Only a few weeks before his talk-of-the-town traditional wedding to the woman he gave assurance to marry someday, Davido filed for joint custody of his 9-year-old first daughter, Imade. In the court document, the DMW Boss noted that he is not a deadbeat, and Sophia oppresses him despite all his efforts to ensure a better life for their daughter.

The child does not have to be subjected to a step mother when her mother is alive. A step mother and a mother are two different things. To come now into the child's life to try to separate her from her mom is against the principles of the best interest of the child. That is what people are saying. The adults and their decisions are not the center-point here!

But based on the fundamental principles of child protection and the best interest of the child, the baby girl should be left with her mother and not forced into the care of a step mother and face the risks of maltreatment. Davido should face his marriage and stop trying to separate child from mother! He can provide for his child while the child remains in the custody of her mother. A step mother cannot love a child more than the child's biological mother.

@@chigozieogbuehi9259 I am in the Child Social Welfare sector and I seen all kinds of things. Don't make any assumptions about who can be nasty to a child they did not birth and who cannot. Besides, every child child is entitled to be with his/mother and get that natural motherly love except where it has been proven that the mother does not have that love. Being in the custody of her mother does not prevent her from seeing her father -either during holidays or at weekends or whichever timings the court/parents agree upon. But to take her away from her mother and transfer her to a step mother, NO!
