Very good video. It's interesting seeing the old UI again, I'd forgotten how clean it was. Perhaps something for the critics of FM25's new look to think about!
Thank you mate, that's very kind of you. Yeah i couldn't agree more with you, it was really refreshing to play a season on it, it felt more fluid and generally had a lot more variation in the play in my opinion. Yeah that's an interesting point too, it would be interesting if they return to these old editions for some inspiration for FM25
Pablo Piatti played for my Argentina’ Copa America winning team in FM 2012 & he played really well in that competition. Happy to see he played brilliantly with your Derby C team .
That's sounds fun, who else did you have in squad for that tournament? Yeah he was amongst our best players for sure! Sadly i think a lot of big clubs were after him after our relegation got confirmed
Lol i'm sorry you had to endure the Gregg Berhalter era. That Copa America campaign was dreadful! I had a lot of hope for him on this experiment too, but he was not great at all.
This takes me back, the simplicity of the game, new games have a lot of good stuff but I do miss the older games. Eddie Johnson was my go to guy in this game, unreal goal record no matter the team I signed him for
Yeah i agree with you there, so much easier to play and way less time consuming. Playing this full season took less than 9 hours. That sounds great though, which teams did you sign him with?
A young Kieran McKenna makes an appearance haha! Thanks for the great video, my dad is a Derby fan and this video brings back a lot of memories of the time where they were half decent.
Lol you have a great eye to detail! Thank you, i appreciate it, i'm glad you enjoyed and brought back some good memories! How do you think think they will get on this season? I'm hoping to head to Pride Park and catch one of their games later in the year, they're a big club it would be nice if they could make a playoff push.
I can relate - recently I propelled 1860 Munich from 3rd Bundesliga straight into the Bundesliga in just two years. The issue was that half of the team were the players of the 3rd Bundesliga standard who were there at the start just 2 seasons ago. The budget simply didn't allow me to replace them. Needless to say - I "did a Derby", with 0:5 and 1:7 scorelines appearing embarrassingly regularly. It got so bad that I left voluntarily halfway through the season having won just two games in 20 and accumulated around 9 or 10 points. The game was actually depressing to play and I could feel it. Interestingly enough, the team then went straight down into the 3rd Bundesliga with two successive relegations. Those years must had been quite a rollercoaster of emotions for fans, I am sure.
That's interesting, and pretty impressive to get back to back promotions! It's a shame when the game leaves you hamstrung like that with no money to actually compete in the division you've been promoted to, i agree with you there, there's nothing worse than playing FM knowing you're going to lose every weekend lol
Agreed, love this challenge format. Maybe something like trying to better Chelsea’s defensive record in 04/05 or just trying to win a trophy with spurs in any FM past 2008!
That's interesting, which clubs did you bring him to? That was the first time i've played with him and i was impressed. Glad you enjoyed the video though, hope you have a great weekend!
this was entertaining 😊 now, do a part 2 video where you show how you saved Derby (this will likely involve you redoing the season until you get it). i think it would be fun see you try different tactics and purchases.
Yeah i'm not sure what UA-cam liked about this video, but they certainly liked something lol. Thank you, i'm glad you enjoyed it. Hope you have a great week : )
Just found your channel and that was a really great video! Will you do some longer rebuild style series/videos with teams that went down in old seasons?
Thank you, that's very kind of you i appreciate it! Yeah definitely going to try some other challenge style videos soon so keep your eyes peeled for those!
Al principio esperaba una gran temporada con los refuerzos, luego con la llegada de Vieri esperaba un milagro, pero queda claro que ese plantel era insalvable. Great video!
Yeah i agree with you there, i was hopeful too with the first signings. Vieri was probably the best really, it's a shame i didn't try and sign him at the beginning of the season. Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video! Hope you have a great rest of your week
Just found your channel through this video. Fantastic stuff, I have a lot of empathy for this battle given I’m trying to keep Ipswich in the Prem with this season’s update!
Thanks man i appreciate it! You're channel looks great too, will definitely check out your challenge video, keeping up Ipswich is going to be very difficult too i imagine.
