Rockets played well again thanks to Udoka’s coaching. Udoka led the Celtics to NBA Finals in his first year as a head coach. He put pride for defense for his players.

In a 3 point era they dont care if they shoot bad in 3s, their heart and hustle makes up for it. And for casuals, young Rockets is struggling in offense right now cause they're focus is 100 percent on developing being great players defensively. Offense will come later once they become complete 2way players.
People say James Harden led to this great rebuild (and yea it obviously had a lot to do with it) but Morey leaving that got Rafael Stone the job can't be ignored. Especially the Segun and Tari picks Stone legit at what he does

51-31 for 3-4th seed in west, top 10 starting lineup and top 2 bench unit will win you a bunch of regular season games. Not good enough yet to make it past the 2nd round unless the matchup is favorable, but this team is on the rise and ready to make some noise over the next 4-5 years. Amen Thompson will be a top 5 player if he develops a decent jumpshot.

I dont feel the Rockets can sustain this level of play, since it's still very early in the season...this will really tax them during the mid-late season. The common theme in the Rockets is seeing Jalen blow up after the All-star game, and most of what theyre doing hasnt really changed beyond the intensity. Because of this, I think the Rockets at best become the 4-5th seed, worse they regress to the point where theyre in another scenario similar to last year with them hunting for a play-in spot. I wholeheartedly believe this unit will be an 8th-6th seed but that's it. They have great talent, but when teams like the Mavericks start to play defense in the late season, those fast-break and second-chance points they get away with will disappear. Keep your hopes timid until then, as long as Jabari keeps becoming a reliable shot, and Jalen can play off-ball...then this projection may change...but until then we've got to just wait and see.
To his credit, he's mostly kept the extra nonsense tamped down this year. I think he's feeling the upwards trend and doesn't want to wreck it any more than anyone else.
