“Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent. Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent. Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil? Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?” - Epicurus (341 - 270 BCE)
God is not only omniscience but also omnipotent and omnipresence. That would make the eternal God beyond the confinement and constraint of time. He created the illusion of time for us and everything to work in this causal universe. God is the source of love and all good. But knowing good must make God knows what evil is. Just He will not choose to be evil because there is no point to be an evil God when He is GOD. There is no way our loving God will create a foreknown fallen angel and us to be punished eternally. When the knowledge of good and evil are given to his creations, the angels and us to choose, such choices are foreknown to God and therefore creations and their fates are predetermined by Him. What we go through in this world are a massively intricate cosplay. In our perspective an open-ended role playing game where we have no script except some guidebook aka holy scriptures to make an immersive role playing game more "fun" with promises of salvation and threatening punishments on the choices we make. Eventually when our time ended in this world themepark, we may all just laugh with such an immersive life experience we had.
@dragilxcom4176 that doesn't reflect reality. God given everyone free choice means we are also self determining of our fate and future. We in real time choose who we become, follow and what our future will be. God is no responsible for your actions and how you choose to use your free will. That is why there is a future day of Judgment where all will be held accountable and receive according to what they have done. Christ is real and so is His teaching
IF god exists and is omniscient, I personally prefer the idea that he can choose whether to 'know' something or not. I've heard it described as a parent who knows the child will *probably* get into the cookie jar, but allows him to be in the kitchen alone anyway, hoping the child will resist his urge. It seems like it describes the kinder version of a god, because then you don't get into paradoxes about free will, or into contradictions of describing god as the 'epitome of love' where if he knows what is going to happen, he becomes responsible for it, which is unloving. At the same time, I have to wonder where the belief even came from. I've read the bible multiple times, and in the interactions it contains between god and humans, there are plenty of times something happens that god apparently didn't know about. Prayer seems completely silly if god knows everything, because he would already know what you're going to ask for and exactly how desperately you want it. Combine that with the fact that god is never actually described in the bible as all-knowing, and it makes me wonder why it's a question at all. If you believe in god and insist on the omniscient angle, you're insisting that the belief that some religious philosopher came up with a thousand years ago to describe god's knowledge is correct, even though the concept is a human invention. So I can't help but wonder why religious people seem to take it as a given, especially when it raises so many questions.
Yeah, omniscience isn't a biblical idea at all. But it became part of Christian teaching through Augustine. For the first 500 years of Christianity omniscience wasn't a thing. It was, but only the traditional definition of omniscience. Which was that God knows what you're doing because He can see you no matter where you are.
God is not only omniscience but also omnipotent and omnipresence. That would make the eternal God beyond the confinement and constraint of time. He created the illusion of time for us and everything to work in this causal universe. God is the source of love and all good. But knowing good must make God knows what evil is. Eventually when our time ended in this world themepark, we may all just laugh with such an immersive life experience we had.
The God already does know what you're going to ask. He knows you're thoughts. But prayers still important. Because when you talk to your child, you would rattle that child to ask and talk with you about it. Rather than to them to just come up to you. And then John off doing whatever it is they want to do.
Moses was a mediator between God and man and he prophesied that there should come a prophet as a mediator between God and man like he had been, this is Jesus, he is the mediator of the new covenant. But in the catholic Church they started to think that Christ was so strict that the people needed the pope as mediator between him and them. Like this they needed the priests and the catholic saints too even though those “saints” were dead, so this became more like praying to the dead, despite this was not allowed according to the old covenant. We can compare this by when the serpent asked the women if God really didn’t let them eat from any of the trees in the garden. She gave a correct answer to that, but this is like giving a wrong answer to it, so it is more like after the fall of sin, when they were locked out of the garden. This does not suit to the childhood at our Fathers house we get by faith in Jesus, where we as God’s children could come to him with all our needs and wishes. What’s really the point in this? Likely to replace us and our needs and wishes by them and their needs and wishes. So it is like the foolish shepherd who pastured the flock of sheep to be slaughtered and those who sold them became rich and praised the Lord for it (Zachariah 11). Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) considered Christianity as a slave-moral, but after God’s death morals can be considered as a human invention and a result of experience and history. In this situation humans are destined to create themselves. It surely refers to that Jesus died on the cross. But then he left his children with a testament that shows their heritage. The true and living God rose him from the dead and set him with his right hand side in heaven. And he sent them the Holy Spirit and it is like a seal that shows that they belong to him and it is as a deposit of their heritage. If somebody tries to replace this testament or change it, and thereby squeeze out any of God’s children and replace them, so they shall not get these rights according to the testament, it must be regarded as corruption, injustice and criminality. How then? When a child comes to his Father and asks him for something, how can anyone come and push it away and say they want this instead of him or her? Pretending as if they shall speak on behalf of him and/or her, but then to change it to something else. In this way they sell them like slaves and somebody earns money this way and becomes rich and even praise the Lord for it. Nowadays it appears to be quite a lot of this in the churches and in the policy, in the democracies, so it seems like the foolish shepherd starts to talk like an idiot on behalf of you, to mock you as if you are just “stupid child”, what an idiot, just because he does not accept you to be able to talk for yourself. But this is not how churches and democracies should function.
can't see God as omniscient and at the same time put any...any limits on him/her...we are, once again, trying to define God by out time/space measurement tools...if God has limits...then God is not God..a superior existence, perhaps, but not THE Existence..I am, that I am...no exceptions....by the way, I am so grateful for your work and these magnificent videos....means a great deal to me in my own daily search.
I believe that god is omniscient and omnipotent, but not omnificent, he does not do all that is done. God is spirit. God is a person. God wants YOU to do your part in this reality. He will lead you (in spirit) into ALL TRUTH. You just need the faintest flicker of faith, then the quest of the ages will be yours to be a part of. God is not just your destiny, He will be your final destination, that is, if you can find him😇 CTT
It doesn't matter for two reasons. (1) God may not be a single person the way humans normally think of personhood. (2) The universe has laws of cause and effect. Nothing happens in complete isolation. Eventually there is a reaction to every little thing that happens. Therefore you can postulate a "personal " god who knows everything and then takes appropriate action. Or you can simply let everything take care of itself. The result will be the same either way. Deism, theism, or atheism . . . the universe is the same no matter our choice of beliefs.
I don't believe in God as such but I believe in a "conscious" universe so to speak. I like to think of the universe as a vast brain and we are cells existing within it. I firmly believe in other dimensions, probably multi-universes, life on other planets, and the possibility of survival of consciousness after death. All that is way more exciting than the notion of Jesus.
Divine omniscience must comprise subjective knowledge, encompassing first-person perspectives of all possible experiences-whether human or otherwise, pleasurable or painful. This view contrasts with the understanding of divine omniscience in classical theism. Divine omniscience not only knows everything that is possible but also understands every possibility as actual. It is aware of all propositional and non-propositional truths, representing the eternal experience of all possible experiences. If this thought does not evoke both awe and dread in you, then you are not truly comprehending it.
That would, in part, require fleshing out one’s natural theology. It takes too long. If the Source of reality has (or IS) an unbounded act of consciousness (which is the classical view of God) then some variant of omniscience seems to follow. No?
I think that misses the point of asking in the first place because we all know the answer to everyone if these questions. Even about consciousness itself. The answer is, "I dont know, and your guess is as good as mine, but this is what I think and how it makes sense to me." Philosophy is about the art of discourse not attacking people's beliefs.
IMHO it's like an ant trying to comprehend the concept of an Omniverse. It won't. Only if the ant can evolve through to an equal sentience will it be able to comprehend the question.
An ALL KNOWING GOD is one of the ideas that convinced me that man created god. Mankind needs a security blanket and hopes there is a being that knows all.
Imagine how much of your ignorance your comment reveals to people who know tremendously more than you. The security blanket is religion, which has nothing whatsoever to do with god but likes to proclaim it does.

