The second car I've ever done, this week I pimped out a classic van body from pre-1977. Hope you like it! Audio is kinda bad.. Working on it.. You know what they say.. 3rd Mic is the charm! Thanks for the support guys!

This is the second car I ever worked on, most of my newer videos are a lot better. Thanks for watching my friends!

Good idea for free time
This is the 1st hotwheel restore I watched ever, liked it, thinking about making it another hobby of mine. Good work.
Incredible to watch you evolve from 2018 to 2022 in materials, techniques, quality control, and so on. Come back! Can't wait to see what you're doing now.
The wheels remind me of sticking a dvd player in a classic just don't mix
Agreed 👍 now it looks like just another modern recast😪
Turned out beautiful! Maybe a little polishing compound might smooth out some of the “orange peel” imperfections, after letting that paint harden and cure for a few more days. But overall, it turned out gorgeous. Great color. I saw a customized Hot Wheels Van at a modeling show once with those old style, tinted porthole bubble windows that were popular in the late ‘70’s, during the Van Craze...it was all drilled out, and the guy used a thin, tinted plastic sheet that he heated with a hair dryer to form those bubble portholes, then used a silver chrome paint pen to reproduce the trim ring around the “glass.” That turned out pretty nice.
There’s so many great ideas out there for customizing these little gems. The possibilities are endless.
I love watching these older videos and seeing how much you’ve progressed since this.
People are getting all persnickety about using modern wheels, but as you said, it's an experiment. I think it turned out great.
I don't know why but it's very soothing for my eyes to watch this video
Sweeeet ride👍Next up custom '66 Batmobile (Blue glass) Spectraflame pink and Redline Wheels, you know you wanna 😊
XD

Lol
There is truly a UA-cam channel for everything. Don't even care for hot wheels but I like painting and restoration, so this is fun to watch
Watch a newer video of mine, they are so much better than that video!
I have spent my entire Saturday watching your vids, Thanks!
Just watching a grown man playing with a toy car very cool.
Wow nice paint. I’m a 70’s kid and love custom vans
I have more of them to do! I want to find a shorty van as well and put some cragers on it lol
@@DiecastResurrection I'm 54 and wanted a mid 70's Chevy Van with Cragers, side pipes, and Chevy Bowtie porthole windows. Even though I had a job at 16 and was going to buy it, my parents refused. They new I would have girls in it and partying. Listening to Van Halen and Kiss.
Here’s a tip... use two bottles of thinner. One for silver and metallics, the second for none metallics. Same principle for brushes. Sweet ride!!
You should be able to adjust your automatic center punch so that it doesn't take as hard of a push to make it fire. It won't hit as hard, but you will have more control and can push down on it a few times. I believe you should just be able to unscrew the back cap a bit to get that adjustment. Give it a try on a test surface.
BaremetalHW is a tough act to follow I think but I enjoyed the couple videos of yours. Looking forward to seeing more of vids.
Thanks for the tip, I tried it today on the next project and it was better! :D
thank you for the inspiration, taking my full size car career to 1/64 in retirement. Can't wait to experiment, love your video!
I need to know the rest of the red wine story
I was pumped to see it zinc coated and spectra flamed. Then I seen it was a way earlier piece. Came out nice all the same. Good job. Keep up the good work. Your show is good.
I had no clue people actually restore hot wheels and how to do it. I wish I held onto this one car I had all through out my childhood I brung with me for a while that way I could restore it. Very cool video definitely looking into doing something like this
Those mainlines look cool though a set of steely's would look crisp as well. Noish finish and the metalflake first coat was a stellar move
I liked everything but changing the wheels to newer ones great job
nice! the white interior looks really good with the pink spectraflame. the bigger rear wheels give a nice rake, too. can't wait to see more stuff from you! looks like you're gonna be up there with baremetalHW and WheelsNThangs soon, as far as best hot wheels resto/custom channels go.
Well I’m going to try offer the best restorations I can! Hopefully things go well.
you're definitely on the right track!
nonotnyet ...I also watch Marty’s Matchbox Makeovers, he’s an Australian guy that restores vintage Matchbox cars & trucks if anyone’s interested in those little car projects. He’s a very funny, quirky bloke, and usually always has a joke or two while filming, and includes post-video outtakes of his flubs while he’s rescuing a nice old vintage Matchbox diecast. Check him out on UA-cam if interested...
