I know this is old post so you will most likely never see this. But back when this video debuted I 21 years old and felt the same goosebumps as you did back then
This song came out when I was a sophomore in high school. I felt this song was speaking to us. I would always sing along to it whenever I heard it. I was 16. Lots of changes that year.
The line “he crossed the line and there’s no turning back, he told the world how he felt with the sound of a gat” always gives me chills. I will forever love this band. I was in 7th grade when this album came out. I’m 35 today and still listen to it frequently. Sadly, this song holds more relevance today than it ever did then.
This is one of my favorite songs when I was a teen. Still gives me chills to this day. Should also react to their song Alive its so good. Great reaction Biss!!❤👏
The album that this was on dropped in 2001. I was only 17 turning 18 then, and this song was heavy on my rotation. I had seen a lot of teenage pregnancy, teenage suicide, school shootings were popping off, drugs, teens dying in drunk driving accidents. It really hit close to home. Sad thing is that 22 years later, I haven't seen it get much better for kids. I also highly suggest Southdown and Alive by this band.
I was 16 and friends was dropping like crazy. No one to talk to or they would avoid you if you brought up any of it. Wanted to end it all but pushed threw it by working as much as possible. Here i am around 38yo in the middle of my 80 acer farm and still no one to talk to, single, no kids. If it wasn't for music..
I was 20. I worked @ a Family Christian book store & bought every CD they had of p.o.d. I was fired for having the devil in me. Why did they sale it then? Also the store owner was an 18 year old gay man who got the store manager job from his father in Texas, who loved me when he hired me. Then seemed to realize I wasn't gay. For a whole year I got called from coworkers asking why I didn't show. I was like guys I got fired a year ago. And they said I was working when "black people" stole jewelry. I had not worked there in over 6 months. Weirdest work experience ever.
4 most of a year after I was let go, I was getting calls that I was supposed to be on shift. I let people steal. I hadn't worked there in over 6 months!
You're extremely intelligent and observant with your commentary. I always love to hear what you think of all these songs and how they bridge generations of fans, and still provide the same message. Great Job!!!
It's nice, one of the groups from my youth (I know I'm old...). excellent group still active, full of power and energy, they deserve other reactions. thank you bisscute❤. Kiss from France
This song never gets old and every time and despite the time it always gives me chills. great reaction Miss Bisscute and I loved your message at the end completely agree with you.❤❤❤ For future reactions I recommend the following songs with messages that never gets old: Genesis songs: No son of mine and land of confusion. Peter Gabriel, song: Don't give up. I'm sure you will like them😊
When I was a teen this came out, this was written for my generation but really every generation can benefit from this great song especially today like you said. I have a P O.D poster with alot of warrior names on in including mine. Warriors is what they call their fans.
This is a very powerful song. The part where the youth join in and sing gives me chills. Yet, the song remains unfinished. Problems were stated, but no solution given, no hope offered. "Will it ever make sense? Somebody's got to know. There's got to be more to life than this." As a Christian band, POD knows the answer to these questions, Jesus Christ. He is the way, the truth, and the life. He is our only hope. He alone gives life purpose and meaning. Sadly, POD did not offer Him to their listeners as the answer in this song. We need one more verse to make the song complete.
I actually saw this band a year ago, when they opened for Jinjer. I think I saw the keyboardist became a second drummer for this song. I’ve read that Tatiana is married to POD’s drummer, Alex Lopez.
P.O.D.which stands for “Payable On Death” is a Christian band on a secular label. This is one of their early hits, and it still hits hard. They are very distinctive. You ought to listen to some of their more recent songs.

As a kid with depression, the lyrics about the kid Johnny were always what grounded me when I heard this song. I found you through your Sound of Silence video, and saw this in your feed, and had to immediately click. This is the foundation of the man I am today, like top 5 most important songs of my life, so I'm glad you have done a video for it. Hope that wasn't a big trauma dump or anything, just had a moment where I burst into tears when looking for the lyrics I talked about first, and felt like sharing my connections with this song. I'm getting ready for a lot more tears when I start it.
Sorry you suffer from depression my friend. My brother suffered for years, decades actually & considered suicide over & over. At Witt’s end & no hope his wife discovered a podcast of a former Navy Seal encouraging people suffering from depression to try a treatment called HBOT. What is HBOT. It’s called Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. You get into this pod type contraption, sit down for a session of breathing in pure oxygen. Basically it gets into your blood cells & circulatory system & over time a person will respond positively to treatment & diminishing negative thoughts and such. I’m not an expert what so ever but please look into it. 👍🙏🤘🎶
This song was inspired by the shootings at a High School in California. The shooting was very close to where P.O.D. was working that day, and inspired this song. You can read some interview on the internet with the band when they explain all the process and inspiration on the album.
