I like the fact you don’t see these as often so you stand out more driving this flagship sedan. I always tend to buy the cars not sold as much for that reason. Not because theyre bad cars just everyone buys the same models.
I just bought this car last week, but with Advanced package, climate package and Polestar Engineered tuning. It is truly impressive! This car has genuinely exceeded my expectations and couldn’t be happier with it. You guys nailed this review! Excellent job. The supercharger whine does put a smile on my face too 😁
Loved this car when it first came out. I've sat in one a few times at auto shows & looks more stunning in person especially with the beige interior with wood. I wish Volvo would start bring back six-cylinder engines though.

Test drive, I was hoping you guys were gonna stop at the Dairy Queen, for ice cream. Then you could have said that the seats were easily cleaned. ( Ok I wanted ice cream while watching this) lol.

Volvo is one of the best European brands, best or equal with luxury german brands. These nordic people are serious, and they make excellent cars. Thanks for this special video of the Volvo S90.
Mohamed Ali Hebboul I like Volvo's but I'm scared that because they're Chinese owned that the quality will suffer.
@@Drmdunn do not worry mate, just because the owner now is chinese doenst mean the quality will be different, they are still using engineers and people from Sweden mainly, and the only car that is build in China is S90, all the rest models are produced in Sweden, Belgium, USA

Wow, you can go bowling in that backseat. Interesting console setup with the physical home button like a giant cell phone. Those center air vents are huge! Still scratching my head over the twist to start. Great video gents!

Volvo is doing good work in terms of exterior and interior design!!! Material's quality is one level up.
And yes S90 is better compare to some of the German rivals.

Imo not as good in the rear for the sedans.
Not close as far as driving dynamics are concerned. Jag XF is even better.

Drew, and Mason are KILLING it! The pieces you guys are getting and the presentation is TOPS! I am with you Drew on those Volvo Seats. I like Speedo on the right side and Tach on the left side of the cluster. Mason was so excited to show the rear seat features he forgot to lower the center arm rest and show us storage and cup holders??? I priced this out and this R Design with these features best price is only $52K. If you had to choose would you pick the sedan, or the wagon??? I am torn but leaning towards the wagon, and the rear design is better.
gene978 the wagon (V90) is NOT on the same long wheelbase (stretched) platform as the sedan, so it doesn’t have nearly the same amount of rear-legroom. It is beautiful though!
Wesley Walls Thank you, I was asking a question I wasn’t comparing them. If I were comparing I would of mentioned how much more cargo room you get in the wagon for the money and how the wagon can be had cheaper. :)

As always I love the way you both review and honestly I agree with your opinions!! I was just curious how the car looks at night with all the ambient lighting and what not these days?
Man they really fooled me with the engine sound. It sounded like a V6 on the first run up. I wish y’all could experience an I5 engine in a Volvo-it sounds a lot like the 80’s and 90’s Audis I like so much. Also the I6 that was used in the early S80 was a nice engine as well. I heard the blower for the first time when y’all put it in Dynamic. If I was after one, I’d choose the air suspension, because with headphones on I hear a lot of road noise from an otherwise quiet platform. I’ve started wondering with as much road noise we hear on new cars, how much of it is related to using cheap/inappropriate tires. I put some BF Goodrich Advantage T/A’s on my CX-9, and interior noise has been reduced by 50%, vs OEM Falken Ziex summer tires. Thanks for another great review.
That's an interesting point about tires that most people don't think about! Also I wish 5 cylinders were more common these days because they have a lot of cool character!

I think Volvo is really on top of their game with their safety features and technology and I can't get over how roomy the back seat is! For you Drew, that Adidas shirt is off the chain man!
Just picked up my 2021 Inscription today. My god the backseat is huge! My kids are 6ft2inches tall and they were both sitting back there on the way home from the dealer. It was hilarious, more room than the XC90 we turned in. And almost 1,000 pounds heavier than Jaguar, BMW 5, Audi, Mercedes E so super safe + plus my 250lbs lol

No one beats Volvo for seat design and comfort. The S90 seems a great value, but would lean towards a lease given the historic long term reliability concerns. I would not be surprised to start seeing these as executive car service fleet vehicles.

i miss the sound of the 5 cylinder volvo engines! my s60 has a 2.0 turbo 5 cylinder petrol engine my old one was a 2.4t they both sound amazing! im in the process of modding my 2.0t bigger k04 turbo from a k04-13 to a ko4-19 bigger intercooler vxr injectors a cold air inake a hybrid blow off valve a catless exhaust 3" hoping to hit the 300hp mark if the engine doesnt last long it wont matter as ihave a 2.5t engine sitting in a garage they are modular engines so identical on rhe outside just different internals so a str8 swap
Man I love how this looks but how is Volvo reliability I'm looking to buy an AWD sedan with room for a 3 year old and 5 year old and that will give me a good 4 or 5 years

I don't know which mic was recording the audio during the drive but the interior sounded noisy, the engine, tire noise and that turn signal sounds loud. Is that from the camera on the roof? Or was the shotgun mic's pickup to high?
Our mic does exaggerate road noise when we are on a less than perfect road surface, but the setup is the same as in our other videos 🤔
Car Confections I mention this as I notice in the Maxima and K5 you measured the sound level at around 40 - 50 mph and the Volvo at, what seemed like @ 35mph. Prior Volvo’s (2016 and up) I drove weren’t as quiet as one would think. Last years S60 R Design I drove was the quietest of the batch. They might have started to add back in some more sound abating material as they can get more economy from the engines. One of the reason I opted not to go Volvo at the time, was due to the noise level being too high for a luxury car.
That gauge cluster frame lag is inexcusable at that price point in 2020.
Funny Joke I own an S90. There is no “frame lag” in the gauge cluster.
What pisses me off the most is the tail light in dictator why can’t Volvo do led tail lights!

The car is a lease - I wouldn't buy. This engine is too mechanically complex to drive/own out of warranty.
All luxury cars are a lease only IMO except for Lexus.

The rear in the S60 and S90 just so unattractive (and have always been). Re-design it and they will sell like hotcakes.
funny thing , its a split opinion , i bought mine for the whole exterior , i especially liked the rear , i somehow has the character , in summary , older people really prefer the volvo look way more than the redesigned e class while the younger guys 25 and lower , liked merc , and didn't liked my volvos back , funny its so diverse

PLEH!! Hate that volvo for being an Endless money pit... Id buy the lexus es cuz it shows how its handcrafted with precision.... or if the lincoln navigator has a genuine ford diesel engine that has been perfected to my strict standards, id opt for that.

How? This S90 is way cheaper (like 20k) than E class, 5 series, and A6 while still offering comparable technology, comfort, and safety. It's also bigger than all of those. More similar in size to S class
