A bit to add regarding fast splits. A very short stage such as a qualifer would matter a lot. Only a 0.1 difference on splits x 6 targets is over a half a second. That is a lot on an 5-8 second stage.
I know it’s an edge case and I agree with you but I just wanted to add that. 🤓
