Danno, look into the FDA program being launched on October 1st called “Human Foods Program” or HFP. It’s supposedly a program to ensure consumer food safety but since I don’t trust the FDA, I will be skeptical for awhile. Anyone that doesn’t agree with me can google what the FDA has approved to be safe for human use/consumption and hopefully make a more informed decision for their family’s health.
Alot of people buy those big bags of Arm and Hammer for swimming pools. It is cheaper than buying baking soda from a pool store.
First of the month, weekend traffic, and end of May instant savings contribute greatly to the empty shelves too!
Dan you mentioned about the baking soda lasting a long time. I use it for my laundry as it removes the sweat smell living in Florida it is hot and you sweat.

Hey Danno!! I'm sitting here laughing because I got two of those baking sodas!!! I use it for cleaning and cats box freshener.

Lately I've had trouble finding Mt Olivet sweet pickles with no added sugar.
Last time I was Sam’s that sweeper that you had to move your cart for it was stopped, parked right in the middle of the main aisle literally going from the front to the back. There was no way to get by it on either side with a cart. I tried And those little things stick out in the back. There was no way would make it past those sections. Finally got somebody to show up to move the thing so I can get by with Art. I mean we’re talking the main big aisle and they have a little bit in between over by the frozen food stack. They have a little bit like bread and some whatever. Anyhow, it was parked right in the middle you could get it wasn’t to the right smack in the middle and it wasn’t moving and you couldn’t get
Similar thing here. They had a pallet dropped in the middle of the aisle and the robot was stuck behind it, didn't know where to go. just think they cannot get these in store ai to work smoothly but now they want to throw us in ai self driving cars with more variables.
They want you to walk more to sell more. Remember, most stores have dairy aaalllllllll the way at the back of the store!
I really wish Sam's would remove their giant roomba. it's a nuisance.
They did not have the Maker's Mark cat little the last time. We really like liked it and it was a good price.
We were buying those member mark green buckets clumping litter at sams too but we have switched over to the yellow bags of tidy cats non clumping. We like those better and what gets me is those green buckets are 42 pounds each but when we dump the tidy cats bags into the green buckets, 1 bag fills 2 green buckets and there is still a little left over and the yellow bags are only 52 pounds each. I see the yellow bags are like $13.9? somethng right now but we stocked up when they were only $10 each. we have 1 full bag left and 1full green bucket with the tidy cat in.
Always grew up thinking clumping litter was better but we just happen to try the non clumping once when it was on sale for $10 when the green bucket wasn't available and we like it better. we go thru less. liked it so much we went back and stocked up when it was on sale.

Sam's is worth it just for meat, bread, and berries/ fruit for me. Plus there seems to always be a membership discount when I renew near the end of the year.
I make a lot of jam/ jellies so that much lemon juice does come in handy 😆
If you still have Member's Mark spaghetti available in your store at that price and like it, buy it now. The Sam's club we go to in NE Ohio does not have it and has not had it for at least a year. It is replaced by Barilla at a higher cost. I have a plus membership so shipping is at no cost but it is not available to be shipped for quire a while.
The IAMS Large Breed dog 50# just went off sale. It was 52.99. Bought 6 bags for my 2 Irish Wolfhounds Put all the contents into 6 plastic tubs with lids. NO MORE MICE!!!😊

I use at least a whole bottle of lemon juice when I can tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, pizza sauce and salsa. Also in home canned pie fillings. There is a need for it out here for canners. Also lemonade that I'm not very good at making.
Hi Danno have you noticed Walmart created their own store brand under the Great Value mantra Gatorade that's new as Gatorade and Powerade always had an oligopoly stores brand sports drinks just never existed until now

Oh they definitely have cameras on them. I’d even go so far to guess they have someone monitoring them from another location 24/7 in real time. I used to be an outside vendor and go into stores, and one of the stores I’d go in had one of those creepy robots with ‘eyes’ which is supposedly there to ‘clean’. Well, let me tell ya… this thing would stop in its tracks when it would see me and just WATCH what I was doing for a few minutes. It was tall and long, there was no way it was ‘cleaning’. Hated that stupid thing!!!