@@mxultra8995 no one understand consciousness. It is not a fundamental anything. If humans did not exist, which was the case for about 13.8 billion years, was there consciousness?
Well, God, we're certainly does exist. And he is good and he is consistent. Cuz hes unchanging so God knows all things. But I do believe there's a limit to some avoid I believe. Yes, he knows every possibility of what I'm going to have for dinner or what I think. I'm and all the things I think I'm going to have for dinner. And so by the time I do have dinner. He knows what it may have for dinner before I have it for it. He also knows what's going on inside of my body, and he knows whether I'm going to eat dinner or not because he knows if I'm going to die the next minute. I don't, I'm gonna die the next minute. Cause I don't know what's all going inside of my body God also knows. What his plan is for the future. And he will carry it out at his set times of which we do not know. But as for our own personal plans, those are given to change. Because we change, God allows us to change. And sometimes he influences us, too. And sometimes we beg for mercy. Conti allows us that and it makes it so that we kind of can persuade him as well. At least that is my understanding that I have got an after. I had a great struggle with my own Faith. I knew God was real but I didn't know if he was good. I know he is good and since he is good, I highly doubt that he would have created satan and everybody else here on this Earth as bad 4 created them with the knowledge that they were going to become bad. Because why would he want to watch suffering? Go on and on for a very long time. He certainly doesn't want to watch suffering. Go on and on for a very long time. And that is why there's a second death for those who die. The first death and failed to do what was right to qualify for his Kingdom or failed to get the grace from him..
The set of all thoughts is God. It satisfies all of the attributes expected of God. The concept of God entails a single entity that has the following properties Wisdom: The set of all thoughts will contain the perfect answer to every possible question Infinitude: The set of all thoughts will have an infinite amount of thoughts Sovereignty: There can be no thought that is not an element of the set of thoughts Omniscience: The set of thought is all knowing as it contains all thoughts. If Mathematical Platonism which is the view that mathematical concepts exist eternally. Then God must exist.
To believe that God even thinks is making "IT" a similar being to us as human beings(far from any level of perfection). God is truly outside the scope of Religion, philosophy, and science. It is however, within the scope of personal experience and acknowledgement of "being" based on that experience.
God har created everything by saying his Word and he knows everything. Does it mean that he does not accept any new and constructive thinking that might make life a litle better to us? No, rather it was humans that wanted to be like God, that made such resistance as they hided for God, when they heard him walking in the garden. But God’s plan was that they should live in society with him, so that they might experience that he did his work with them, generation after generation. This is still his intension, so he still calls for them to come into society with him. That’s what the gospel of Christ is about.
and at worse.. he puts thoughts in peoples heads. If what the Christian bible is saying is true.. the reason youre thinking these very thoughts is because God is allegedly giving you over to a reprobate mind through your own desire to sin. Very unhealthy beliefs
If he chooses to feel all of my pain when he has the option of not feeling any of it then he's a masochist. But then that would be in keeping with everything else that's wrong with him.
On classical theism, God doesn’t have any choice on whether he knows your secrets. It may be an invasion of privacy in some sense,, but isn’t something that God is morally accountable for. Stay focused on the coherence of divine attributes and put personal annoyances aside.
Love, peace, gratitude, acceptance. If you have these at the moment of death, you will enter into eternity unashamed, and you will experience profound bliss. But you can't hide from yourself as you die. If you can't abide the truth of your life in it's finality, your burden will destroy you. That is how God knows all. That is what God is.

