You says its pride AND insecurity (lack of confidence) - that the wealth is a short cut but rabbi, the reality is that for some of us our fathers wealth/ money/ "support" is a deep dark pit that one can never climb out of. Making a clear break is the best we can do to get out of the darkness.

I relate to this.
I don't think I'd ever be comfortable living an overwhelmingly wealthy life. It just doesn't sit with me. It doesn't mean I wouldn't enjoy a comfy life, just... Fancy stuff, dinners, mansions? For what? Idk, it's just not me, it doesn't sit with me. Makes me feel uneasy to think about. What would a person do with that many stuff anyway? 🥱
