Absolutely insane! I have to go through this 15 step procedure (requiring me to watch this 9 minute UA-cam video) every time there is a 5 second power outage at my house - necessitating a reset of the timer. Whoever thought this up must've decided to make this the LEAST user-friendly system on the planet! 🤬🤬🤬🤬
Me again. I wish I had read these reviews before buying this timer as there are other manufacturers which are vastly superior. I still can’t believe how much time I wasted trying to follow those inane instructions. Thank you Justin James for providing an alternative link - I finally set up the timer in under 5 min! This company should pay you.
This has to be the absolute worst programmable switch ever, you should not have to watch an 8 minute step by step video on a simple on-off operation....
Great programmable switch! Easy to use. Don't like “smart” Wi-Fi/Bluetooth switches all over the house and don't want to overload my wireless network with light switches. Issue with installation: if backlight & LED doesn't turn on, you might have the black/red wires to swap instead of just the neutral wire possibly giving you a problem; follow instructions carefully.
I purchased a new home that had this installed. I replaced the backyard light with a motion sensors camera but I can’t figure out how to remove the timer so it always shuts off. How do I keep it on at all times
Thank you that was helpful I thought you could only select on or off in one event thought it changed to the standard setting because I selected the same time lol but seeing the video makes it clear It's on and off in one event
Mine is a lot older than this model, probably installed about 30 years ago. I remember it was very hard to program, using only the one button that turns the light circuit on and off and a very small mechanical switch hidden on the side of it. No one seems to have instructions for programming it anymore...
Your vedio is the best , This sw is very confusing , Do we need to go to Sn Dn and Sun uo to turn the lite off. Leviton should make the terms simple, On time --Off time , I never come acroos any thing more confusing than this, Please add add to your video, how to set light on, and then how to turn off the lights. Like off set time , say my time is 4.30 pm to 7.00 am , what will one hour off do , make it 3.30 pm to 8,00 am. Thanks again your video is the best over all
Thank you. We have had a Leviton for a few years. Yesterday we noticed that the light was not coming on and the screen on the unit is completely blank (black). Is it now now longer functional or is there anything we can do? Thanks.
Help me understand the Offset Time instructions. Which offset setting causes the timer to come on later at Sundown (and then shutoff earlier at Sunup), "adding time" with the UP arrow, or "subtracting time" with the DOWN arrow? I simply do not understand what Leviton means with the add/subtract words they use in the instructions. Thanks
Hi, are we able to just program an auto off time? I don’t want to set an auto on time, I’d like to just manually turn on the light, but if I forget to turn off the light by 11pm, I’d like to set a an off event at that time.
My house has this controller applied to a heated towel rack. It is virtually impossible to quickly and positively establish OFF mode. Might have failed, and not in "fail safe" mode. I'd be more comfortable if this were, instead, a low voltage lighting circuit, but instead it is too hot to touch heat.
Wish there was a way to use offset to have the lights come on, say 30 mins AFTER sunset and program the lights to shut off 30 mins BEFORE sunrise and not after for both sunrise and sunset
Whoa! I just wanted my ceiling fan to come on! I have a computer if I want a challenge. Mine is only a switch to turn on ceiling fan in bathroom (I thought).
I have two of these switches, after a power outage one of them stops working even when my emergency generator kicks in after about 10 seconds and has to be reset
Everyone’s a critic. 1 square inch and 4 buttons to automatically turn on and off your lights based on your latitude and longitude. What does make u happy? anything?
Definitely worst timer switch ever. I’m pretty technically savvy. I work with computers and programmable automated equipment every day. This brutal thing takes me 20 minutes to program using an iPad running the attached video, a headlamp, my glasses, a second device to look up lat and long, and a short stool so I can sit comfortably and see under the lifted switch door flap. The programming steps are not intuitive, so following the video is required. My switch actually goes unprogrammed for weeks after every power failure because I hate programming it so much! I can’t see the average person (remember the incorrect blinking time on your ancient VCR or microwave) successfully using this. Such a bad design all around. It would be a huge improvement if the flap opened downward so you didn’t need to be on your knees below the thing to look upwards to program it. It’s just brutal. Return it now! You have been warned!
@@kellenstuart4698 , actually, I had a wiring problem that I thought might be solved watching this. The interface is very straightforward (and great for < 2 in²).
Tried to follow the instructions here to set the timer to turn on at sundown and off at sunup. Don't! Watch this: ua-cam.com/video/aJm-Qj20zIw/v-deo.html
What a god send! Justin you are a saint! After a very frustrating hour trying to understand these inadequate instructions - I red your review and clicked the link you recommended - bingo!! 5 min later my lights were working perfectly. Thanks.

