During the early 2000's especially pagsalubong sa Millennium Year. I was 14 years old. It was more insane during the new year midnight fireworks displays in the Metro since most households do the thing when the clock strikes at 12 MN. I remember pa wala pang New Years Eve noon at during Christmas Day pa lang marami ng nagbebenta ng paputok at nagpapaputok sa kalsada and before mag 12 MN akala mo 12 MN na sa sobrang daming nagpapaputok sa kalsada yung tipong punong puno na ng papel na paputok sa kalsada at napaka usok as in hanggang sa bahay namin mausok din and matatakot ka pang gunala or lumayo kasi may chance na maputukan ka at maliparan na ligaw na paputok haha, Dangerous kumbaga noon buwis buhay pero sobrang saya talaga noon, halos lahat ng tahanan Hindi pwedeng walang paputok. what more pa nung sinalubong na namin ang bagong taon. Mas masaya talga noong 2000's to 2010. Naglalabas ng Mobile or Sound System ang Tito ko sa kalsada, tugtuhan to the max hanggang sa pag salubong. May mga palaro, singing and dancing performances and then naglalabas kami ng long table sa compound at kanya kanyang handa I-hahain sa lamesa para sama sama kaming kakain magkaka mag-anak. Compared ngayon fire crackers are a bit more expensive and only some can afford them. At simula din noong pinagbabawal na nila Ang mga malakas at delikadong paputok. But it was a great experience. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

These fireworks are NOTHING compared to 20-30 years ago the Philippines celebrate Christmas and New Year like Crazy in any sense back then and that includes insane fireworks from almost all neighborhood. But still you know, it is what it is...

Apparently, Many foreign tourists book hotel suites in many places in Metro Manila for them to witness the amassed spectacular fireworks revelry that we Filipinos do each time New Year comes in. It is absolutely thrilling and flattering to learn that they exclaim that they enjoy what they see, at least from the rooftops and windows of their hotels. But THIS is exactly the HARDCORE ACTION THAT WE FILIPINOS DO IN THE STREETS!!! You had seen how we set off dozens evem thousands of firecrackers and fireworks to drive away evil spirits and bad vibes to make way for the New Year. HAPPY NEW YEAR 2024!!!🎉
That sounds like an amazing spectacle to view from you point of view. I have seen so many videos from top of buildings but never witness it myself. It's actually very good decision to make them light the fire crackers cuz most of our firecracker in ph is very strong but fast fuse it's dangerous they have to uh destroy the fuse or powder in the fuse a lil to make it delay
You are right they are pretty crazy and remember I was using a long stick to light stuff at other new years I celebrated there. @@innerchie oh man those are just littles compared to the tube type firecrackers like the "giant atomic", "bin laden" and the mother of all triangles the "goodbye philippines" those literally make shockwaves when you light it on residential areas very dangerous and illegal🤣 if this was really 2012 then im surprised that you havent come across vendors who sold those type of firecrackers. nonetheless it was nice seeing you enjoyed and took part on one of the filipinos favorite time of the year!!!
Hey Mikko thanks for the comment. Yes, I saw those videos way back in the day! Those things were huge and crazy.. We went to divisoria when it was way crazy back then. I remember walking in the middle of the crowded market, actually like tons of boxes trash and everything. The vendors were hiding them but once they saw me with the cash, they all came out with the huge cakes. I remember after buying we like 5 guys or so walking behind me carrying the fireworks over their head like something out of a movie haha. When we were kids the fireworks were super cheap that even on Christmas eve we light fireworks and firecrakers , we did the caroling when people refuse to give we will put five stars or bawang to explode their doorbells or explode their mail boxes for fun and on New Years eve the fun will last till near sunrise and Manila was covered with deep smog lol . with many casualties at the hospitals mostly children and drunks

This looks like around 2013's. We no longer have these kinds of firecrackers for around the past 6 years cuz they got banned (or at least strictly regulated) due to the rising casualties and leftover trash from the firecrackers. Right now we just cope using toy trumpets and blasting motorcycles in the street.
