i am not english , i don't know the language perfectly , but i can still easly undestand what u mean every single minute of the vid , full of very important nformations. I am glad to youtube for this type of video. thx bro , u made my day.
While it's true that you can fill up 2l bottles and then chill them, a kegerator is obviously more convenient. 5 gallons of good home brew will save you about $250 compared to equivalent store bought beer - so that buys a decent used kegerator system. My goal for my first 5 gallons was to have it pay for itself by being frugal in parts and supplies...and it did. Every brew day since then has been free money, because I love doing it anyway as a hobby.
Keep them coming. I'm always thinking of ways to expand my kegging system. I created an account and will purchase when I figure out what I need to limit my shipping.
What an absolute gem this guy is. A big thanks to the UA-cam algorithm gods for recommending this channel. In a way you opened my eyes to the simplicity of homebrewing. I remember everything clicking when you compared duotights to Lego, as funny as it may sound. Keep up the good work!
Man this guy is a nut. But he’s preaching the truth and it’s nice to see he’s got more viewers than I thought! People actually care about this! I’m a homebrewer and use all these techniques a lot!
I stopped using my spunding valves to control the output along with the flow stopper because the beer was damaging the gauges and it was a pain to clean. Now I just use a standard duotight ball valve which is a lot easier to clean.
My thoughts as well. Use the auto stop when filling corny kegs from fermenter under pressure. But I'd never use spunding valve ahead of the auto stop because of potential damage to the gauges from beer through the Blowtie.
i remember back in the 80's i was in france, and i went to this little bar, and walked straight into andre the giant, we spoke for a good few hours just sitting and drinking, and he then went and bought an entire 50L keg of pelforth blonde for me, since he said he was pleasantly surprised to have met someone taller than him (im 7'7", hence big frank) i still have that keg in my attic, its all been drank since i got it, but i keep the keg as a reminder of that lovely fella
No he didnt. He said he did, but he really didn't. This dude drinks more sanitizer than the average homebrewer. and that means he drinks a shit load of sanitizer. YIKES. I just use hot water in a metal keg. @@1kreature
I would worry morte about him not emptying out the excess starsan from the 5l. Dump some in, slosh it around and let it foam up sure, but don't leave it in to mix with the beer...
Whats the point of the spunding valve? Ive been using an open picnick tap to vent to a sink whilst i transfer. Then i close the tap when liquid comes out.
Wow, that's a good idea! I'll make sure the guy responsible makes THAT happen. :) Cheers, and thanks for the suggestion (and for pointing out the error - seriously - thank you!)
Hi, this looks super cost effective however I must ask, how long does the beer last after the keg is opened? I assume different beers last for longer or shorter time. How long would a basic lager keg last and how long would the beer in the bottles?
Air and light are two of the most detrimental variables to a good beer. With the direct fill kit, beer is able to be sent from the source keg to the CanKeg without ever touching air or seeing the light of day. So, it should keep as long as the original keg provided you're pushing out the beer with more CO2. If you're just pouring it, of course you best be enjoying it at the same time.
Is there a way to just go fill up my big keg? I bought one thinking i can take it somewhere to get it filled and now i dont wanna trade it but i guess if thats the only way to do it then i will 😩 i just want my keg, i paid for it lol i just wanna pay to get it filled and take it back home not switch it out every time 😒 im a bit possessive obviously 😅
Love it! I am thinking of applying the exact same method, but currently I cannot cool the big keg. Is it possible to transfer the beer without foaming it when it is warm?
Just buy a standard fridge for about fifty quit with second hand unit! It's a perfect kegerator for the kegs to be cooling with! And drill the holes everywhere else than back wall!😜
I see you spray lots of sanitizer in the kegs and bottles, but you don't drain it out? Am I missing a camera edit or are you really drinking lots of sanitizer???!
He’s drinking sanitizer AND he has no concept of contact time. He thinks microbes are killed instantly. Then he dilutes the sanitizer before it has a chance to work.
I assume that you could install the auto shut off upstream of the blow tie to prevent beer from getting into it?

