I love how you visualize how to work and what is happening, so the beginner understands and can follow. I am not at this beginner stage anymore, but can only imagine how useful it might be.
Since I know the Tkinter in the basic level I think your courses like creating gui for real-world app like calculator will be helpful to improve my knowledge of Tkinter, thanks a lot for very helpful tutorials and keep doing it please...
Recently I had 2 separate udemy courses for python , they were great but I was missing something , and now today when I hit this channel , I have seen 5-6 videos in row and I am not stopping. This guy is amazing to describe things and This is the best video course I have seen about python, period.
thank you for the clear explanation of all the terms. I'm beginning to program in Python and have never made a GUI before, but need to make a few GUIs to do a selection process and then open files.
Coming from C++(Advanced by course standards, beginner real world) with zero Python experience, this is pretty easy to follow along with. Kudos to you sir, liked and subbed.
finally a lesson I could understand! YOU'RE A LIFE SAVER!!! I've been trying to learn python for my course and every single tutorial in yt only seem to confuse me, but not this one. I am a first year college student from the Philippines, majoring in information technology. I am really thankful that your tutorials exists.
Love finding these a few years after they start. The man says "this is going to be a series of videos"... looks at 255 video playlist... Guess he was right.
Ha! Yeah it got a little out of hand...and after 255 I switched to a brand new UA-cam Channel www.youtube.com/@TkinterPython that just does Tkinter...there's another 50-60 videos there and growing!
I am unsure if I have ever commented on UA-cam but I had to here. This was really useful, insightful and you have made it easy and very fun to learn...hopefully this is the catalyst to my learning and development after multiple struggles getting into the swing of things this last year. Definitely subscribing to this mate!
I joined the site :) I am hyped to learn how to do GUI stuff. I haven't messed with coding for a while I did like VB back in the day. I did not care for C++. Python looks so good.
@@Codemycom what is the theme you are using? I got the colors but not sure if you used a theme then made your own changes to it. If you don't have a video on it maybe you should make one 😀
I immediately noticed went to the last time of the video to see the result. Maybe that could be a great thing to implement, to show the result in the beginning and afterwards show to build it
tkinter, I believe, has its roots in the Tcl/Tk worlrd from UNIX/LINUX. TCL = Tool Control Language and TK = Tool Kit. From Wikipedia: The Tcl programming language was created in the spring of 1988 by John Ousterhout
It would be really helpful to show a brief overview of the finished product before going into the tutorial so we can see if it is what we want to learn
@@Codemycom Man, I feel ya but its like a scavenger hunt to find even a visual of what the UI/end result, will look like and do. Maybe going to the last video would be smart but when scouring search results for something I'm looking for, I normally just go to another tutorial (in my search results) after trying to scroll through thumbnails on 3 or so of your videos with no luck.. Just a suggestion from a sub. but also something I think would greatly improve your views and watch time, bc personally I would watch every second of your videos if I knew right off the bat what I would be building ... Thanks for taking the time to respond and please take this as feedback and not criticism
Do you have a course/vid that shows how to create a quiz / test application? I'm struggling in trying to figure out how to only show one question at a time, select the right answer, then hit next to have it go to the next question.
Five years later, this is still a useful video series. However, it would really help if you specified your Python version, so I'd know what not to expect to work. Unsurprisingly, today I use Python3. I'm guessing, from syntax failures as I copy your code now from a later stage of your course (calculator), that you're using Python2. On that basis, the first step in my debugging is searching for a Python3 change in Lambda syntax, but it's still just a beginner's guess.
I use Python 3 in this series, there should be...and are...no errors whatsoever do to version changes. I've never used Python 2...if you're getting errors, you're doing something wrong in the copying.
Is there any chance we can do a wxpython series? From my little understanding, wxpython has the capability to use Microsoft Active Accessibility to access information from other Windows App/UI, which is super valuable to extract information from other Apps.
Thankyou! GREAT VIDEO! I am new to python. Is there any advantage to running a standalone PowerShell vs an IDE like PyCharm where the terminal is integrated?
I am enjoying your tutorials very much thankyou! My question is, can you advise me how to setup Pycharm with the same colour scheme as yours? I am on Windows 10.
No, I recommend that you not use pycharm. I use the free sublime text editor and free git bash terminal. As you can see from my hundreds of videos, they work perfectly.
Thanks heisenberg.
