Chamonix, remontée de la mer de glace jusqu'aux séracs du géant, chat de l'aiguille à l'aiguille de la République, salut au refuge du couvercle et pleins gazs pour grimper le Whymper jusqu'à l'aiguille verte, descente du Couturier sur le dos et reprise main gauche par le Nant blanc. Tonneaux en directions des grandes Jorasses, puis retour en vallée par la brêche Caïman Fou. Petit frisson au passage aux randonneurs de plan de l'aiguille...

Quelle machine utilises-tu pour obtenir ce rendu de manière fluide ?
Il faut que j'essaie d'obtenir ça sur ma machine. Je me demande si X-Plane fonctionne avec le casque HTC Vive, je viens d'en commander un et avec ta vidéo ça donne vraiment envie !
Les tuiles photos sont en fait moins gourmandes en ressources que les
tuiles landclass. Dans une autre video de Cham en hélico je montre qu'il
est possible de se faire plaisir avec 500Mb de Vram seulement. J'ai une
GTX 970 4Gb Vram (avec i7 et 8Gb de RAM à côté), mais là elle n'était
en rien mise à l'épreuve.

J'ai actuellement un i5 2500K à 4,2 GHz, je ne sais pas si je pourrais obtenir ton rendu ! Je me tate pour passer à un i7 6700K, mais je ne sais pas si ça vaut vraiment le coup.
Quel dommage que X-Plane ne fonctionne pas sur le HTC Vive, ton vol en réalité virtuelle ça serait magique :)
Certains utilisent Flyinside depuis peu (Oculus 1) avec X-Plane. C'est tentant

Hi, currently I am using photorealistic tiles from Sim Heaven and from zonephoto.x-plane.fr. But I have the idea that Ortho4xp is the 'new way to go' for now (?). Ortho4xp downloads the tiles you want, right? It's not streaming the tiles during your flight which requires continue internet connection, right? I hope you can help me forward so I can make a decision to delete all Sim Heaven and zonephoto.x-plane tiles or not and go for Ortho4xp or not.

Dear FS Steven. Yes it does download the textures, it actually builds the tiles from scratch and has a number of options which you will discover.
It is not meant to be a replacement for zonephoto-x-plane.fr, some people will
always prefer the click and download option, and it is not impossible that ZonePhoto tiles will some day be built using Ortho4XP. One of the key point of
Ortho4XP is that the zoomlevel can be configured at your will on a per region basis, this is good when you build your own tile but leads to a difficult choice when you want to build a tile for others to download!
Maybe the easiest way for you to get started with it is to go to www.x-plane.fr, there's a topic on it and you'll get support from french users (the forum is supposed to be french speaking but if you say hello in french you can presumably go along in english).
Keep also in mind also that Ortho4XP is still in development.