Still writing better than a lot on UA-cam

That's awesome!

would you like some beer with your sanitizer?
That's how no rinse sanitizer works ... No rinse, it has zero taste.
I learn something every time I watch one of these. Bought your soda stream adapter this week along with a new pop bottle tee. Thanks for the vids.
Jon,
Thanks for the positive comment! We'd love to see your set-up. Send us apic or two to info@cankeg,com .
This is brilliant. Especially the bottle in the fridge idea.

@eshea21228 diaphragm valve unlikely to be damaged... but pain to clean
I guess you need to clean the spunding valve when beer goes thru it. How simple is that?

I like the teaching but you forgot to rinse out the star San and to purge the oxygen of the small keg… 😅
Yes he did...
No he didnt. He said he did, but he really didn't. This dude drinks more sanitizer than the average homebrewer. and that means he drinks a shit load of sanitizer. YIKES. I just use hot water in a metal keg. @@1kreature
I wonder if you could add the auto shut off valve ahead of the spunding valve, saving have beer enter into the spunding valve itself before shutoff.
I am looking for the growler adapter, but can not find it on your page, thanks.
So are we drinking cleaner,i didnt see it drained out.
It's no rinse acid based sanitiser that's how that works, food and drink industry standard, else it wouldn't work if you had to dry it out
So you really just spray the sanitizer in and don't rinse it out at all and let it mix with the beer going in??
Starsan is nice like that, you don't rinse. But you do empty out the extra liquid. Leave the foam.
It's called no rinse sanitation, I don't trust it myself but alot of brewers do it
Its a fraction of a fraction at that point 1/640 x 1/(how many ounces your keg is) it has no impact on flavour or yeast/carb health
Are you not concerned about beer going through the supnding valve and guages?
Nice video. Just want to let you know the link on your youtube profile isn't formatted correctly, missing so it causes broken link on some browsers.
Thanks for the inspiration. Saved me 200 bucks on a counter pressure gun that I don't need.
And how do i refill the 50L keg tank... From other small tanks
Very cool!
I thought it was destructive to the spunding valve to allow beer ingress into the valve? No? You can also do it caveman by pulling the prv.
Any more videos?
Quality mullet
can someone tell me where to buy he "shutoff" piece here? or how to build it. thanks in advance.
@4:00 you don’t purge the jumper cable with co2 first ?? How do you stop the air in the jumper cable from mixing with the beer on transfer ?
I would worry morte about him not emptying out the excess starsan from the 5l.
Dump some in, slosh it around and let it foam up sure, but don't leave it in to mix with the beer...
He is all over the shop.

Very entertaining!
It might be a good idea to put an actual website link in your description to order.
Wow, that's a good idea! I'll make sure the guy responsible makes THAT happen. :)
Cheers, and thanks for the suggestion (and for pointing out the error - seriously - thank you!)
Any links for your adapters?
I would love to see what camping looks like😂

Apparently I'm on the YT algorithm for "Why haven't I thought of that, duh". Thanks for sharing.
:-) thanks for the comment! made me smile. Cheers!

I’d just take the full size keg camping…
I would put the camp up inside the keg! Or maybe even two camps in two kegs!
Love it! I am thinking of applying the exact same method, but currently I cannot cool the big keg. Is it possible to transfer the beer without foaming it when it is warm?
Yep, just need to do the same thing but at high pressure. Just use your CO2 chart.
Just buy a standard fridge for about fifty quit with second hand unit! It's a perfect kegerator for the kegs to be cooling with! And drill the holes everywhere else than back wall!😜
beetle juice of the beer world😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Can this liquid ball lock spout fit a Kegco Tower tap? Or If I get the Nukatap, can I replace my Kegco tap with it? 15:20
Watch one keg video and now UA-cam is spamming keg everything. I just stopped drinking!
And then you get beer through your spunding valve , not so good
I see you spray lots of sanitizer in the kegs and bottles, but you don't drain it out? Am I missing a camera edit or are you really drinking lots of sanitizer???!

This dude from Airdrie.. LOL whaaat
take the fifty camping
That mullet is hideous, did you use the zig zag crimping iron from the 80's on that mop, ridiculous bro!
Thanks for the cirrhosis.
Can I run a full keg with the kegland mini regulator?