Love these videos 👌 I genuinely think a bit of music in the background would take them to the next level 👊 Any chance you fancy doing a Watford video from FM18 when we got to the FA Cup final? Maybe see if you can have a better season with them?👀 Keep up the good work though, looking forward to seeing more content 🙏
Thank you, that's very kind of you, definitely keep an eye out for future videos coming soon! That's a great suggestion with the music, definitely something i'll look into on the video production! Also great suggestion for Watford, definitely add that to my list! How do you think Watford will get on this season? It looks like they've made a decent start
Loved FM 08. Glad to see Dave Jones performing well for you. He was always a go to for championship saves in that year for me. Developed hugely and very quickly to have a lot of blue (as it was in that game) attributes.
You're right about that, such a fun edition of FM! Yeah i agree with you there, that was the first time i've ever used him and he was invaluable. Quite a few teams kept trying to sign him throughout the season, and if he'd left i don't think we'd have won a game lol!
I'm doing this myself now, so far won 1, drew 1 and lost 4 (also beat Leicester in the league cup). Pretty much totally different signings to what you made, I did come close to signing Mendieta but decided he wasn't worth it. I'm playing a 5-2-3 using Howard as a target man with supply to head and it's worked well at times. Have Miller and Earnshaw playing either side of him. Just long passing, quick tempo, all crossing aim for target man. Have full backs running forward often, crosses often from deep. I have the option of switching to a 4-4-2 but haven't done so far, got Adam Johnson on loan from Boro, James Collins from West Ham. Also signed Olivier Tebily, Alin Stoica, Miroslav Karhan, Steve Marlet, Quinton Fortune.
Awesome, that sounds like a promising start! Looks like you've made some interesting signings too. How have you found using Howard as a target man, has he managed to get many goals so far? I couldn't get him firing unfortnately, but attributes wise he seemed like a decent player! Also as a Fulham fan, glad to hear you signed Marlet, how was he performed for you?
@@ReteroFMAside from being really slow Howard is a great target man, links up play well, wins nearly all headers though hasn't actually scored yet but his main role is to win knock downs and flick ons for Earnshaw and Miller, and for my attacking central midfielder. Marlet has just been coming on as a sub so far doing ok, haven't played the game for a little while now but once I've finished the season I'll report back.
@@cns180784 That's interesting, looks you're getting some decent production out of him. Agree with you there on the pace front too, i think i played a counter attacking style and unfortunately he was incompatible with that. Nice! That sounds great to me, look forward to hearing how the rest of your season goes!
@@ReteroFM He was at Spurs as a youngster but then got a career ending injury and never played again. That’s why he’s been in coaching for 17 years but is only 38. Guess the game was created before his injury and he ended up at derby!
That's a shame his career ended like that, but makes sense if he's been coaching for so long. Yeah you're right, it must've been released just before and he's in there as a player afterall
I remember trying this years ago, I either went down the first season then came straight back up and stayed up for years or I survived and continued in Prem. I signed Matthias Almeyda on a free and got Mauro Zarate in and was brilliant
Good video of a classic FM game which is all I've been playing lately. In my 4th season as Fiorentina and enjoying it, built a really good squad. Won the Europa League in my second season and finished 4th last season. My current main starting 11 is; GK- Vlada Avramov RB- Javi Venta LB- Manuel Pasqual CB- Andrea Coda CB- Dario Dainelli RM- Mario Santana LM- Adrian Mutu CM- Andrea Pirlo CM- Marco Donadel CM- Samir Nasri CF- Giampaolo Pazzini
Thank you mate i appreciate it! That sounds great fun, looks like your assembling a great team! Who's been your best performers in your save? Has Mutu been good for you? I've always wanted to sign him on FM but never had chance to yet.
@@ReteroFM Pirlo has been my best performer overall but Nasri has been really good too, though not in the current season but he did have a few injuries. Pazzini was a beast in the first two seasons, also I signed Iaquinta from Juve for just £2.8m he's been great but he's just been injured long term with a slipped disc. Pirlo only cost £2.2m because he was pushed out at Milan, absolute bargain. I got Riquelme on a free, he's been good.