The story of the six days when God created goes like this, he said something, it happened, he watched it and saw it was good. So it was also the sixth day when he created animals on earth and humans. As creator he knew what he wanted to create, then he just said it and it happened. Then he checked it and got to know it this way also. In the second creation history God also did his work, he told Adam what they should do and what they were not allowed to do. Eva was tempted to do what they were not allowed to, she ate from the tree that gave knowledge of good and bad and gave Adam with her and he also ate. It gave them a wrong way of thinking, so that they became ashamed of themselves and hided away when they heard God walking in the garden. But Abraham believed God so that God declared him righteous and blessed him. And the Jews were told to turn to him and be glad, let their face shine in joy. Then their face will never cover in shame. But they turned away from him and then their sin divided them from him. God remembered it and they remembered it and that was their problem. Their offers for sin was not good enough to change that, it served just as a symbol of what came in the new covenant. With one sin-offer Jesus took away the sin once and for all, with that sin-offer he has once and for always made those perfect who is sanctified. He forgives sin so that he forgets about it and that makes the difference, for he gives them something new to think about instead (Psalm103,3&12 Jesaja 38,17). In the communion the bread symbolizes Jesus’ body and the wine symbolizes Jesus’ blood. Jesus said they should remember him in this way. His blood cleans us from sin and his body is the bread of life (Joh.6,63). He is the new nature, the last Adam, that is from heaven and for us has become a life-giving spirit. We didn’t meet him here on earth, so we can’t remember him this way. But the Holy Spirit reveals Gods Word for us and reveal and glorifies him for us as our savior and Lord. So we can remember him this way. The point is that God creates us in Christ and then he creates us in his image.
Pick God is the one that made everything in a few made everything, and he came up with a principles of what is good and what is evil, and what is it going to hurt him? If he thinks about those things, hes the one that dictates What's good, and what's evil?
I wasn't expecting the reasonable and astute comments to this video that were posted here. It seems that there are more critical thinking people than I had thought. Too bad it wasn't more still! Hope Springs Eternal though, (as the saying goes). Be Well and Stay Safe Folks
God only would care about the present possibilities. The past winds and thinking can be done about by us human. So why should you worry about that? Hes only taken care of everything he can do to make the future better. And he always does, let's. The present is what he's would interested in.
As a person who has premonitions in dreams nearly every night (sometimes about 2 years ahead), I can GARANTEE that if I can know the future.... GOD for sure knows it!
Everyone who received Jesus he gave right to become God's child. This means freedom, because slavery is replaced by childhood. Like a child you can come to your Father with all your needs and wishes, he loves you and cares for you like his child.
I find it curious in a skeptical sort of way that theists have SO MUCH DETAIL about a god and what it thinks.... Can't they just ask instead of just making wild speculations? Well, I guess there is only so much information he's giving out.. lol
The problem is that if you ask 10 people what god is, they will give you 10 diferent descriptions of what god is, how can you believe in one god or godess if you have never seen it and you do not know how it looks like or how it operates? God so far is an idea that has not been proven to exist
I'm an open-minded agnostic/atheist, but I think Omniscience is impossible in the Universe or even beyond like in a parallel world or in a multiverse. Very easy for me to believe in aliens, even ultra powerful and intelligent ones. But I do not believe that a being currently knows or ever will know everything. Of course, how would I know if an omniscient being exists because I am not all-knowing myself?
You're right. God knows what He wants to know. And He can't know the future perfectly because the future doesn't exist yet. A lot of Christians are fighting against the idea of omniscience but it's hard. So many people want God to be omniscient because they're insecure or they were taught that its heresy to think that God can learn. I have a playlist on open theism on my channel, which is basically the Christian movement against omniscience.

