How neglected tunnel is forcing UoN students to risk lives on Uhuru Highway

University of Nairobi students are risking their lives going to and from class and library, after a crucial tunnel connecting the main campus and Chiromo was neglected.
The tunnel that runs under the busy Uhuru Highway was damaged during the construction of the Expressway, resulting in perennial flooding that makes it impassable. The tunnel is currently flooded, littered, and in a very bad state, such that the students are forced to dodge vehicles on the highway as they cross from one end of the university to the other.

Crossing uhuru highway at the University way roundabout is a death sentence.Its worse when it rains because the area is not paved so it floods leaving very few options.

This expressway and additional works are very poorly done. It looks incomplete for the cost. No foot bridges. Very little consideration for pedestrians, No lights. Open gaping holes. It's shoddyly done yet it cost a fortune! And the pedestrians are the bulk of tax payers!