Pirlo has been my best overall performer, scored many free kicks and consistently gets at least 3 key passes a game. Mutu has been really good, he got top assister in the first season I think, along with second top goalscorer. Pazzini was a beast in the first two seasons. Also Nasri has been very good. Signed Luis Jimenez from Ternana for £2.8m, bargain as was Pirlo for £2.2m. Got Riquelme on a free he's been good too.@@ReteroFM
Wow you've got a great eye for a bargain on FM! That's great that Milan wanted to get rid of Pirlo, bet you couldn't believe your luck lol! That sounds great fun though, hope you can get your hands on the serie a title soon!
Thing you can do, but almost no body knows is you can create multiple manager in one save file. You can save this with mass destruction on every other teams.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! That's a good idea, definitely something i will look into, may have to be on a different FM though as on 2008 i am absolutely terrible lol.
Thank you, i'm glad you enjoyed it! Yeah that's a good point, i'd forgotten about him too until this challenge. In reality i thought he was a pretty decent player, unfortunately with Derby i just didn't get the best out of him
Just found your channel and subscribed as I’ve been a massive fan of CM/FM since the very first one. My favourites are CM96/97 (the first Bosman frees and regens were retired players so you could find John Barnes’s regen etc), CM2003 (I’m a Saints fan and you could win the Premier League with Saints without signing any players) and FM 2007. I prefer the older, uncomplicated versions!
Thanks for subscribing! That sounds great, i've never played CM 96/97. How approachable are those earlier championship managers, are they simple to get started with? I'd love to try and play one. That's sounds fun too, how do you think Southampton will get on this season? I was a little surprised they haven't signed more players. I totally agree with you there about the uncomplicated versions, doing this challenge it only took me around 9 hours to play a full season.
@@ReteroFM From memory, Cm96 was incredibly easy to play, easily do a season in a few hours if that and teams would regularly score over ten goals. No goal animation either, just text. It’s a shame it’s a DOS game I’m not technically minded enough to use DOS emulators as I’d love to play it again one day. It was very database-y so simple to get to grips with. Saints were rubbish in that game though, even prime Le Tissier wasn’t great. As for modern Saints, we have signed good players but haven’t done enough in attack I reckon!
That sounds great fun, yeah i think i'm with you there not sure how to use those emulators. It would be great if somehow the process could be simplified to get those older games running again. That's surprising about Le Tissier, always enjoyed watching him play. Ahh fair, well i hope you guys do well this season!
To be honest i'm not too sure about graphics packs, a year or so ago somehow mentioned in a comment there weren't any available for FM05-07. I presume that it's probably the same for this edition. Good luck on the challenge though! Don't make the same mistakes i did lol
Nothing could save our side that season, not even devine intervention. Miller and Earnshaw, with Darren Moore in the heart of defence... and Robbie Savage in midfield. Just looking at that squad now makes it obvious 😆.
Lol i agree with you there, whoever thought assembling that squad for Premier League survival was a bold thinker! Darren Moore gave me a few nightmares to say the least, i'm sure he'd have done a lot better, if he wasn't 35 years old lol
I've been playing FM08 recently and probably because it's the launch version 8.0.0 instead of the updated databases, Derby aren't hopeless. Dave Jones, Giles Barnes, and with a bit more time Nyatanga & Lewis Price could be good players. In an old save I used Oakley, Todd, & Teale as backups for a few seasons too (and McEveley until Nyatanga starts to mature). CBs and ST needed a huge upgrade though. Piatti was a great player, but I could never get a work permit for him!