P.O.D. stands for "Payable On Death"... They r actually a Christian rock band formed in the 90's in California and incorporated rap, reggae and rock and rode the 'nu metal' wave in the late 90's... 'Youth of the nation' came in 2001 on the heels of the Columbine school shootings and was a huge hit from P.O.D.'s 4th album 'Satellite' which sold 3x platinum ... (Guitarist Jason Truby did 2 records between 2003 and 2006 when Marcos Curiel was out of the band) The band released 2 indie albums before signing to a major label and releasing 3rd album 'The fundamental elements of Southtown' in 1999 and got them on MTV w/ the singles - 'Rock the party'... 'Southtown'... The 4th album 'Satellite' was a major hit in 2001 w/ the MTV singles - 'Alive' ... 'Satellite' ... 'Youth of the nation' ... 'Boom'... 🔥🔥 Subsequent albums were less successful... P.O.D. had a song on the 'Matrix' movie soundtrack - 'Sleeping awake'... The 5th album 'Payable on death' had the single - 'Will you'. P.O.D released their 10th studio album in 2018 - 'Circles'... a new album 'Veritas' is due out in 2024.
I had direct encounter with JESUS in NJ in early 2001 right around the time POD was hugely popular. Great band. JESUS is 100% real. Nothing else matters except you belong to HIM and are SURRENDERED to HIM. Heaven and Hell are 100% real. I was attached by a demon while praying for revival in my current home a couple of years ago. I rebuked it and it fled...
Very nice guys, met them once, didn't realize they were part of my family lmfao. Someone asked me after they left "do you know who they are?" I responded "cousins?" They all laughed, they said "Thats P.O.D." Very humble people.
This song about a school shooting, POD is from san diego there was a school shooting in SD shortly before this song came out! It also has influences from columbine! Such a somber song!!
I first heard this song back in middle school back in 01 this song help me through a lot back than mostly being bullied and I still listen to this song not everyday but I still listen to it every now and than thank you so much for the reaction.
@Bisscute: Just so you know, P.O.D. is a Christian Nu-Metal band, with similar vibes (though without the screaming of) to Linkin Park. Standing for "Payable On Death," this band has a Christian background, similar to Avenged Sevenfold. However, this band had an inspirational take that for many kids my age, we needed. Too many times, we would hear of school shootings (Columbine in 1999, forward), and it seemed like drugs and gang activities made things hopeless for us. But songs like this gave us hope that one day, things would get better. Sadly, many of us are still waiting for that day. That being said, I recommend Satellite and Alive off this album. Additionally, I recommend the band Flyleaf, as they made a song dedicated to Columbine, and I also recommend Five Finger Death Punch's song Coming Down. Hope you like this one!
Hey Biss, I also recommend this masterpiece from P.O.D.: -Set It Off -Alive -Boom -Satellite -Portrait (suuuper nice song imo) and of course, by the way, I recommend a few other songs by my favorite rock band right now, namely - Foo Fighters - All My Life - Everlong - Rope - Learn To Fly - Wheels - Walk - The Sky Is A Neighborhood - These Days and my recent fresh discovery Dead Poet Society - Running In Circles / HURT Dead Poet Society - How could I love you?

Between 1960 to 1990 this country has had more pedophile serial killers active than the entire rest of the world had combined between 1900 to 2000. 2. Nearly 1 of 3 Gen X children were killed by abusive parents before they reached the age of 10. 3. From 1986-1993 there was an unnamed street gang war. Most of the gangers, probably around 90-95% were Gen Xers. It's the escalation to automatic weapons that led law enforcement to escalate their own weapons and why they are violent. 4. We have had 40% more suicides than any other generation in US history. Those numbers were higher in some years than even countries like Japan that suicide as Honorable. To the Millennials and Zoomers that came after us. Your lives can be so much better than ours were, if you only apply yourself and stay focused. And remember, it can always be worse, so make the best you can with what you have.