In the Persian time the Israelis could return to their country and started to rebuild the temple (520 BC). Neighbouring people accused them at the great king in Persia and hindered their work. The prophet Zachariah encouraged them, with messages from God. In a prophetic view he saw the Devil accusing Josva, the high priest, but an angel told Josva and his associates that they were symbols of what was to come, God’s servant “the Branch” should come. That is Jesus. Only the high priest could go into the most holy place in the temple and only once a year, first with sin-offer for himself, then for the people. And this serves just as a symbol of what was to come, with one offer Jesus took away the sin once and for all. He went into the most holy place in heaven and made way for us, that we may come after him. This we can read about in the Hebrews. One point is to approach the throne of grace with confidence, to receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. When we get help, we become able to help others. Jesus is the bread that came down from heaven, to give the world life, the word he spoke was spirit and life. This is perfect and it is new to the world.
human duality is perhaps a problem when asking these questions. " if so...if not" are limitations. Using limitations to describe unlimited topics might be like trying to explain a rainbow with just two crayons.... Lets just say, not enough crayons to make the picture clear. I figure "all knowing" does not mean everything is all that interesting to God. Probably why we got put here...to experience all these mortal issues and feelings then think about them. That way, God gets a vicarious taste of imperfection....when curious.
You are so close. We have come here to experience different things but it is not a question of 'thinking' about the experiences but who and what you wish to BE in relation to the experiences. When you 'die' God (and your soul don't care what you were thinking (believing), or doing, or having - and neither will you. God ONLY cares what you are BEING.

