Will advise you its always better to go by estate agents its more safer and stress free yea you will spend more but its better than the bitter experience. And its mandatory to do police verification before move in i am not sure if your owner has done that or no. I feel they scammed you guys . But be positive. And lots of love and peace

Actually in Delhi, rent culture is different there is no need to do any police verification here you can easily get a budget friendly house with good(not all offcourse)owners

I can completely relate to this. It has happened to me as well in Chennai. I have had a good impression about South Indians and I have a lot of South Indian friends. But one time when I shifted to a new PG that lady was so mean...room mates were so mean. They hated me from day one without even knowing me... I stayed there for 45 days then I had to leave that place and I got a new one which was better...
If you are moving out from home to any new city, first try to find a good hotel where you can stay for a week or so or any relatives place. In that time search for your own place. One should always do this in person and not online as there are many frauds and cons in the property dealing area. Only few people are genuine and that you will only come to know when you meet them in person. I wish you good luck and hope you buy your own place in Mumbai soon❤

Don't loose hope, but I would suggest next time try to talk to someone who already lives there, like maybe distant family or even some creater friends about renting properties!! Also, in mumbai some locations can be insanely more expensive compared to others. It is horrible when we have to deal with such people!! Have faith❤❤ Something better is bound to come.

I also live alone I am working girl I also faced the same problems you faced there one thing I would like to suggest you that you are paying such a huge amount for rent so next time don't go without making the rent agreement and make sure that all the points including reparing and etc etc should be covered in that agreement so that you will be on safer side

I was also leaving with my sister when I came to Mumbai for studies from small town...we also faced a very hard time without electricity, water supply and with so many mosquitos n so many things but still humne himmat ni Hari aur survive kiya is ummid mai ek din sab accha hoga...aur finally all is good now...I brought my family here with me and taking care of them very well ❤ aur this is not the worst experience I must say..humse kayi jyda buri life jine vale log hote hai cities Mai who are still struggling....So its all about man ki shakti to fight with every battle confidently with patience 💯
I faced the same thing when I came to Mumbai for work. The owner was a filthy lady. Inspite of giving her rent on 1st of every month, she harassed me for everything. She always try to pickup topics for speaking against me in society. At last I lodged a complaint in police, The owner was arrested for harassing a single living lady (me). She came back in a day on bail. I vacated that flat within a month. And now living peacefully in my new home.

For quite settle person this happen imagine how much struggle girls face in initial phase with nothing in hand. Some struggle is actually good you become strong and aware of handling ppl. I can totally relate with you because something like happened with me in Gurgaon as well and when we left the flat owner refused to give back the security money to us. Sometimes you meet such greedy people in your life
Same thing happened with my friend in Noida..his pg owner was very greedy...he also left that pg with 20k loss...and the owner also not return anything...he lived 2 days and he was really upset as he is a student and his parents have to pay that loss 🥲🥲.... people are very greedy and rude nowadays 💔

It's frankly everywhere. I can relate so much to this. I studied in DU, and I had to change 3 flats in 1.5 years coz of shitty owners. The last 2 were so greedy about money. And the worst is everyone was like "beta aap to humare bachhe jaise ho." 🤦🏻♀️ I'm so glad I got out of that place and now I'll rather stay in a PG or Hostel.
Its ok tina , it is tough but you learnt a life lesson, just cherries the happy part. I have been tennent for most part of my life after my 12 th and understood the behaviour of landlords are very harsh n brutal sometimes.it is best you dont let them overwhelmed you. Mumbai me 95k rent Juhu/Versova me hoga hi for the well-furnished house u lived in; Bandra side more it is. Har society k rules hote hain,what all u said are common ones, it happens everywhere u should have enquired about the rules of society before going.. Bachelors hi nahi, kuch societies me Muslim community k log ko bhi entry allowed nahi hoti aur wall repair and paint toh USA/Canada me bhi jab aap rented ghar leave karte hain toh karna padta.. And note it, Mumbai me rehna hi ek struggle, fir career banana other struggle..and acting field me toh aur bhi bada struggle. U girls could not take it.

