragrance free I'd recommend it all day long, but sadly, they added fragrance which just isn't great for most skin.
I love this product but their beta glucan serum and moisturizer is my favorite.
Could you please review Holi frog's new cream Grand amino cushin cream its said to be better than DE protini
Oh yes, I've been testing it out, really nice product! The ingredients are great, the texture is a little different, definitely will review it asap.
I’m also curious about the new Holifrog cream!!
Weird question but I saw arginine was in the ingredients list. I know having too much of it in your body can cause cold sores which I get sometimes. Can putting this or another product containing arginine cause a cold sore?
I did some research on pubmed and couldn't find anything relating to topical application of arginine. Typically there is a huge difference between taking something orally and applying it topically- sometimes there is not a difference. I don't *think* applying something with arginine could cause a cold sore when there isn't one, but that is just my educated guess. There just isn't a lot of research on it when topically applied relating to the cold sore issue, but if anyone has any other info feel free to jump in.
@@NOBSBeauty thank you so much for taking the time to look into it! I really appreciate it. From the reading I also did I can completely agree with your educated guess
i bought iunik centella calming gel on your recommendation but my skin broke out 😭😭😭 . I already struggled a lot to clear my acne but now once again . i already used tea tree products but this one broke me out which I don't understand 😭
So sad to hear- it does seem to work well for a lot of acne prone skin, but I wonder if it could be the fragrance in it that caused the reaction? It's tough because sometimes you don't know until you try it, or it could be possibly an ingredient that just doesn't agree with your skin. Was there any ingredients that stuck out to you as one you have had issues with in the past?
@@NOBSBeauty ingredient list is pretty good but don't know why it broke me out
is it safe to use around the eye area?
In general yes, although if you have sensitive eyes (mine are sensitive to fragrances and alcohol) then I would avoid the eye area- other than the fragrance the rest of the ingredients are eye safe.
@@NOBSBeauty thank you very much 🥺🥺❤️❤️
Love your shirt! Mind sharing where you bought it? 😁
I bought it a while ago but they still carry it!!! It is this one: www.venus.com/viewproduct.aspx?BRANCH=7~63~&ProductDisplayID=60694
Thank you so much for the link! I've never shopped this website but I'm already filling my basket 😁 Appreciate it!
do you happen to know what is the percentage of niacinamide in this?
They don't advertise it, although my educated guess based on the ingredient list would be around 2%.
Looked at this before and would've tried this if it didn't have the tea tree or bergamot. I use their beta glucan daily moisture cream which I really like
How heavy is the beta glucan cream? I've been looking at that one but wonder if it would suit oily/combo skin.
@@janiceh6620 I have combo skin and like it :). It's not a heavy cream, it's more like a moisturiser.
@@Renee-vz3cx sweet; thank you!
I'm excited to check out the Beta Glucan Cream- going to have to pick it up!
Hi Sarah I haven't tried this one and tbh won't as it's not targeted at my very dry, rosacea and eczema prone skin. I do really like the beta glucan serum they make though - it's a winner and a favourite for a hydrating simple serum.
Iunik as a brand use too many fragrant components/extracts/EO for my skin. I tried the black snail serum and had a horrible rash - even on my patch test. The cosrx snail products have never caused me any irritation, so it's not the snail extract I would assume? It is loaded though with all these other "extracts" - many of which are fragrant and I can only surmise this is the issue for my skin. To be fair it's a product many people seem to love (as is the corresponding cream) and I am super sensitive. It has put me off trying more of their products though tbh, as the reaction was so severe and immediate - taking several days to heal. I really want to caution those with sensitive skin to patch test this brand prior to using - no matter the hype.
I'm glad you're enjoying it and also you haven't had a reaction to it, even on your neck. Looking through the comments I'm not alone in having a reaction to some of their products. I know it's heavily recommended on some of the beauty content creators with a huge audience eg Hyram, but I seriously doubt it will work for everyone. Best wishes.
I really wish Iunik would make this fragrance free- it used to be, and I suspect that the version I have is before they added the fragrance. This brand seems to be super hit or miss, I'm with you. Really enjoyed the Beta Glucan Serum from them and just ordered the moisturizer. I agree with you- this brand seems to be good for some, but obviously not for everyone because of the darn fragrant extracts they added.
So bummed ☹️ about the fragrance .
I have really gotten past the centella hype. As someone with rosacea, I found that centella products didn't help much at all. Green tea is the only plant that has impressed me really
Also, I must swap my yesstyle rewards code for yours. I used to just use one from Reddit
Oh you're too sweet, thank you, it really helps me get a better chance of trying more products out to review instead of taking them from the brands. I really don't get how someone could take something from a brand and not feel pressured to say good things. 🤷♀️
@@NOBSBeauty brands are definitely smart keeping close relationships with influencers. If you think about Hyram, for example, the brands he usually promotes are the ones who have him on their affiliate programme: FAB, Skinfix, YTTP. And it takes months to create skincare products so I would consider promoting The Inkey List a financial interest during that period. Some other brands clearly keep strong influencers relations like Purito and Glow Recipe but Purito was kind of screwed by the scandal. Their new exfoliant looks great though
Hi I have rosacea (plus eczema) and find centella really soothing on my skin - isn't it interesting how we're all so different? The hyped soothing ingredient I found did nothing for me is mugwort/artemesia - wasn't even all that hydrating tbh. Other people with irritated skin love it - so weird lol. I do like green tea too and use a lot of products containing that ingredient. I can't say I find it overly soothing, but nor do I react to it and do find it hydrating. Centella takes down some redness for my skin and just works well, but formulation is key and something like this with the tea tree and fragrance won't work for me. Best wishes.