I watch all Marty’s videos as well, I gotta say.. I like them throughly.. but that music is slowly making me go insane lol.
i never really noticed the music before. i like that he sticks with only early lesney matchbox cars. it's a nice change of pace from hot wheels, and he has a nice dry sense of humour.
Miss you bud, how everything's ok over there in the prairies.
mean terrible machine!!!!! your colors were out of this world great customizing!!!!! good job
awesome! I cant wait to start customizing cars! this video really helped
It looks like you ran in to a egg 4:03
ps good job on the van
you might try the Molotow Chrome pen as a chrome base. It is by far the best faux chrome I have found and works great on model cars. it can also be thinned and sprayed through an airbrush with great results.
that van looks badass sweett!!! nice color!!!
Nice, soaking plastic parts in brake fluid also gently removes paint, good for clear parts, no scratching.
Wow that thing lots hot buddy!!
Io lo facevo a 10 anni.
Tu sei un professionista
Helps to see the real world of custom work. I will be better equipped to try stuff! More fun than a barrel of monkeys!
That was a sweet color on the 1974 Van! I wonder if the grooves along the sides of the Van would have looked pretty good with Chrome Silver lines on it? It was still a good job though! ✌️
I'm a kid and I love your channel!
very good job. like the color and the interior details.
What a mechanic!!
The original yellow paint tells me that van is the Paramedic Van, which I still have from my youth.
Awesome job buddy that color is wicked great job thanks for sharing buddy 👍👍
Beautiful job!
Your videos are entertaining to watch and you do pretty nice cars, keep up the good work. The van needs some graphics pin striping or something else to break up side of the van.
Looks really good, great color choice.
The oldies are goodies!
Omg I actually have this van,
Hint: 1 word, starts with the letter A...give up? If you guessed "AWESOME" you nailed it!
Ugh Jeff.. please don't watch the old videos. They are terrible!
Im just wstching your videos, I really enjoy your channel you put so much into it. About me wstching the first ones dont worry about them but be proud of your work you gave it your all and as you do more your craft or talent will get better and better and the first videos allows you to see where you were and how far you have progressed. Lovr your channel and have an AWESOME New Year filled with health and happiness.
Looks nice!!
Nice job ,just don't use that stirrer to froth your coffee.!cheers from UK.
Great job! Sorry I didn't see it earlier.
This should be an actual model, looks sick! But wouldve looked better with windows though. :)
Bad ass Van ! 👍
Damn right!
Super cool😊❤
Really sweet dude. Thanks for sharing
Wow it looks nicer
We got some pretty big wheels “come back here”
Good fun! thank you
You should put the liquid chrome pin stripe around the van
Pretty cool! Keep it up
Please join me in honoring the second anniversary of the last post on this channel - August 13, 2022 - with a 21 blub salute. This channel is sorely needed in these uncertain times. I hold out hope that one day he'll be back, if simply to say goodbye. Until then, I will start re-watching the entire run in order.
Cool. Needs groovy decals
Stop the paint 3:50 is perfect that barn find look
Put a working sunroof, plush interior, and a working stereo in it along with rear door glass. And flames. Cant do a van without flames....and upswept exhaust pipes. That would be cool.
That wine in the van scenario sounds an awful lot like That 70s Show.
Super cool!
cool talent uou have
That’s Pepto Bismol pink but it looks good.
Nice cute van + nice channel= sup
Wow amazing video
Just found this channel,Great work..The white interior was a nice touch
Hey that's pretty cool man
Ahhhh....I want a Mistery Machine 😓....But amazing work 👍🏼
Love it nice job
Love for you to do my 55 or 57 chevy hot wheel. Its good work on the van.
Good job man
Just curious, do you sell these bad boys? I'd love to buy 👍
I might later on when I get better at it, I don’t have a huge attachment to any of the cars. I like the project part more!
Diecast Resurrection so where are you going to sell it?