That's interesting, i only played the one season so didn't look much into their youth system to be honest. You're right about that though, i kind of regret not using Giles Barnes more in this experiment, i think it was just the formation not having a winger so didn't really anywhere to play him. How did Todd perform for you? At the beginning i had very high hopes, but he was a bit of a disaster! That's interesting too, i'll have to check out Nyatanga i didn't see him on the play through. Yeah that was my first time signing him luckily i got the work permit, and definitely don't have any buyers remorse lol
That must've been a baptism of fire on a brand new game! I find a new edition of FM hard enough without going to the worst team in premier league history lol
These were the instructions i followed to get the game running on Windows 10: www.reddit.com/r/footballmanagergames/comments/ji5620/fm_2005200620072008_windows_10_fix/ not sure if it will work on 11 though as i haven't tried that before
Hey i have a question i have been playing for a while fm 2005 version 5.0. 2 because it's the only one that works on windows 10 at least for me, can you tell me something about tactics, I do literally everything team instruction I set for rivals, I try 1 all the time, change player instruction or no change I try everything but I never get success and so far I play good teams like barcelona, real, arsenal etc people on youtube or forums don't set anything 0 player instruction, team instruction everything in the middle and they win everything what is the point here, I try to set everything, but I also tried like them not setting almost nothing always comes out wrong, I do not say that I want to win all the time because it is clear that it is impossible, at home I still win somehow but away it does not help anything neither creative freedom nor counter nor man marking I really tried everything : D menatlity rules of two, 5x5 seriously i try everything but nothing works in fm 2006 i was still able to play mentality rules of two it helped a lot and i set there literally every player individually creative freedom etc and it really works, in 2005 nothing works :D Sorry for my english. Greetings
That's a great question. In all honesty, from my experience i actually find the oppositie to be true. I have a lot more success playing on FM05, personally i try and play quite an offensive 442 with attacking full backs, and that tends to do well for me. On the other hand, when i play FM06 i find that game to be a lot more difficult lol. In the past i've played with some of the biggest clubs in the world and literally struggled to get them in the top half of the table. I'm sorry i don't have any real specific tactical advice, but i'm sure you'll figure something which works for you! Also your English is great!
@@ReteroFM Do you play more globally or individually for each player or differently? I'm trying everything already but tell me one thing, do you think that for example playing barcelona, real those best teams will be able to win in 1 season because I do tests in 1/2 season and as I see people on youtube internet play for years and only in 3/4 season you see results maybe I want to achieve success too fast and you have to be patient, I change all settings in global instruction etc, and I see that people for years play all the time the same. I try to adjust every match to the opponent, but it doesn't seem to work well how it looks like for you? Because I don't see any other option anymore :D I am trying everything in this 2005 and nothing works maybe the team just needs time. Sorry but I'm writing here and here because I don't know if you write back on old videos :D In general, tell me if you play differently at home/away how it looks like, what you change, etc. write as much information as possible if you have time thanks
That's a good question, i'm not totally sure if there's a downloadable version. I picked it up on Ebay for around 10 pounds brand new though and it runs alright on windows 10, not sure if it runs on 11. I've never played CM 01/02, would you recommend that? Do you run that on a disc or is there a download for it?
I'm running it via a disc copy on windows 10. I followed these instructions to get it running: www.reddit.com/r/footballmanagergames/comments/ji5620/fm_2005200620072008_windows_10_fix/ I'm not sure if these will work on Mac though but i hope they help you
2010 i think is slightly more difficult to acquire, but i bought 2008 on ebay a few years back brand new for around 10 pounds. You may have add a patch but it was pretty straightforward to get it running, that's the link i followed below for instructions: www.reddit.com/r/footballmanagergames/comments/ji5620/fm_2005200620072008_windows_10_fix/
For some reason I cant directly reply to your last comment, not all of my players have been bargains and i face losing Pirlo at the end of the season as hes out of contract and hes hoping for a big move. I don't have anywhere near the spending power of the Milan clubs, Roma or Juventus but sometimes you don't need a lot of money to bring in quality. Riquelme on a free has probably been the best value signing. Have you seen him? Technical genius with great mentals too. One thing i wished i had done different was i could have signed Van Der Vaart on a free at one point and Roma ended up getting him. I could have then cashed in on Nasri and used that money to buy another good CB and RB, especially a RB as Javi Venta is 35 now.
Yeah i'm not sure why UA-cam does that when trying to reply to comments. Ahh that could be tricky if you lose Pirlo, i hope he decides to stay with you. Yeah he was a great player, how has Riquelme performed in your side? Yeah that would've been great too if those moves had materialised for you
@@ReteroFMtalented forwards in his era (Del Pierro, Totti, Inzaghi) and he also seemed to have quite a few injuries at his peak. Baggio also only had 56 caps
I’m just curious. If I download a copy of FM2008 or FM2009 from the internet archive, despite the fact that I can’t pay for it or buy it anymore, is it still illegal or morally wrong?
