From an adventurous balloon ride above the clouds to a monster-filled metropolis, Academy Award®-winning director Pete Docter (“Monsters, Inc.,” “Up”) has taken audiences to unique and imaginative places. In Disney•Pixar’s original movie “ Inside Out,” he will take us to the most extraordinary location of all-inside the mind.
Growing up can be a bumpy road, and it's no exception for Riley, who is uprooted from her Midwest life when her father starts a new job in San Francisco. Like all of us, Riley is guided by her emotions - Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Bill Hader), Anger (Lewis Black), Disgust (Mindy Kaling) and Sadness (Phyllis Smith). The emotions live in Headquarters, the control center inside Riley’s mind, where they help advise her through everyday life. As Riley and her emotions struggle to adjust to a new life in San Francisco, turmoil ensues in Headquarters. Although Joy, Riley's main and most important emotion, tries to keep things positive, the emotions conflict on how best to navigate a new city, house and school.

I vividly remember watching this trailer when It was uploaded, and 9 years later, as of today Inside Out 2 is finally in theaters. It’s a little scary how fast time went by since this trailer came out.

The idea and concept about this movie is just incredible, hats off and props to the directors, if they did this sober or under the influence I don’t care, incredible animation, and all adults should watch this.
Only saw a two minute scene and I already love this movie. Nice job Pixar!

I know the premise to this movie is the little girl (Riley) moving into a new town, and struggling with life..and after some serious thinking, I think I have an idea of what this movie is going to be about. Alright, so..notice how in the parent's brains their emotions are all agreeing with one another, and conforming under one leader? While, inside Riley's mind, everything is bonkers for control, and who gets to do what? I think this whole movie is about how Disgust and Anger think they have the most control in this mind, and Joy and the others don't seem to like it. While Riley is battling the real-world, the emotions in her head battle for dominance as Riley's main emotion, the one she usually turns to. Maybe they all have their own unique way they think Riley should grow up, like Anger thinks Riley should be mean and nasty, but assertive to get what she wants, while Fear thinks she should be sheltered and afraid to step out of her comfort zone. I really do think this movie is going to revolve around some sort of power struggle, and either Anger or Disgust is going to be the antagonist; but not exactly doing bad things, just trying to live life the way they think could protect the girl they live inside of.
Just thinking is all..this movie has great possibilities, and I am sooo excited for it!

I finally got the chance to see this movie today and... I have to admit, despite the fact that I'm 14, that I loved it! It was one of the cleverest and most fascinating animated movies i've ever seen due to the innovative concept of the plot. You shouldn't miss it because it's probably the best film of the year. I really hope that they considered making a sequel.

Anyone else find it interesting the main or "leader" emotion in the mom and dad are sadness and anger respectively while Riley's is joy, apparently?
It's ironic that, for a movie focusing on a GIRL'S inner emotions, its trailer showcases more of her parents' emotions!
I guess they don't want to give away too much about Riley's emotions. they're just giving us an idea of the movie using the parents.
isn't one of the rules of advertising anything is to "leave them wanting more"?

The animation on Disgust is fantastic.

i see a bunch of y'all wondering about why the mom has all female emotions and the dad has all male emotions, but riley has both! if you also notice, the emotions of the mom are all dressed like the mom: same hair, glasses, style etc. same goes for the dad. i'm guessing this is because they've who they are got it all figured out. they know exactly who they are and who they want to be. riley's emotions are completely mismatched. riley's still figuring it out, she has no idea who she really is, what she wants to look like, act like, etc. maybe she's also figuring out her gender as well? just my thoughts!

It's like Herman's Head meets Monster's Inc. I love it.

***** It's what sells. Reverse the roles in the clip and there would be riots. It's unbelievable.
***** My first thoughts excactly. I have such great respect for Pixar, but this asinine portrayal of both genders is just a wasted oppurtunity. They could have made the dad a hardass, but with real life compassion and feelings on the inside, or made the mother a super happy strong woman, but with inherent grief on the inside.
What we're left with though, is just two completely one dimensional stereotypes, who, without a doubt, will both morph into some sort of Pixar-perfect human being by the end of the movie, still with no fears or flaws or anything.
***** I'm just hoping they would be real well-developed characters in the movie, but yeah this trailer does leave a little negative impression.

***** True, you can't trust Hollywood to 'take a risk' to do something right, but then again this is Pixar we're talking about. The creativity I saw on the other trailer is so wonderful that I think the overall feel of this movie is on the right track. I'm a little concerned too, but I think we're justified in hoping.
Imagine if Dreamworks had tried to make this instead. It would've been full of pop culture references and crude humor. It wouldn't have had this innocence and originality.
I have a feeling that throughout the movie, Riley will start to go through some changes, causing the Feelings to unexpectedly fuse creating new emotions, and then un fuse and wonder what's going on and why.
Inside Out is my favorite movie cause it was soon AWESOME!!!!!

Fun fact the crew were originally going to have 27 emotions of the film but they decided to 5 emotions to make it easy to animate some emotions were cut include surprised pride and trust

The emotions don't stay consistent with their character traits in the father and mother. Only Riley's does. But who knows until the film comes out.
