Real talk: I both teared up and got goosebumps during the transition to the faster part of the title screen track. This is DELIGHTFUL!!! And it does my soul good to know serious musicians took time to do creative takes on this music. So good!!! Thank you!

So, I wonder how many of these musicians actually grew up in the late 80s & early 90s playing Mega Man 2 & 3 as kids?! If so it must be an epic experience for them playing this live in front of a crowd!
I discovered Megaman very late. Never played it until he was announced for Smash Bros 4. Tried 2 in VC and now playing the entire Legacy Collections. Even without childhood nostalgia I realize these games have the best soundtrack in the videogames industry. It's just that good, and the games are incredibly fun for being from the 8-bit era.
That’s crazy we almost have the same story. Mega Mans reveal trailer looked cool as shit and I wanted to try his games out so I tried megaman 2 on the game boy from virtual console, and then eventually the first legacy collection on 3DS now I am a huge fan of the series and its soundtracks and it rocks
Haha music alone - hasn't put a smile on my face that much for ages. Incredible to think now I'm familiar with most of the songs for playing original Game Boy version of Megaman 3 at the back of my parents' car - now havin' a walk outside what... around 20-25 years later hearing the same themes on Internet treated as great pieces of instrumental music making me very happy during pretty mediocre day. Life is full of surprises.
I like to go against every boss in every mega man with just the buster (including X, aside from the PS2 games because I really haven't played much of those except a tiny bit of MMX7)
MM3 is the one OST that I can hum the entirety of without hearing it. I used to think that was because MM3 was the only Mega Man game I owned as a kid, but the more I hear from people in the community, the more I realize I was just lucky enough to have been able to grow up with the best of the series.
it's always a sight to see harmonic orchestra goes with the times of playing masterpieces that certain groups of people would appreciate. At the same time, any song could be beautifully played in orchestra. certain renditions and adaptations would actually come out really great... like this!
Gonna be honest here, I cried during the intro section. Mega man will always have such a special place in my heart. Edit: I love the fact that you can tell the director is a Mega man fan and is enjoying himself so much lol
For some reason, the one added extra note in Dr. Wily’s theme causes tears to flow. And my heart to ache. I’ve listened to it several times and it never fails. In case you’re curious, it’s at 7:36
Mega Man was an important part of my late childhood and early years, and listening to this was like a stream of good memories coming back. Thanks for uploading this! (: BTW, Spark Man Stage reminds me of the Angry Birds main theme, specifically 5:15 to 5:25.
I've said it before on other videos, but this is pure art. Anyone who still says video games can't be art are plain wrong, and performances like this prove that video games have _always_ been art.
This is the best symphony version of Mega Man music I've heard. This is only the second one I've heard so it has an edge over the Sweedish take. That edge comes from incorporating more instruments that better captures and fills out the songs. Of course this is probably something the Sweeds were unable to do because of the size of the orchestra and the venue. The Sweedish approach seemed to be a more traditional in the sense that they used different instruments to play pieces of the song to create a build up and brought it all together in certain spots whereas this group is playing the whole songs as a group capturing more of the sounds from the 8 bit versions and its more familar.
I feel it's a source of secret exhilaration when there's a piece like this that requires an orchestral percussionist to "get on the kit." They are all such talented, versatile performers, and don't get a lot of credit for it. But music like this requires so much driving rhythm that it wouldn't have been the same without that guy on drums, especially the sweeping MM2 overture.

This video let you understand how much work and talent there is behind the soundtrack of the great Megaman Nes saga

I come back to this one the most, it's sooo good. Especially the Gemini Man part
Fucking brilliant to make Gemini Man's theme into a Bossa nova style beat.
Haha music alone - hasn't put a smile on my face that much for ages.

Coming out the gate hot with woodman after the intro. Spicy take. We’ll see how well they fare against the boss having not beaten metal man yet.

If I didn’t know they were performing Mega Man music, I’d seriously think it was from a Star Trek movie. Excellent rendition!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Mega Man 3 soundtrack throughout is the best soundtrack on the 8 bit.. Fantastic.. Haven't played it in 20 years and can still hear all the stages..
That's the power of a really good game. Especially one with such iconic music as Mega Man.

That note somehow makes the song sound even more Japanese, in a good way
I instantly knew what you were talking about before I even checked the stamp. It’s a very powerful note!!
That's my favorite section of the song.
Just goes to demonstrate how powerful a single note can be. I got that sad feeling as well.