That's a very good question and one i'm unable to answer lol. I believe you can pick up 2008 on ebay brand new though, i bought it around a year ago for 10 pounds. I run it on windows 10, not sure if it works on 11
Nightmare difficulty 😂 As a Derby fan I think I had my hands in my face all season. Turns out sacking your manager and selling off your better players mid-season wasn’t a recipe for success. Who’d have thought…
Lol that's funny, definitely not a challenge for the weak hearted, i tried to keep all your best players and didn't do much better! I hope you guys can get back into the Prem soon though! Looks like you've made a decent start to the championship this season
@@ReteroFM for the first two years he is great as a target man type. Have him attacking the front post at set pieces and he would get decent numbers of goals for any team. There was one save playing in France where he scored something like 25 for me playing to his strengths.

Thank you that's very kind, i'm glad you enjoyed the video! That's a good question, i think some of the early ones can be tricky to begin with, for me personally i find 2006 and 2008 still difficult to do well in. Have you played the older FMs in the past or looking to get into them?
@ReteroFM I'd love to get into them but I rely to heavily on the newer mechanics. Tried CM05 but couldn't get used to it. If you ever made a tutorial for the older FMs I'd be sure to watch it.
Yeah that's a fair point. That's interesting, i also had CM05 and really struggled with that one. I think that's kind of what drove me in to Football Manager back in the day as i found it a lot more approachable. That's a great shout, i'll look into doing some tutorial style videos.
I followed the instructions on here to get it running for Windows 10, just need a copy of the game: www.reddit.com/r/footballmanagergames/comments/ji5620/fm_2005200620072008_windows_10_fix/ Not sure if this will work for 11 though!
God, im a west brom fan and had the dubious honour of seeing this bunch of misfits beat us in the 06/07 playoff final Big fan of these videos mate, i love how much you lean into the niche weirdness of the topics
Lol that must've been pretty devastating, i think it's fair to say West Brom would probably have accumulated more than 11 points had they got promoted! How do you reckon WBA will get on this season? It looks like they've made a decent start so far. Thank you though, i really appreciate it and i'm glad you enjoyed the video.
I remember like it was yesterday. Buy these players…..Billy Jones, Gary Kenneth, Owen Garvan, Pep Guardiola on a free and Eddie Johnson. It will cost you less then £10 million and you will probs finish top 10.

I can't pinpoint why... But the 2d in this game seems better than nowadays, more realistic? Edit: Okay maybe not more realistic, you took points off of 2008 Manchester United lol
Lol yeah you're right about that, i have no idea how Derby up a point there. I think they outshot us about 20-3. That's a good point about the 2d graphics too, a few people have mentioned that, it just seems so much more fluid on these earlier games.

That's a good question, i think it was the formation i used. With the 3-5-1-1, we didn't really have a place for a natural winger. At the beginning of the season i did try him as a second striker at times, especially in games where we losing but, in all honesty he wasn't very effective. It was a bit of a costly error to sign him, as he was basically the highest paid player at the club

Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed the video! I'm with you on that definitely amongst the best FMs 2008!
Great video!
Cheers man! I appreciate it, hope you're having a great week!
Love these videos 👌 I genuinely think a bit of music in the background would take them to the next level 👊 Any chance you fancy doing a Watford video from FM18 when we got to the FA Cup final? Maybe see if you can have a better season with them?👀
Keep up the good work though, looking forward to seeing more content 🙏
Thank you, that's very kind of you, definitely keep an eye out for future videos coming soon! That's a great suggestion with the music, definitely something i'll look into on the video production! Also great suggestion for Watford, definitely add that to my list! How do you think Watford will get on this season? It looks like they've made a decent start
great idea! and big respect for not just cheesing it!
Cheers mate! Glad you enjoyed the video, hope you have a great of the week!
Don't play football manager, but this was a good watch! Will definitely be watching more
Thank you mate, glad you enjoyed the video! Hope you had a great weekend
Kieran McKenna is there at 0:59!
Great eye for detail! I didn't realise he played professionally before making this video
Would love to see more attempts at saving crap teams from history. Good video
Cheers man i appreciate it! Definitely going to try some similar challenges in the future
Very entertaining content you have going here man!
Thank you, i appreciate it! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Do you have a favourite FM game you like to play?

@@ReteroFM, yes man , good memories! You should try it out for a video.
