I wouldnt mind if the entire show would have been in this goofy style but such a sudden change for one episode which should be epic and not funny/absurd totally killed this fight for me.

Secondly, I see people complain about that despite the storyboard being amazing and the art looking wonderful and smooth in the second half, so much so that transitioning to the next episode feels very jarring being mostly still frames and shitty close-ups... And finally, I get your criticism, but my original comment isn't directed at you but the people who say the episode has "bad animation", which is just factually wrong and naive thinking. I can understand how it would feel jarring to you when it comes to immersion, but didn't you feel about that in the original Naruto vs Sasuke fight, Sasuke vs Killer Bee, Sasuke VS Deidara, Kakashi VS Hidan and Kakuzu... All those fights has similar animators and stylistic choices, was it just because of those few off-model scenes that you concluded the fight isn't immersive ? As an animator that's pretty unfair in my eyes and I don't agree with it, especially considering the only cut you could consider "goofy" is the first Pain ground punch, but that was probably just a one time stylistic choice if anything. I still disagree with what you said, but I understand where you're coming from, just hope you also understand why climax episodes like these might look like this at times.

There was at least 1 hyuga clan ninja next to Sakura talking about it, 2nd the slug was also delaying the information to a lot of the other ninja. I not saying that everyone has to come help but the 3 to 4 people that knew should have done something.
Naruto really does boost every channel it touches. you will see a ton of growth for this series but... once this is done views might go down :( btw naruto was supposed to end after this arc... 700 episodes are just an extension... of what they wanted to do before ending it.

The animation is purposely made like this to tell us that Tendo Pain is just a puppet not a living human thats why it moves abnormally sometimes and get hits abnormally. Thats why he didn't get burned like sakura when she touches that nine tales chakra

The "Tragic" OST at the end of the episode is one of my all time favorites. The sight of Yamato's panic, the fox raining down a meteor shower of hellfire from above, and Naruto losing the last bits of his human conscience; altogether make the scene and soundtrack fantastic.
