When I was a kid being taken to Chuck E Cheese's for my birthday, you could expect me to be at the Turtles in Time Machine at any time other than pizza time. Might not be the cleanest beat 'em up ever, but damned if it isn't one of the most nostalgic and iconic quarter munchers.
Welcome back. I always loved the arcade version of Turtles of Time over the SNES (which I also love), but yeah, it was designed to make you use as many quarters as possible. BTW, your time mark of Neon Night Riders is not written properly. I still prefer this version of Neon Night Riders over the SNES version (better music, better fights)
I've been following this dude who's been doing 1CC's of this game for years. He recently started a playlist tutorial for moves and boss strategies. Here's the playlist. ua-cam.com/video/KvmvXP2HoyU/v-deo.html
I 1CC the US version months ago(using Donatello) on the TMNT collection and that was so brutal. Asian and European versions are more manageable with the European version being the easiest overall. But congrats on the run as it's not very easy even with the changes to make the Asian and European versions doable for many people.
Wow, impressive skills, mate. Such a brutal game and, as you say, a bit shit really! But the nostalgia definitely gets you in the feels. I tend to gravitate toward Shredder's Revenge over this when needing my TMNT fix nowadays.
Another notable difference in the US version is that the enemies that launch fire arrows damage the player in the air, something that does not happen in Europe and Asia. I don't like the trick of dodging the bomb every 5 minutes, you have to be able to go fast and finish the phase sooner...
I don't like dodging the 5 minute time bomb though I got used to it by listening to the music and there are other ways to avoid it. If you get hit by an enemy or hazard with enough s you can avoid getting hit by the time bomb(though it's much riskier). But the easiest way to avoid the 5 minute time bomb is to pick up a bomb power up. You are invincible when you pick it up and the time bomb can't hurt you at all during it so if you want the best and safest way to avoid it then pick up the bomb power up and you will never get hit by the time bomb while using it.
Those old Konami beat 'em up were definitely designed to get as many Quarters as possible. Awesome job getting the 1CC.

Back when arcade games like this were so much fun.
The kusoge version of Turtles in Time and one of the most kusoge beat'em ups of all time
oh? is the snes version actually the good one? I play this some time ago, totally agreed with your statement