I remember trying this years ago, I either went down the first season then came straight back up and stayed up for years or I survived and continued in Prem. I signed Matthias Almeyda on a free and got Mauro Zarate in and was brilliant
That sounds great fun. Mauro Zarate is a blast from the past lol. Which was your favourite of these older Football Manager games?
@@ReteroFM Champ Man 01/02 I probably played the most, also enjoyed FM 06, 08, 12 and 14
Good stuff! But that Raul screenshot does not add up. Might have been from 2004 given he is listed being 27?
Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed the video! Yeah i think that version of Raul was either from FM05 or 06
Good video of a classic FM game which is all I've been playing lately. In my 4th season as Fiorentina and enjoying it, built a really good squad. Won the Europa League in my second season and finished 4th last season.
My current main starting 11 is;
GK- Vlada Avramov
RB- Javi Venta
LB- Manuel Pasqual
CB- Andrea Coda
CB- Dario Dainelli
RM- Mario Santana
LM- Adrian Mutu
CM- Andrea Pirlo
CM- Marco Donadel
CM- Samir Nasri
CF- Giampaolo Pazzini
Also Iaquinta from Juventus only cost £2.8m he's a beast.
Lol definitely a tempting idea, especially when the losses started to mount up!
Subscribed instantly even though I can't tell if it's AI generated voice or not lol loved video either way
Thanks for subscribing! No AI in these videos, i record everything myself. Glad you enjoyed it though, hope you have a great weekend!
Great video as always sir, love you to win the premiership with WBA as a challenge
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it! That's a good idea, definitely something i will look into, may have to be on a different FM though as on 2008 i am absolutely terrible lol.
Really enjoyed this video! I forgot all about Babayaro!
Shout out to Reading finishing 4th 😂
You're right about that, they had an unbelievable season!
Pablo Piatti and Guilherme Milhomem Gusmão were my guys back in the day, Tasci is another throwback name too.
That sounds great, how did those guys perform for you? Which was your favourite FM to play?
Ive got this game somewhere is there a graphics pack available still? Gonna try this challenge myself love the old fm.
To be honest i'm not too sure about graphics packs, a year or so ago somehow mentioned in a comment there weren't any available for FM05-07. I presume that it's probably the same for this edition. Good luck on the challenge though! Don't make the same mistakes i did lol
Man I love this channel
Cheers mate i appreciate it. Your videos look great too, cool idea to break down the individual player roles!
Hmmm this makes me want to give it a go. Fm08 was my favourite. How did you record it?
These videos have so much potential
Cheers man i appreciate it. Definitely going to do some more challenge videos in the future
As a Derby fan thanks for bringing back the ptsd from that season lol
Lol i'm sorry about that, hopefully this season you can make amends and get back into the prem!
@@ReteroFM Nooo, we are not ready. I'll be happy with a boring old mid table finish
Yeah that's a good point, maybe try build up a little more don't want a repeat of 2008!
Ah the old Football managers... I still have my copy of Championship Manager 2003-2004. Maybe I should try it again sometime.
Definitely worth loading up, just make sure have nothing pressing to attend to for at least 10 hours after lol.
One good thing about this. As an Reading Fc fan seeing us finish 4th was great
Yeah you're right about that, they had a great season to say the least!
As an Estudiantes fan, pablo piatti was always a great player. Glad seeing him shine, despite not being able to save derby county 🙌
Yeah he did a great job! How is Estudiantes doing this season? Have they got any talents coming through who are looking promising?
Do you mind me asking how you got the game to run? Pretty sure I have the CD but it won't work. When I looked into it it said it wasn't supported
You should’ve tried to do it with the exact squad derby had, no signings
yeah that's a good shout, in the future i may try it again with their exact players. Probably going to be a horrific experience lol.
I'm not sure what the bigger shock is: Villa getting relegated or Reading qualifying for the Champions League!
Lol that's a great question! I couldn't believe Villa were in the relegation battle considering how good their squad was around this era
Good lord I feel like I just snorted a line of nostalgia.
Lol a very addictive brand of nostalgia!
I remember doing this same challenge when the game first came out! I also failed miserably.
That must've been a baptism of fire on a brand new game! I find a new edition of FM hard enough without going to the worst team in premier league history lol
Man Utd and Chelsea on identical points and GD at the top. There's a knife edge and then there's that.