Just curious, do you sell thèse Bad boys ? l'd love tout buy
@@DiecastResurrection de
Oust
Curious...why didn't you just trim away some of the inside of the tires for the back, instead of cutting off the metal support?
WOW,THIS IS AMIZING
Love the pink ,,omg
Primo resto Buddy!
What would you do differently on this one?
Any chance of a redeaux?
19:12 LVL 1 CROOK

I'm sure you're annoyed by all the questions about what tools/materials you use when you have a list in the info....But, what size drill bits do you use for drilling out the rivets and for those self tapping screws? Also, what's the size of screw you use? Love your vids keep up the good work!
I use these -- > www.redlineshop.com/shop/rivets-and-screws/restoration-screws-self-tapping-bright-set-of-10-20-total/
The Rivets are in all different sizes depending on the car, so you gotta kinda use your judgement on that one bub!
@@DiecastResurrection But I don't wanna use my judgment!🤣
Do you think it would be possible to lightly electric solder the axles back into place instead of glue?
Absolutely amazing what brand liquid chrome do you use.?
Dude I love your video bro!!! I gotta ask, what kinda wheel is that u grind with and where did u get it?
I would use jb weld for the axles instead of glue
Superb bro
Great work! What liquid chrome pen are you using?
I would have made the Mystery Machine from Scooby-Doo. xD
Plenty more vans where that came from!
The original Mystery Machine is a V-dub!
The original Mystery Machine is less like a VW than any of the other vans of the era.
Let's start with the windshield. The Transporter had separate left and right windshields, The Mystery Machine has a single piece design. Next, look at the pronounced "bulge" between the top and bottom halves of the van. The Transporter was flat-sided. If you've ever taken notice of the rear of The Mystery Machine, the taillights are the wrong shape, size and location. Finally, take a look at the rear doors. Their positioning and size would indicate the lack of an engine bay back there, something that the VW definitely had.
It wouldn't be a Dodge van either. One look at those huge headlight bezels on the Dodge vans of that era, immediately disqualify it, just because it's too much of a styling cue to ignore or even accidentally leave out.
It looks exactly nothing like a Ford Econoline or a Falcon van just because of the headlight and parking light locations and styles. Also noticably missing from The Mystery Machine are the huge air intake holes above the front bumper that are present on the Ford Econoline and Dodge vans.
It can't be a Chevrolet Corvair Greenbriar either, just based on the iconic design of the Corvair headlights. These vans, like the VW, were also rear engined, so that whole thing with the rear doors comes into play again. There's no way an engine could have been mounted there.
The closest thing to The Mystery Machine is the Chevrolet sport vans of the era, but even they aren't quite right. The wheel arches disqualify it immediately, but at least they've got the right straight on front end view. The headlights and parking lights are about right in shape, size and location, but the taillights are way off when looking at the rear of the van.
The Mystery Machine was never meant to be any one particular year, make or model of van, but more like a combination, a very loose combination but a combination nonetheless, of all three of the American manufacturers' products all rolled into one. But the one thing that it in no way even vaguely resembled was a VW... Not even if you squinted your eyes really tight and used every ounce of imagination you could muster.
I have a van like this too
I have thousands of diecast vehicles. 1970's 1980's etc. Looking to get them a good home. Any suggestions?
Nice.
Mystery machine 2.0
from scooby doo🐶
with that type of van and that color, and those wheels it should get Cheech and Chong's dingle balls inside the windshield!!
Like!!!
Puto el que lo lea
I love hotwheels
Just wondering, do you restorations on your own Matchbox only or do you fix people's that write in?
All of these are mine so far. Everyone wants me to work on their cars but I’m trying to get my skill level up some. The van you just watched was my second car ever. Now I have about 40 under my belt and have come a long way!
How do you handle cleanup and disposal on aircraft stripper? I've only used it once and it was a nasty/scary experience.
Good
Please, if you can help me, The Super Glue JELL...where do you get that from. I have been searching and searching but have no luck...can you please advise me. Thank you. Awesome work on the Van by the way. Love it...really brings back childhood memories :-)
You can get it at walmart, or any hardware store pretty much. or Amazon if you have to.
I have a 2011 skittles van too
Hot wheels yeah.
Awesome