Zachariah prophesied about a hard time to come, when the incompetent shepherd pastured the flock of sheep to be slaughtered and those who sold them became rich and praised the Lord for it (Zachariah 11). This is about the Greek-Syrian time, under Antiochus 4. Epiphanes it was terribly hard, this Daniel had already prophesied (Dan.11). The incompetent shepherd got rid of three shepherds, surely to replace them. Later it is said that he sold the Lord for 30 silver pieces. It is a prophesy of Judas who betrayed Jesus. Then it is said that the Lord said to somebody: “Take again the equipment of a foolish shepherd …. Then it’s said that he does not care for them, but he eats the meat of the sheeps and tears off their hoofs. Woe to the worthless shepherd, who leaves the flock. In the old covenant they had the circumcision, the point was that they should obey the Law. It was done on the man’s body, the point surely was that when he wanted a women it was God sake too. Apostle Paul said that the point was to be circumcised in the heart by the Hole Spirit and this was by faith in Christ, so it was for gentiles too. We got the Spirit by faith in Christ, for free, without any claim of doing anything, therefor we shall not be circumcised on the body. For we are already circumcised in the heart by the Holy Spirit (Rom.2,25-29 Col.2,9-15). The Spirit is a seal that shows that we belong to him, that is to be saved. And it is a deposit of our heritage. Jesus is the good shepherd and he enables us by giving us spirit and life (Joh.6,63 & Joh.10.1....). But the Jewish leaders did not accept this and claimed that they should be circumcised. Apostle Paul said that they were already circumcised in the Spirit and that was enough. If somebody claims more it is like cutting off more and then the hurt themselves, but that not really the point. So they will become disabled instead of enabled. So the foolish shepherd disables them. Actually, what happens nowadays? Many gentiles circumcise, even girls, but this we don’t find in the Bible at all. Many changes sex, really? No, that is determined by their genes. What they really do is to make themselves sexually disabled. Why? Certainly because the foolish shepherd disables them.
I agree that God has the ability to know everything , but chooses to give his intelligent creations the ability to use their own judgment and freewill which is just one part of the uniqueness of Humanism. Most humans have morals that were born with and could be considered instinctive. Good parenting and community input can build up these already existing qualities where negative input damages or removes these sensibilities. There's very few things that are considered immoral that when initially practised are not recognized as wrong , but with time and repeatability can usually be discounted. So, just as we hope our children freely make the right decisions as they go thru life based on their own freewill and conscientious thought, God allows Mankind the opportunity to do the right thing freely and willingly.