That's a great observation, i didn't notice that was a lot more fixated on the bottom lol. Would the next tiebreaker after that be head-to-head?

Hiw do you get these old FM games to work on you computer? Whatever i try I can never get them to work
These were the instructions i followed to get the game running on Windows 10:
www.reddit.com/r/footballmanagergames/comments/ji5620/fm_2005200620072008_windows_10_fix/
not sure if it will work on 11 though as i haven't tried that before
Flip me, I don't think the 2D match engine can be topped
I agree 100% with you, especially on some of these older games the play looks so much more fluid
Hey i have a question i have been playing for a while fm 2005 version 5.0. 2 because it's the only one that works on windows 10 at least for me, can you tell me something about tactics, I do literally everything team instruction I set for rivals, I try 1 all the time, change player instruction or no change I try everything but I never get success and so far I play good teams like barcelona, real, arsenal etc people on youtube or forums don't set anything 0 player instruction, team instruction everything in the middle and they win everything what is the point here, I try to set everything, but I also tried like them not setting almost nothing always comes out wrong, I do not say that I want to win all the time because it is clear that it is impossible, at home I still win somehow but away it does not help anything neither creative freedom nor counter nor man marking I really tried everything : D menatlity rules of two, 5x5 seriously i try everything but nothing works in fm 2006 i was still able to play mentality rules of two it helped a lot and i set there literally every player individually creative freedom etc and it really works, in 2005 nothing works :D
Sorry for my english.

Yeah that would've been great too if those moves had materialised for you
Hi mate, can I recommend an FM14 Wolves save? Could rebuild all the way from League 1
That's a great idea, I'll make a note of that. Definitely looking to try and do a longer term save soon and Wolves would be perfect
Piatti was class for me back in the day
That sounds great, luckily he replicated the form he showed for you here. Which club did you sign him with?

I’m just curious. If I download a copy of FM2008 or FM2009 from the internet archive, despite the fact that I can’t pay for it or buy it anymore, is it still illegal or morally wrong?
That's a very good question and one i'm unable to answer lol. I believe you can pick up 2008 on ebay brand new though, i bought it around a year ago for 10 pounds. I run it on windows 10, not sure if it works on 11

And the new manager kept saying how rubbish the players were.
You should sign Mike Aaritalo at the start of the game. Also Martin Palermo as a target man striker

Should have signed Freddy Adu 😂
Lol that's a great shout, i definitely had a brief look at him, sadly the 3 million dollars our chairman gave us wasn't enough : (
Why didn't Chiesa play much?
That's a good question, i think it was the formation i used. With the 3-5-1-1, we didn't really have a place for a natural winger. At the beginning of the season i did try him as a second striker at times, especially in games where we losing but, in all honesty he wasn't very effective. It was a bit of a costly error to sign him, as he was basically the highest paid player at the club
Nice to have proof that Robbie Savage lost Derby 12 points that season! 😂
Lol that's funny ! Derby must have been crazy to spend so much of their money on just him
Rlly good
Cheers man, i appreciate it!
Uhhhhhhhhh I miss old fm so much
Yeah i agree with you there, I miss the simplicity of these older games. Playing a full season only took me around 8 hours.

Reading 4th??
Lol yeah i'm not sure how they managed that, i think they had a great start and then Steve Coppell left for a bigger team, somehow managed to stay in the top 4 though!
@@ReteroFM well I guess only one miracle can happen in a season and that wrote off Derby surviving 😂😂
Lol yeah you're right about that, i thought they'd be battling us for 19th position
can u play this game on windows 11 laptop pal
That's a good question, in all honestly i'm not entirely sure. I run it on Windows 10, the instructions which i followed to get it running were these:
www.reddit.com/r/footballmanagergames/comments/ji5620/fm_2005200620072008_windows_10_fix/
I'm not sure if those are compatible with windows 11 or not though
@@ReteroFM thanks mate but need download link for game aswell cant find one anywere just demo link
Reading in 4th lol
Lol i'm not sure how they managed that one, i thought we'd be battling them for 19th place!

Lol that's a great idea, definitely something i'll look at in the future.