Funny how different products work for each of us. Honestly, cheap B5 helps the most with my redness. I stopped using it to try centella, but I'm definitely seeing how well it was working now that I've stopped! I buy mine from Timeless every time they have a sale. All we can do is keep trying until we find one that helps, right? 🤷🏻♀️
I have this. It would be perfect if it was unscented or fragrance free.
I couldn't agree with you more!
Not my favorite product from iUnik because of all the fragrance components. Really liked their Beta Glucan cream. That was a favorite!!❤️❤️
PS-please read my text!!
@@haundry I said fragrance components-not artificial fragrance. It has bergamot oil, limonene and linalool.
@@haundry Troll somewhere else.
Hey I am beginner to skin care.
So I wanted to start with cleanser and moisturizer first. I have combination skin.
Can I use purito defense barrier ph cleanser and your mentioned moisturizer?
Can anyone give suggestions or share their experience if they had used them
Purito just reformulated the Defense Barrier Cleanser to remove the fragrance and I definitely recommend it now- it is pretty gentle, yet does a great job cleansing. I think you certainly can use this moisturizer after the purito- it is a great place to start. If your skin tends to be on the drier side i might recommend checking out the Purito Centella Unscented Recovery Cream, it works very nicely for dry skin types. The biggest thing with skincare is finding a good sunscreen that you enjoy using. Have you found any so far that you like using?
@@NOBSBeautyFirst of all Thank you for taking the time to reply,I really appreciate it💜
I want to take small steps first that's why I am thinking to buy Missha essence sun milk sunscreen after 2/3 weeks of using the cleanser and moisturizer 😊
ANYONE KNOW WHAT CHANGES THEY MADE TO THIS CENTELLA GEL FORMULA WHEN IT WAS REDONE LAST YEAR??
It appears that when they reformulated it they added the fragrant extracts such as bergamot oil, limonene, linalool. The original version did not contain those.
@@NOBSBeauty It doesn't feel the same to me as when I tried the original formula last summer. The new one feels more siliconey and it doesn't feel as hydrating, refreshing and soothing/cooling as I recall. I just bought the new tube and used it once. I will keep trying but this doesn't seem like the same product to me.
Unfortunately, my skin hates this gel☹ It made it really oily, dehydrated and irritated.
Yeah, I'm oily too but, this was not enough hydration for me. I always woke up dry unfortunately.
Have you tried the iunik beta glucan daily moisture cream? It has no fragrance and a gel texture. I love it! I use it as my daily moisturizer and then I use the protini at night.
I am so excited to try it- just ordered it last night- I've heard good things and am so excited to give it a whirl!
Yeah I got bumps on my skin
Did this get uploaded twice?♡
It did, the first version had a download error I did not see until it was released. 🤦♀️
O no, they changed the formula! I'm still using the old version I bought last year, and really like it. But they changed it now. Now it contains Limonene en Linalool. On amazon you can read why they changed it, at the part 'Customer questions & answers' of the product at the Iunik official store. I've contacted customer service of my Korean skincare supplier and hope they still have stock of the old version. Fingers crossed!
Btw: I want to send you the link, but somehow UA-cam always deletes my comment when I add a link, is that normal?
the old version had this ingredient list:
Centella Asiatica Leaf Water,Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Water,Butylene Glycol,Water,Methyl Trimethicone,Niacinamide,1,2-Hexanediol,Arginine,Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer,Caprylyl Glycol,Pentylene Glycol,Dimethicone,Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer,Allantoin,Ethylhexylglycerin,Adenosine,Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate,Isopropyl Myristate,Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil,Centella Asiatica Extract,Sodium Hyaluronate,Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract,Aspalathus Linearis Extract,Medicago Sativa (Alfalfa) Extract,Brassica Oleracea Capitata (Cabbage) Leaf Extract,Cyclohexane,Brassica Oleracea Italica (Broccoli) Extract,Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Extract,Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Extract,Brassica Campestris (Rapeseed) Extract,Raphanus Sativus (Radish) Seed Extract,Perilla Frutescens Leaf Extract,Commiphora Myrrha Resin Extract,Yucca Schidigera Root Extract
Uh oh. I have an unopened tube I bought some time last year. I hope it's the old formulation.
Oh that makes so much sense, I'm wondering if I also had the original version of it? Very interesting. UA-cam is out of control automatically deleting comments. Seems to delete good comments but still not deleted the spammers. So frustrating.
Even more a bummer to see they changed this formula to add the fragrance, I'm guessing they won't listen to me now.