I have also faced a problem like u ...I m from assam I stay with my mom and sister . In 2019 I shifted in my own newly made house but the problem started when our neighbouring started doing black magic in my family .....so when I came to know about this fact we left out house and we are staying now in a rent house but our landlord is a good human being...
THINK POSITIVE....U HAD A VERY USEFUL EXPERIENCE...MOREOVER U BECAME BRAVE FROM THE INCIDENTS HAPPENNED THERE. MONEY IS NOT ABOVE PEACE OF MIND. GOD BLESS U ALWAYS

I have suffered the same issue in Delhi while studying there.....I also take food from them because they said its home cooked food and healthy....but that lady daily give me two plain bread with a single slice of cucumber....blkl plain dal chawal in lunch and any sasti sbji n roti in dinner on daily basis ad she also told to clean my thali everytime I eat....I was like ok let's tolerate....I go to class daily eating plain dal chawal which I won't eat ever at my home but still student think peaceful living is much better option...most of the time they lock the door and went out without informing me whenever I came from my classes....neither they give keys for my room nor they inform....after repeated waiting to get doors unlocked I thought I should change that place....once I informed her that I will be leaving after one month she was like banging on my doors and started shouting on me like I am someone who is living on her bread....she said Maine gold bangles bnwa liye hai kyuki muje lga tha tm to ek sal atleast rhogi to mere pas extra paise aayenge mera budget hill gya hai and she was shouting like crazy....I told her to go out of my room...then her husband came and he joined her and they both started arguing that I can't leave then I kick them out of my room forcefully and called that agent and threatened him that I will go to the police tomorrow morning and both husband wife and you will go to jail and I will make sure that your license got cancelled because I am suffering harassment....that agent knew them personally very well and he said very gud things about them that's I stayed at that place giving huge money....nxt morning I went for my classes and the moment I enter they started apologising....and they returned my advance money ....sometimes landlord take there tenants like wo koi ehsan kr rhe hai....ya akele smjh kr v torture krte hai for more money....but if you haven't done anything wrong or haven't done anything out of contract paper then show them there right place otherwise they will keep harassing other tenants
I am too staying at Mumbai for last 15 yrs .I know and can understand what u went through..it's really a bad luck of urs that u had to face such from ur landlady! as generally most landlords are cooperative but yes some r quite troublesome !! feeling bad what happened to u and way u were treated. A small suggestion ...Go straight to consumer forum and lodge complaint againt them as u must have had a agreement ...and u must have given broker deposit too along with ur security deposit .. which is actually meant for yearly maintenance for renters on thier behalf , why then we pay that unaccounted money , so even if the wall is little damaged it's nots urs responsibility but it's the brokers duty to repair not u...as that money is illegally taken without any prove..go and fight it out dear..as the land lady has no right to manipulate u like this...

As a student/bachelor, landlords/landladies would never let us live peacefully. Koi na koi problem create kr dete hai aur security deposit mein se cut krenge ye toh all time fav dialogue hai unka I have stayed in Mumbai and pune Pune is far better option than Mumbai and here people are thoda bahut helpful Pune is a great city for bachelors and students

I relate to your problem so much.. I just shifted to Kolkata and literally had a hard time looking for a good home.. luckily I remained patient and didn't fall for the traps and this hasty behaviour of some owners.. Finally found one just a day before returning to my hometown..

Actually it's not the problem of Mumbai it's the problem of whole Maharashtra and I'm saying this not on the basis of 1-2 days Orr month Orr a year experience am saying this on the basis 20 yr experience here people are so so so rude towards outsiders like if you are from Maharashtra they will treat you in a better way but if you are outsiders and try to speak in hindi they will just insult you so bad I have already experienced this so many times the more you go to City area the more rude people you find

