I really love this song by Wham. I think George’s vocals are, as usual, top notch. I agree with you about the music video though I will say I like the extended version of the song itself. Thanks for another insightful reaction! ✌🏻🙂✌🏻
In 2006 George released a song called Understand. He said the song was written as a follow-up to ETSW. In other words listen carefully to the words from Understand and It will then reveal the rest of the story and what happened with this relationship. The songs are a little over 20 years apart but It does have an ending to the story of that relationship. You must listen.
George was master of putting our common day-by-day struggles and feelings into words as only great poets are able to do it. It’s still more astonishing that he wrote this when he was only an adolescent, with so little love life experiences. As he became more mature in career, these other versions of this song reflect the progression of his knowlege and talent. And how he had fun revisting his own job, together with artists that cooperated with him enormously for longtime. Some gems versions of the same song to show George’s progression in artistic maturity, and with lots of fun for him and for us, the fans: ua-cam.com/video/oqNW-LC47jo/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/JSiXu4e4EwY/v-deo.html Thanks for this great reaction!
Great reaction and analysis! I get as much pleasure listening to you talk about songs as I do from the song itself! 🙂 It's so impressive how you absolutely nail the song's meaning (in addition to breaking down the production) i.e. in this case, the working class story he's telling. 👍 You should check out “HARD DAY" next. It’s also from the Faith album and it’s one of his funkiest songs, it's right up your alley! 😉 The production on it is next level so I'd love to hear you analyze it.
George was very proud of this song, unlike most of the songs he did in Wham, calling this his favorite Wham song. He continued to preform this live in concert before his death.
This might be my favorite Wham! song. I knew the video was going to throw you off, if for no other reason, because they used the remix rather than the album version. Like others have commented, I prefer the remix too because of the additional lyrics. One thing that always cracks me up about the video is watching George and Andrew spinning around on stage. I almost get dizzy just from watching them, lol. Great reaction!

Thanks for watching! I’ll have to listen to the extended version in audio form. The crowd cheers in the video were distracting.

Thanks so much! Will definitely add that one to my list!
My favorite Wham song, but I prefer the remix and the original video version, also the unplugged version he did in 1996 is fantastic.
Yes MTV version is Amazing!!
Cool! Glad to hear he performed it after he launched his solo career! Will definitely check it out!

I always wondered if this was an oblique reference to his relationship with their record company.
I love your reactions and I love George Michael.