God IS all. So there is no question if God knows all. We are a limited manifestation of consciousness. All we need to do is give up the idea that we are this limited ego.
Yes, but this has major consequences....indeed, the almighty God is normally supposed to BOTH A) being able to make decisions and B) to know the future . Here you should make a distinction between "optional futures" - God could maybe interact and modify them - and "THE ONE FUTURE", because ONLY ONE DETERMINED future will eventually come true. (The one that will become our ONLY ONE PAST). Well, God is supposed to be able to get the best performance: to know that ONE future. But then God MUST JUST LET IT UNFOLD EXACTLY like it is, He is NOT ALLOWED to change anything in it, because God makes no errors in his knowledge of the future! God cannot decide ANYTHING more: ALL God's decisions are already included in that future. What above means that EITHER God is free to decide, but this implies He does NOT know the ONE future, OR He knows the ONE future, but this prevents Him from making ANY further decision. Even worse than that, GOD WOULD BE OBLIGED to HIMSELF slavishly follow that one determined future. This all means the two abilities A) and B) are MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE ("either", "or", but never "BOTH" at the same time). Since obviously God was able to make his decisions and we are also confident that He knows the future, the path followed must be from A) to B). When that transition occurred ? Certainly not during the man's history, of course that must have happened BEFORE the birth of the universe. However, God only arrived at step B) BUT WITHOUT ENTERING that step, we saw earlier that God is absolutely NOT INTERESTED IN TAKING PART to that future: He would be obliged to "SLAVISHLY" follow it. The God's actions in that one future (for example words) will AUTOMATICALLY come true instead. In other words that one future will come true WITHOUT GOD. Thus NOBODY will be there to take the God's actions. The God's words will thus be spoken by the SPIRIT OF GOD since God is not there to speak. Everything was done, God was thus FREE from any other duty. But where has the almighty God gone after that ? Of course He is now the Son of God. The almighty God dropped his then USELESS power to become like a normal man: Jesus. Thus, the almighty God is only IN THE PAST, "no one ever saw God" ""The world has not known you".
Omniscience is better understood as 'all experiencer', since all knowledge is known via experience. Ontologically, this is the same relationship you have with your dreams. Everything in your dream is generated by your consciousness. It is 'known' 100% by 'you'. Everything that happens in it, all interactions, every 'side' of every interaction - all 100% happens in and is experienced by your consciousness. You are Omniscient in your dream. That same relationship carries over into consensus reality. This is 'God's dream', and God is that which sees through every eye, experiences every experience, thinks every thought, and yes - masturbates every masturbation. The illusion going on in consensus reality is that we are separate individuals - and certainly our conscious experiences SEEM separate. However, the nature of God is Omnipresent - everywhere. Our separateness IS the illusion, brought about by the finite nature of our bodies. Everything changes, except for the consciousness experiencing it all. So yes, God knows what it is like to be "Ronald Regan", because that is a form God took - even if God 'forgot' his own divinity to take it. This is exactly like you 'forgetting' you are sleeping when you dream - you get caught up in and hypnotized by whatever the dream story is. The idea that there is 'rubbish' in God's mind is quite funny. We are putting our own human desires on the infinite. To God, every experience is equally valid and loved - that even includes the experiences of children creating squiggles and 'rubbish' on paper. Notice too, with your dreams, that the one experiencing AND the thing experienced are ONE and the same - 'consciousness'. The same is true for consensus reality. There is only God, experiencing God-self in infinite form and from every possible perspective... for all eternity.
Omniscience precludes free-will. So all these experiences were known previously. There is no point watching a 13.8 billion-year movie you already know every scene.
@@ferdinandkraft857 The cosmology being proposed is one in which creator and creature are of one and the same being. It is already evident that we (as creatures) are able to have different sets of knowledge. If, however, we share being, then it is possible there is a more unified perspective where all possible knowledge is already known, while at the same time hidden from the individual creature manifestations... thus preserving BOTH the omniscience of the unified perspective AND the free-will of the separated perspectives. Indeed, our free-will could be part of the creative process, continually adding new experience and new 'knowledge' to the unified perspective. What is this knowledge about? God - since that is the only thing that truly exists. God is endlessly interacting with God and understanding God more fully. It is possible that God is a mystery even to God, as 'that which is unknowable' but also 'that which knows all'.
Why do you limit the creator of space, time, energy, mass to human aspects of knowledge? God need not be limited by time. In a moment to God are all moments as C S Lewis has said.
Dr. Leslie also unfortunately describes anthropological aspects to the nature of God. For example that his "mind" might be cluttered up by unnecessary information ("rubbish"). This presumes a human like limitation in capacity and ability to discern. Not exactly a problem for an omnipotent being
God is only cognitive through all of it's creations inhabited by a busted down version of itself(individualized) within those creations(dense to less dense to the finest of no matter worlds). Once those creations move up the ladder of incarnations of every possible kind does God truly know everything. God can only know all as the experiential being of it's own creations. Sorry to babble. Such thought provoking material!
Unfortunately Dr. Craig conflates knowledge and belief in his argument here. It is perfectly plausible that an omniscient being would know that falsehoods are false, and in order to know that they are false, then he must know of their existence.
Does the all knowing God know what it's like to be murdered/raped or being the murderer or the rapist. Does God feel the moment of the rape or murder by both the parties?
Krishna says in the Bhagavid-gita: " By me in my unmanifested form ( his effulgence ) this entire universe is pervaded. All being are in me, but I am not in them. Omniscient means nothing is outside of him and that he is conscious everything that is happening at all time.
What if the idea of 'knowing' itself is an anthropomorphism? Whatever God is, he is obviously not human so the idea of 'knowing' may not apply in this case.

There are forms of Viṣṇu who are all-knowing, but Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, knows all He enjoys knowing. Kṛṣṇa's unlimited opulences serve His pleasure. This was a good show until one guy said, "God is not a person." That's too wrong for me to continue playing the video.
@Podcast - SørenCast Z Yes. If God were not a person, the perception of objects would not be possible. God's personal features provoke souls into making choices that produce different experiences. Disregarding the reality of God prevents the development of complete theories, because the reduction of whole objects to component parts discards meanings. God is the original meaning, and all meanings exist in the context of God. I'm not very comfortable with the word "God," though, because it usually implies a character described in the Bible, and that's not who I mean.
In what sense do you exist? In what universe do you accept and acknowledge the unfathomable quantity of known information that you don't know, making your comment absurd.
@Stefano Portoghesi Allah does not exist for non believers, Allah does exist for believers. Neither I can prove existence of Allah, nor you can prove non-existence of Allah. How do I know Allah knows everything? I can tell you from a believers perspective. But it doesnot really matter because you are a non-believer. If you are saying you dont believe in God then you are also believing something without evidence. May be it is you, who is deluding himself and I should feel pity for you.
@Stefano Portoghesi According to Islam Allah has 99-104 names (and probably more). In Quran 59:24 it states that, He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names. Whatever is in the heavens and earth is exalting Him. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. So you can call him by Allah, by The All Knowing or The Al-Aleem (Arabic of The All Knowing), Or simply by God. So Allah has no such specific name. But still you will find Elah, Elaha, Elohim similar name to Allah. So, It does not matter by which name you are calling him as long as you are clear in your mind who you are calling to.

