I honestly think Steve is up there with Edwin & Aitken in the level of legends in BMX. a true pioneer during his time. Love to see new footage and Animal still backing him up.
Edwin is a cool guy. Me, Wiz, Ed, and Vic (if you know, you know who Vic is) went to a Zero video premiere that was in Wiz and my hometown because it was the closest big theater to Chris Cole who grew up nearby. I was starstruck seeing Jaime Thomas. Bam had to come in a back door. Lol I remember Ed winning Viva La Revolution in Binghamton in NY. He killed it with ground maneuvers. Ruben Alcantara was killing it, Dave Friemuth (sic?) Did a nose pick on an inch of metal on the wall. But Ed was definitely the most consistent rider. It's on UA-cam. I got clips on there too.
His approach to riding in Road Fools 11 & 12, Can I Eat? and Trafaelo was so unique and different to everyone else at the time. He was totally going against the grain. His contribution and influence in BMX is undeniable. Timeless.
I live near Steve and he has always been a super cool down to earth guy, very unique to say the least but it’s literally amazing how long he has been in the game and is still kicking ass in ways nobody could have imagined. He rides at rays mtb Cleveland Ohio every once an a while you can catch him there shooting crazy untouched gaps
So, I completely agree about his style, and and agree on him being a legend both for his old parts, and for coming back and continuing a truly unique expression of bmx after some hard times. But... there are riders like Gary Young... Cory Martinez... who didn't take a break for the time Steven did. So I'd say there are more prolific riders, but Steven's peaks were the pinnacle of BMX at the time, and they hold up years later. All respect from over here.
Geez, Wiz should have put some of my Skate stuff in my video parts. Resist 2 came out only 20 years late...but it's out! Kinda...bonus sections after Resist 1. On DVD. Get it now while it exists. R.I.P Luke Schudlick. A shining star whom shone so bright, he burned out quicker. God bless him. No one went higher of an 8 ft ramp. Manuals up quarters to fufanu the rail. He was back into BMX towards the end. So, atleast there is that.

That tire slide feeble down that huge stair set is what I remember.
Damn I'm old I remember when road fools came out in 98 I 🤔
I don't think anyone has had more clips than teven over the last 2 decades. Such a prolific legend. And with the best style!

@@scottmcgill6795 Mid 2000s best era of bmx.
That was the most laid back, relaxed manual I ever saw at 0:20!🤟
On a Federal Faction (Brian Tunney Sig) frame, with the Hamilton touch, a laidback Primo Rod seat post. MATE! This is freestyle.
he is real legend
This is one of his all time best! And considering the years of riding behind this video it makes it even more magnificent.