Video *with ads* 🤪 here I am after our first 5min electrical outage since I set this thing up.

God this is a life saver. This device is very hard to use intuitively with limited buttons.
Genuinely hate how complex these are

If there is a power outage do you have to start all over again???

I have 2 of these and no manual…I hope this works. I wish there was a separate “Pro” model instructions video as there is for the “standard” model.
So since I’m in CA this will automatically turn off after 6hrs? What if I want it to stay on longer?

My light keeps turning on. Problem is I’m not sure if it’s my setup mistake or faulty switch. It’s like that up until today since initial purchase.

I’m having difficulty following the video for my PRO unit to set up the sun up. And sun down process. Can someone help please?
Very nice step by step video for pro mode programming!
No way to erase one of the programs? I programmed one by accident and cannot simply erase it?

How can it be more difficulté to follow ?
what to do with negative longitude?
Don’t use negative just put the number they said
Who knows how to apply Event to the switch
A 9 minute video to program a simple "On-off"...Thankfully my alarm clock takes 5 seconds to set.
Does the 24 hour timer change automatically when daylight savings time ends? Or do we have to adjust the timer?
I found this one that explain how to set for daylight savings ua-cam.com/video/aJm-Qj20zIw/v-deo.html
Depuis que j’ai mis l’interrupteur l’intensité de la lumière a baisser. Quelqu’un sait pourquoi ou comment la régler?? Merci

U can, it’s explained in the video. Offset time. U can go negative to start it before sunset and after sunrise

Makes sense.
Exactly, am and pm markings are wrong!
How to disable it?
Appalling instructions - ridiculously complex and non-intuitive. Who cares about 49 combinations when all you want is a simple “on” “off” switch?
the designers must think everyone is an engineer . Terrible complicate to use

@@justinporter6132 For start what is a difference between a Mom or Wed sunset? Totally unnecessary. No CX no UX used :)
this item works perfectly wow i love it thank you for the instruction )))
Holy moly is this the least intuitive timer in the entire world. There is no reason it should be so confusing!
This is an absolute nightmare to program and no instructions on how to delete events without resetting the entire system.
i dont get the “mode on mine
Perfect! Thank you!
i hate these so called programmable switches when NOTHING MATCHES THE INSTRUCTION MANUALS!
how do i program a switch to be motion sensitive?
Extremely frustrated setting this timer up and the instructions are so complicated! 🙄
Great video .
Now explain how to choose the different events you have set since that’s absolutely NOWHERE to be found and nothing I’ve tried works. 🙄
Still hard to use! Wish they had chat!
Can this hook up to WiFi?
This is like 80”s programming
It's 1×2" in size!
This device has one of the most complicated user interfaces ever designed for a consumer product. Epic fail = 1/10 😢

I'm returning mine. Very clunky, complicated to have to install and program. Can't waste my time.

Thanks for your ideas tho
El vídeo lo quiero en español x favor
Horrible designed product, these do not need to be so complicated
Instructions are not much better
You guys should just make a phone app
Not everyone wants a phone app to control the timing of a light switch. This is much more straightforward.
@@sovereignty14 UI to program could be more simple on a phone. The fact you're watching this video proves my point.

Nothing works. So far it’s garbage. The wifi ones are half the price so probably going to go with that one
Not every switch needs the Internet!
The most annoying thing i ever bought is this switch.