What is the problem with asking and exploring metaphysical questions?
God knows EVERYTHING EVERY-THING
God sounds pretty smart in your book!
I can accept that, only if you can prove your claim.
He knows what he wants to know... A lot of facts are banal and boring.
God is by definition all knowing and all beyond our knowing.
And the particular definition you refer to is found . . . where ???? Or did you just make that up ???
can't see God as omniscient and at the same time put any...any limits on him/her...we are, once again, trying to define God by out time/space measurement tools...if God has limits...then God is not God..a superior existence, perhaps, but not THE Existence..I am, that I am...no exceptions....by the way, I am so grateful for your work and these magnificent videos....means a great deal to me in my own daily search.

He will lead you (in spirit) into ALL TRUTH. You just need the faintest flicker of faith, then the quest of the ages will be yours to be a part of. God is not just your destiny, He will be your final destination, that is, if you can find him😇 CTT
How do all these thinkers know so much about an entity only conceived and not discovered?
It doesn't matter for two reasons. (1) God may not be a single person the way humans normally think of personhood. (2) The universe has laws of cause and effect. Nothing happens in complete isolation. Eventually there is a reaction to every little thing that happens. Therefore you can postulate a "personal " god who knows everything and then takes appropriate action. Or you can simply let everything take care of itself. The result will be the same either way. Deism, theism, or atheism . . . the universe is the same no matter our choice of beliefs.
God has no limitations, if he exists.🙏

@Stefano Portoghesi Ohh, ok:)
There, he said it himself, at 3:00 - “God wouldn’t know how it feels to be a sinner.” But if that’s the case, Dr. Craig, then who is He to judge?
Divine omniscience must comprise subjective knowledge, encompassing first-person perspectives of all possible experiences-whether human or otherwise, pleasurable or painful. This view contrasts with the understanding of divine omniscience in classical theism. Divine omniscience not only knows everything that is possible but also understands every possibility as actual. It is aware of all propositional and non-propositional truths, representing the eternal experience of all possible experiences. If this thought does not evoke both awe and dread in you, then you are not truly comprehending it.
Robert misses every chance to ask the most important question when they make these positive claims.... "How do you know that?"
This is stupidest analogy ever made. Literally.

The concept of God entails a single entity that has the following properties
Wisdom: The set of all thoughts will contain the perfect answer to every possible question
Infinitude: The set of all thoughts will have an infinite amount of thoughts
Sovereignty: There can be no thought that is not an element of the set of thoughts
Omniscience: The set of thought is all knowing as it contains all thoughts.

It's much easier to just be ignorant. Then you can make a statement like that.

Dr. Leslie seems to present a case for the impossibility of God's existence.
It would be jn the best interest of this series to include Leo Gura as a guest at least once. This is absolutely essential.

I lose brain cells every time I listen to WLC.
I’d say 40% of what he says is very intelligent and worth thinking about, 50% if absolute garbage, and 10% is mixed
Yes, eventually. Lol. 👍🏻 But seriously this is a great, deep question which forces the question about what knowledge is. Excellent ❤️
I agree that God has the ability to know everything , but chooses to give his intelligent creations the
ability to use their own judgment and freewill which is just one part of the uniqueness of Humanism.
Most humans have morals that were born with and could be considered instinctive. Good parenting
and community input can build up these already existing qualities where negative input damages or
removes these sensibilities. There's very few things that are considered immoral that when initially
practised are not recognized as wrong , but with time and repeatability can usually be discounted.
So, just as we hope our children freely make the right decisions as they go thru life based on their own freewill and conscientious thought, God allows Mankind the opportunity to do the right thing
freely and willingly.
Opportunities in EVERY moment.

The question is currently irrelevant as there is no means to test the question. Before you ask this question there needs to be evidence of a God. To me, so much depends on how we define things. If we define a thing called "God" as omni...this and that, don't you think we should be able to prove what we just said in our definitions? This is one of the reasons that I do not(and will never) believe in a thing called "God".

Nonsense.
@@ferdinandkraft857
Nonsense isn't an argument. Try again
Time isn't a limit... For example, time is a prerequisite for creating.

@Stefano Portoghesi According to Islam Allah has 99-104 names (and probably more).
In Quran 59:24 it states that,
He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor, the Fashioner; to Him belong the best names.
