Watched this when it started back in 2001. Such a a land mark show at the time. This series was better that the original British series in my opinion. I can't believe it ended almost 20 years ago. Started re watching the show and it has me enthralled now like it did years before. The cast and writing was so good and it was a time when there was 20 episodes to a season not 10 or 8.
That magnificent couple depicts love in its purest form freed from any limitations and obligations. They are together just because they wanna be together. They are precisely honest about what they want out of life. That’s why they almost never felt betrayed. Even when everyone was saying that Brian never does boyfriends, Justin responded “yeah, but also he is not offering that”. Brian used to believe in just sex and said that to every one night stand he encountered including sunshine. Then, he discovered that he could do more than that and formed a primary relationship with Justin. Throughout their partnership, Justin decided he wanted what Brian could never give and that they were going in two different ways so they had to let go of each other. I think that decision was just as much love-driven as it was before. You have to set free your partner if both are not benefiting from the relationship anymore. This is a life lesson for me and I’ll always be thankful for the show to ever teach me that.
Now I am only 17, the same age with Justin then. Several days before I met a video and I was fascinated by the loving couple, who I later knew they are B&J, and I soon fell in love with the whole series. I am so excited to find that after all the time, there are still some of my friends and my physics teacher who have watched it and love it, beacause I thought maybe just few people have seen it in China, and time passed so quick to let people forget there was a great TV play. Yahoo!
Aww, really good highlighting of Brian's emotional struggle, trying to come to terms his feelings for Justin vs. his identity. I think that Brian learning how to really love someone is the one big series-long plot arc of the show.

why are these two so beautiful together? I mean, I have never seen such a beautiful relationship in my life in real life or on screen. I know it's not real but it feel real. it feels like what love and sex should be. I think that's it. I think that is what is so fascinating and riveting about this couple. they are depicting something everyone wants but few have. even if it's not real the way it comes across, it's like everyone's dream. well maybe not everyone but I would feel my life complete if I were to have a relationship like this. love, beautiful sex, chemistry, excitement all of it. it makes me sad and happy to watch at the same time. also, I think Gale Harold is the most beautiful man to walk this earth. but ultimately, the whole thing, it makes me sad. it's great, but somehow, ultimately really sad.
What really bothers me with this whole story is that Justin was just a young man who was out for himself, he was a hindrance to brian, was the reason in an episode for him getting fired for putting up flyers which Brian told him he messing with his business, he knew brian never told his mother he was gay , but instead of him hiding he came out and greeted his mother which looking at Brian face he was embarrassed. That is not love it is selfish behavior. The only true love brian had was Michael. He never hesitated to tell Michael he loved him.

That was very personal for me because my Great Aunt's son was murdered by two men with a baseball bat in the 1990's.It happened in Nashville,TN.I don't know if these horrible men(I'm using that term VERY,VERY LOOSELY in this case!!!)knew him or the fact that he was gay.It might have been a case of armed robbery with them seeing a big opportunity for a whole lot of quick money(he was wearing a Rolex watch and gold chains,if my Granny's memory is to be believed at all)all in one fell swoop.I was too young to know all the details and I'm still fuzzy about the exact details.I can remember Granny saying he wasn't able to fight back because of Chemotherapy treatments he was taking to fight the full blown AIDS he had.At the time it was believed to be a possible cure for the disease.Ricky was so badly beaten the police couldn't identify him by any pictures.They finally identified him from the silver cigarette wrappers that only he wrapped in a certain way!!!!Both of the men went to prison and one of them overdosed in prison on drugs.The sound of that bat on the television was enough to make me CRINGE!!!Hopefully they are all three at peace,finally,and accepted Jesus as their Savior before they took their last breaths!!!!Ricky's mama(my Great Aunt Alleene)had a dream,Granny said before she died in February of 2012,she was with Ricky in Heaven and he was designing clothes!!!For both of their sake's,I hope it came true for them!!!Unfortunately,we haven't had any contact since Granny died for all I know she could've gone on to Glory,if she was saved before she died,by the time I'm writing this tonight!!! I hope anyone who reads this will think twice before they judge someone for who they love because it could happen to you,too. I try not to because,a wise person told me once,if you judge someone you yourself are in even more danger of going to Hell for thinking you can judge them,I know I'm saved by God through my faith in him and wouldn't want to think I can do that and play God!!!! I know I'm not his best girl but i try as hard as i can to keep my opinions to myself about other people's hearts and minds even if i disagree with them or don't like them!!!! I agree that in the short term it appears their separation breaks their bond. however we see it, I believe they will visit back and forth possibly Brian travelling to NYC more so he can support Justin's art career. if by any chance the show runners kept this possibility in mind it my be because a movie or a full on reboot of the series could address their relationship. just my thoughts,
