Learned a few tricks! I’ve been wanting an illusion guide for quite some time, very useful 👌🏻
Video is super useful, but I was still confused about a couple of things and the comments were a big help, this is my summary of what was useful. Biggest clarification that I got from multiple comments :- control groups are remembered, not only across multiple spawns of the illusions, but across games / quitting the game. Also, the same unit can be put into multiple control groups For Naga, to reduce my mental load I've assigned 1 illusion to 1, 2 to 2 and 3 select all other units (which is 3 to start with normally) and 4 to select my hero + my unit from 1. So I can split farm easier such that I can send 2 to 1 camp, send hero + 1 to another type of thing (may be a better way to do this, but this is getting me started!). I assigned space to select my hero (double tap space to select and center camera on hero). The other super useful tip is that ctrl right click movements issues movement orders to all units so if you want to get them all doing something "this is the way".

Altought all those heroes are based on ilusion creation, they're so diffent one from another. That's what I enjoy the most on the game!

I had no idea you could bind a key to toggle autoattack on the illusions! Game changer!!!
For PL juking, the 100% dmg taken illusion is also always considered the first illusion summoned, so you can press tab to select it instead of a control group.
I like to spam the control group for thst illusion when i press doppel, you can't do that with tab

You can also bind a key to focus on selected unit, to move the camera to a selected unit using a console command, nice for tab switching.

These heroes are a lot easier than you'd think. It's only "hard" because you end up having to put more thought into farming than you normally would but once you get it down it is super satisfying.
@@Scroolewse even farming isn't that much different from any other hero that buys manta, which is a lot of them
It’s not that hard. It’s a lot easier than say Meepo or Chen.
For me the draw to these heroes is the added level of skill/difficulty

Of course, it works with all summons, whatever they are. It's especially useful on druid, shadow demon, visage and beastmaster where you can make your summons cover your flee by attacking your chaser

Is there any reason you would do anything different for summon heroes like Brood or HelmDom Lycan? I have them essentially setup the same way with select all, other, and tab to last. Although the tab to last bite you if you are not keeping track.
For lycan/beast I set my wolves/boars to a hotkey and the neutral to another. Brood could be a 15 min video for hotkey management. There is a Brood spammer that has relatively low views that made a really good Brood guide not too long ago. Can't remember the name and too lazy to look it up.

What about cloning? I remember a while ago when Radiance Naga was meta I watched some guide that had to do with clicking on portraits, I used that one to gain a stupid amount of MMR
its about the same thing, u just go select all units, then move to one place, then ctrl click one illusion, then proceed to move other place, and so on and so on, so they could move in different places. but if you want a better control, u can do bsj trick

Yeah been using this for years very helpful. I think some illusion A click tricks on the minimap is also useful advice to quickly disperse naga illusions to camps or lane.
Idk why my control groups always resets but it used to be saved anyone know if its some steam cloud setting or smth

i have 2 questions: how can i send an illusion to clear a camp and make that illusion to move into another camp after clear it, i see lot of pro do that, like they send an illu to a camp and queue to the next camp once they done. And i also see player to get the view of the selected unit every time they select it, like the currier or tb illus, they "v" and the camera move into it instants. (i know double tap the v will do it, but looks like always does in those players) thanks
i think you can shift+click orders to queue them

@@Nyreios Yeah. This is probably why BSJ didn't include CK. His illusions are only used for demolishing in clash.
Too many hotkeys for my 3 buttons office mouse. But i'm playing at low mmr, so isn't like i really need this many functions 😅😅
Question: Do I have to assign the control groups on new illustions or the game will remember that "manta" illusionts are on X hotkey, and first 2 naga illusions are on Y hotkey, and the second two naga illusions are on Z hotkey?
Are you asking if you have to reassign them every game? The game will remember the hotkey you "store" them to. You don't have to do it every other game. You can do it in your current game or, like the video, in demo mode.
@@Scroooper Let's say I summon 3 naga illusions and ctrl+hotkey assign 2 illusions to X and 1 illusion to Y. Then these illusions expire and I summon another 3 illusions. Now when I press X, will 2 of the new illusions be selected or I need to assign them with ctrl+X again?

As for my experience since I frequently use illusion or summoned units, once a certain unit is spawned, illusion or summoned like brood mother or pl. Just press the same group that you just pressed before that unit was spawned, it will be added.

Trick for PL juking: Just get inside demo, use dopple, choose the 100% dmg taken illu, press ctr+2 (the number can be whatever).
And when you dopple, and click 2, it will always choose the 100% illu (even in real games outside demo). You only have to do this in demo 1 time, and spam it forever.

I'd rather hear how to find the real one in illusion heroes. Back in dota one it was easier to read Regen. Illus don't have Regen so you can see the hp bar difference so quick but that's not the thing on Dota 2 so yeah gg.