Yes. I bought 4. You can not use real lemons for canning. You must use bottled lemon juice

Hi Danno and Jessica! I hope the weather has been good for you there as I know there’s been quite a few storms. Just very hot here in PA and I keep working 2 jobs! I was in my Allentown Sam’s a week ago, no decaf coffee in any form, not even pods, not much by the bakery in the way of cakes or fresh rolls/bread. I did find salad and grapes were very expensive. It’s becoming a sad experience to go to the store and I keep buying less and less. You and Jess have a WONDERFUL week! Hugs to you both!
"Baby food recalled over Listeria concerns" Food Safety News. Once Upon a Farm PBC of Berkeley, CA, is recalling Once Upon a Farm Organic Plant-Rich Meal, Curried Carrots & Beans because of potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination.
Lots of products today, I use that chicken stock in a lot of things, soups, stews, rice cooker water, I also buy that large baking soda, I feel it is an under used product that saves money, you can do so many things with it from toothpaste to deodorant to drain cleans, rash/itch, rings around your tub ( add ½-cup baking soda to 1-teaspoon coarse salt, and 1-tablespoon of pure lemon juice. Mix to form a paste and scrub your tub) spray deodorizer w/essential oil, foot/bath soak, antacid, etc it is definitely a "prep" item. I need to go buy some canned chicken while on sale. You shopped on the 3rd of the month Danno, Social security checks arrived. 😊

Long time listener here. Do you have any additional info on the cucumber recall that is impacting 14 states?
Yes. Cucumbers were on sale at a local store, and I would have loved to make cucumber salad. Since I didn't want to take the chance it was recalled, I didn't buy.
So I pulled out a package of Hillshire Smoked sausage to fry up with rice and peppers and onions...I can make a nice big pot of food for little money. But they got me. I looked at the package thinking, it doesnt look as big as it used to. Sure enough, the 16 oz package is now 14 oz. Yup, they got me.
The kielbasa and smoked are 12 ounces, and the andouilli is 13 ounces. Yet they all cost the same.
I’m noticing huge gaps at my Sams Club as well. I have no idea if it’s an employee thing, but I’ve been there 3 times in the past month and it looked pretty much the same. Different gaps, you can tell they just switched stuff around but there are still gaps

There are certain items that are not avail in my Sams location that I can only get by delivery - Equal packets 1000ct.

Rob: In case you did not know a lot of the stuff you see is commercial restaurant sizes cause I've known places that I've worked at when they ran out of something they would go to Sam's Club to pick up stuff especially like the canola oil that's exactly the same size bottles when I worked in food service those were the size that we used.

I've got a question for everybody: At what time do you pick up rotisserie chicken? Mine has not had any available for the last 2 months. I would usually pick one up between 10am-12. I haven't been able to for months. Their bakery has no workers in it & the shelves are bare.
The ALDI in Dayton OH was wiped out today. Big holes throughout the store. Not sure if it’s an employee thing or a problem getting the food in💁🏻♀️
It's canning season, so people are using lemon juice for jams and jellies. Also, on the Ball website there is a recipe for Strawberry Lemonade Concentrate that can be canned or frozen. It uses a bit of lemon juice. It's delicious!
Does Members Mark still make Angel Hair pasta? I haven't seen it In a couple of years at my Sam's. I can't order it online either. 🤷♀️

I just noticed I never got a new sams club flyer for this month. my old one that expired on June 2 is still sitting on my desk instead.
I live not far from a Friskies plant and I drove past it last week. They are putting on a very big addition. I know they made an announcement last week that the helicopters will be back moving equipment in and out and no need to report suspicious helicopter activities.
We haven't gotten a new one either.

Why one would use oil and sugar at the amounts. I don’t buy sugar for at least 30 plus years . No need nutritional value
Large families, schools, churches, business.
White sugar is also used for people filling hummingbird feeders.
It last forever, so why not buy it at the lowest price.
A lot of businesses use large amounts too. Such as restaurants. Also jam and jelly home canners.
I buy sugar in bulk. If we want a baked good or cookie, we make it.
Believe it or not. If you stop buying all treats out, or at the grocery store. You will probably go through a 50lb bag per year.