It's frankly everywhere. I can relate so much to this. I studied in DU, and I had to change 3 flats in 1.5 years coz of shitty owners. The last 2 were so greedy about money. And the worst is everyone was like "beta aap to humare bachhe jaise ho." 🤦🏻♀️ I'm so glad I got out of that place and now I'll rather stay in a PG or Hostel.
Its ok tina , it is tough but you learnt a life lesson, just cherries the happy part. I have been tennent for most part of my life after my 12 th and understood the behaviour of landlords are very harsh n brutal sometimes.it is best you dont let them overwhelmed you. Mumbai me 95k rent Juhu/Versova me hoga hi for the well-furnished house u lived in; Bandra side more it is. Har society k rules hote hain,what all u said are common ones, it happens everywhere u should have enquired about the rules of society before going.. Bachelors hi nahi, kuch societies me Muslim community k log ko bhi entry allowed nahi hoti aur wall repair and paint toh USA/Canada me bhi jab aap rented ghar leave karte hain toh karna padta..
And note it, Mumbai me rehna hi ek struggle, fir career banana other struggle..and acting field me toh aur bhi bada struggle. U girls could not take it.
And what about the manipulation and inhumane treatment they got. Is dealing with psychological headache also a part of society rules??

I have also faced a problem like u ...I m from assam I stay with my mom and sister . In 2019 I shifted in my own newly made house but the problem started when our neighbouring started doing black magic in my family .....so when I came to know about this fact we left out house and we are staying now in a rent house but our landlord is a good human being...
THINK POSITIVE....U HAD A VERY USEFUL EXPERIENCE...MOREOVER U BECAME BRAVE FROM THE INCIDENTS HAPPENNED THERE.
MONEY IS NOT ABOVE PEACE OF MIND. GOD BLESS U ALWAYS
It’s same like a international students who are moving to other countries like Canada or Australia. They are facing the the same problems but the thing is we can’t come back and our parents is not here with us 😞 we have to face every problem by ourself and it’s not just for some time. Then I moved to another house in the same society after some time ..that lady started to influence my land lady at that time...bt this new aunty was really generous and sweet..she took my side I. Front of that lady... and said ..iss bchi jaise toh chahe 2 or aa Jaye itni achi h ye...
And ya I can also relate that it stays with you (the trauma)...it really affects you...

I have suffered the same issue in Delhi while studying there.....I also take food from them because they said its home cooked food and healthy....but that lady daily give me two plain bread with a single slice of cucumber....blkl plain dal chawal in lunch and any sasti sbji n roti in dinner on daily basis ad she also told to clean my thali everytime I eat....I was like ok let's tolerate....I go to class daily eating plain dal chawal which I won't eat ever at my home but still student think peaceful living is much better option...most of the time they lock the door and went out without informing me whenever I came from my classes....neither they give keys for my room nor they inform....after repeated waiting to get doors unlocked I thought I should change that place....once I informed her that I will be leaving after one month she was like banging on my doors and started shouting on me like I am someone who is living on her bread....she said Maine gold bangles bnwa liye hai kyuki muje lga tha tm to ek sal atleast rhogi to mere pas extra paise aayenge mera budget hill gya hai and she was shouting like crazy....I told her to go out of my room...then her husband came and he joined her and they both started arguing that I can't leave then I kick them out of my room forcefully and called that agent and threatened him that I will go to the police tomorrow morning and both husband wife and you will go to jail and I will make sure that your license got cancelled because I am suffering harassment....that agent knew them personally very well and he said very gud things about them that's I stayed at that place giving huge money....nxt morning I went for my classes and the moment I enter they started apologising....and they returned my advance money ....sometimes landlord take there tenants like wo koi ehsan kr rhe hai....ya akele smjh kr v torture krte hai for more money....but if you haven't done anything wrong or haven't done anything out of contract paper then show them there right place otherwise they will keep harassing other tenants
I am too staying at Mumbai for last 15 yrs .I know and can understand what u went through..it's really a bad luck of urs that u had to face such from ur landlady! as generally most landlords are cooperative but yes some r quite troublesome !! feeling bad what happened to u and way u were treated. A small suggestion ...Go straight to consumer forum and lodge complaint againt them as u must have had a agreement ...and u must have given broker deposit too along with ur security deposit .. which is actually meant for yearly maintenance for renters on thier behalf , why then we pay that unaccounted money , so even if the wall is little damaged it's nots urs responsibility but it's the brokers duty to repair not u...as that money is illegally taken without any prove..go and fight it out dear..as the land lady has no right to manipulate u like this...