How I wish this song wasn't still relevant. I think this is a very compassionate song in the lyrics that surround the events in the song. For instance, first verse he talks about getting shot in the chest. "I don't really know this kid though I sit by him in class. Maybe this kid was reaching out for love or maybe for a moment he forgot who he was or maybe this kid just needed to be hugged." Powerful. Especially when we talking about kids who live without love in their life. Maybe if that kid was hugged he wouldn't want to shoot anybody. How many kids struggle with this kind of loneliness in their lives? Poor Suzy, never got the love and support and respect of her father. Now she's messing up in loveless relationships over and over again. Same story, different faces. Johnny boy always played the fool. He broke all the rules so you would think he's cool. He was never really one of the guys no matter how hard he tried, often thought of suicide. It's kind of hard when you ain't got no friends. He put his life to an end; they might remember him then. You cross the line and there's no turning back; told the world how he felt with the sound of a gat. Kids need more love.
I am a fan of P.O.D. and I am surprised that someone requested this. Lots of people hate them and make fun of them because this band is a Christian band. Please react to their video : School Of Hard Knocks.
Love this reaction!! P.O.D. is one of my favorite bands of all time. I recommend you a reaction to their songs "Going In Blind", "Execute The Sounds", "Sounds Like War", "Set It Off", "Freedom Fighters", "Wildfire", and "Roots In Stereo".
i always love your videos! POD has been one of my favorite bands since the early 90s. but please do yourself a favor and react to some more POD ! they are a breath of fresh air ! they have alot of great songs....Southtown...Boom....Alive....Satellite.....Going In Blind...Change The World....Goodbye For Now...those are some awesome songs/videos.
I remember when this song came put…these guys were gen x….were the same age basically…we ALL feel the same, we experience the same emotion, no matter what generation, we experience them in different ways and situations….it speaks to all generations…
They made this song because when they were in Seattle they where stopped in a traffic jam cause there was a school shooting down the street from where they were.
This really takes me back to.. well my youth.. This song, and P.O.D Alive was just played all the time everywhere. And then I have not heard them for 20 years or something. Also, if you do more P.O.D, I would suggest the song "Alive" its "energetic" and a bit more song, than "rap". Its also a bit more rock than rap. More electric guitar and heavy rifts.
They have some good songs and I'd say one of the better bands to come out of the nu metal genre. Sidenote: Carhenge, an artistic replica of Stonehenge, appears in the video, behind a group of youngsters from my hometown of Alliance, Nebraska. You can also find videos at this location during the 2017 total solar eclipse, when thousands of people from around the world gathered to view it.
The lead singer was entered to Hall of fame of Rock and Roll for text to this song. Some cities administrations cancelled their concerts because of too violent text .
Woah. I haven't heard these guys since, well this album came out. I forgot they existed. Apparently they're still active. If you like Rap/Hip Hop, check out Coast Contra. Their freestyles are especially good.
5:40 - That is what should bring us different generations closer as we are more the same yet just do not realise it until we are older and look backwards at our parents at our age in videos and have a 'WHOA' moment of clarity! The gap is minimal and superficial in generations over time. You will be 30, then 40, then 50 - when you are there - look backwards and then at the current generation in 2063 GenC and you will see them as different or you will heed your past and your parents past and noticed the 'tells' that there is so much that is the same it is uncanny!!! I kid you not!
I love this sound and this group that I have been following since their beginning . The satellite album is very good . I advise you to listen to Alive and their latest sound, Drop . 🤘🏻🤘🏻
I think POD have only one album that's actually GOOD (Satellite), but they have great songs, like this, or Southtown, Alive, Boom, Set it off, Sleeping awake, Goodbye for now,... And recently they drop (ha) a new song with the singer of Lamb of God and it's great: Drop.
P.O.D uma das melhores bandas da nossa geração essa musica está entre as top 10 da minha play list. Essa musica é melancolica por isso toca no fundo do coração. Gosto muito um estilo único rap com un toque de rock. ❤❤❤. Demais
Such a good song. I would love it if you did more rap heavy nu metal music. For example: Limp Bizkit has a lot of great stuff, with a very varying sound on each album.
They are from San Diego, this song was about school shootings. The one in Colorado then in March of 01' the shooting at Santana High School. That when they did the song

P.O.D. was a big band early this century. "Boom", "Alive" and "Sleeping Awake" are good songs as well.
Sleeping Awake is their best track imo.

To the Millennials and Zoomers that came after us. Your lives can be so much better than ours were, if you only apply yourself and stay focused.
And remember, it can always be worse, so make the best you can with what you have.
Surprisingly they are considered as a Christian group! I remember when this song came out when I was in 8th grade and they still are doing concerts
Glad you did this song. It made my updated list of fave tracks last year. The lyrics address very important topics. And rock + rap = fire.
thanks sweety one of the songs I wanted you to check out appreciate it!!!
