This might be helpful. I hope so. In Jewish tradition Leah and Racheal were identical twins. Therefore, their physical exteriors were almost exactly the same. One of the differences between them was that Leah had poor eyesight. If the cheder was dark in order to enhance the romance and intimacy, Jacob possibly would not have thought anything of it that Leah couldn't see very well. Also, the girls being twins and it being dark, Jacob probably wouldn't have been able to tell them apart. Shalom.
I love this! I was listening to Elon Musk ex wife try and explain his nature and one of the things she said was, paraphrase…not everything in the darkness is evil. There are things there that have to be brought out INTO the light so that what has potential to be good can be seen. Genesis 1 “The earth was without form, and void; and DARKNESS was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.” Genesis 1:2 The Spirit of God cannot dwell with SPIRITUAL darkness and the darkness in Genesis 1:2, was a heaviness so when He said let there be light, He brought what was hidden to light. Good was brought out of darkness. Also Bill said “there is an intimacy in that darkness”, I believe the intimacy is for those who trust in Abba. And it’s a beautiful place!