Estaba esperando pacientemente y llegó el turno de POD WOW de los mejores en estilos. Para mi el favorito. 🔥😊 Gracias por tu reaccionar 💖
How I wish this song wasn't still relevant. I think this is a very compassionate song in the lyrics that surround the events in the song.
For instance, first verse he talks about getting shot in the chest. "I don't really know this kid though I sit by him in class. Maybe this kid was reaching out for love or maybe for a moment he forgot who he was or maybe this kid just needed to be hugged."
Powerful.
Wow! I was 26 lol classic jam! I saw them iin Virginia Beach 2013. It was before Sonny cut off his dreads! 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽
This song was famous when I was 18 years old, now I am 38 years old.. Almost 20 years already...
I am a fan of P.O.D. and I am surprised that someone requested this. Lots of people hate them and make fun of them because this band is a Christian band. Please react to their video : School Of Hard Knocks.
I’ve seen POD multiple times, they are a “Christian” band, & have stated so live multiple times!
I am going on 64,and I love it This is Very Powerful
love thank for watching
P.O.D - Alive is another great song!!!
Happy you loved this ❤️
POD has a new track with Lamb of God's lead singer, Randy Blythe (bly, the 'the' is silent.). Great song. Drop, I think is what its called.
Shocked and amazed that as much as you like Queen you've never reacted to Barcelona by Freddy Mercury and Montserrat Caballé singing Barcelona.
i always love your videos!
I remember when this song came put…these guys were gen x….were the same age basically…we ALL feel the same, we experience the same emotion, no matter what generation, we experience them in different ways and situations….it speaks to all generations…
one of the best church backed bands
Great live music great music with a mining
They made this song because when they were in Seattle they where stopped in a traffic jam cause there was a school shooting down the street from where they were.
thanks sweety love them!!!!
Great reaction Bisscute!
thanks love them!!!!
Another great song of POD, is ridiculous, it's with 1 of the best reggae artist in the world (Eek a mouse)
this song received recognition from the ONU
This really takes me back to.. well my youth..
This song, and P.O.D Alive was just played all the time everywhere. And then I have not heard them for 20 years or something.
Also, if you do more P.O.D, I would suggest the song "Alive" its "energetic" and a bit more song, than "rap". Its also a bit more rock than rap. More electric guitar and heavy rifts.
When this song came out, i never knew anyone who took their own life. Now i knew two... 🥺💔
Song hits different.
i miss the old times :(
The Fundamental Elements of Southtown and Satellite are my favorite albums from them.
If I'm not mistaken, this song was written after a school shooting, and then the Colombine shooting happened not long after.
Woah. I haven't heard these guys since, well this album came out. I forgot they existed. Apparently they're still active.
If you like Rap/Hip Hop, check out Coast Contra. Their freestyles are especially good.
This one hits home, I was 20 when it was released. I had it on my "suicide playlist". Thank you for your words ❤🤙
Finally someone who reviewed p.o.d!
Клип хорош. Ведущая прелесть! И всё у неё получится!❤
I love this sound and this group that I have been following since their beginning . The satellite album is very good . I advise you to listen to Alive and their latest sound, Drop . 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Next video reaction stone temple pilots, unplugged plush or interstate love song.
This song takes me back
i agree with you
btw POD is a Christian Rock / Rap Band and also how Katie Perry got her start
This song was dedicated to the massacre Santana High School shooting.....Columbine High School
Crazy this album was released on 9-11
Along with P.O.D., another great band to check out is Skillet (not rap, but rock). They are also brilliant.
Great reaction!! 🔥
Great song, great reaction! In the future, if you can, react to their "Southtown" too
Your accent is enchanting. Okay, goodbye forever.
If you like older stuff too do 38 Special. Big fan of them. I think you will like them.
a great christian band seen them live they were awesome
Hopefully someday soon ❤️
Check out P.O.D. BOOM, and Alive. Some more great hits by them. My first concert i went to.
They are from San Diego, this song was about school shootings. The one in Colorado then in March of 01' the shooting at Santana High School. That when they did the song
Oh? ❤️
Another great band if you're unfamiliar with them is Stained. They have many great hits👍!!!
Powerman 5000: When Worlds Collide ...get ready for some "pump you up" music. you'll be ready to fight the world afterwards
"This Mountain (Fouzia Cover) - Novia Bachmid" for next cutie.. 😊👍🏼
Regards from Indonesia 🇮🇩
