my 3 months x-ray on a severely comminuted mid tibia fracture due to 9mm bullet wound showed no progress... should I plan for a non-union? Or is there hope that by 6 months I'll be healing and maybe it's a delayed union? I don't feel like my local doctors are talking about any of this stuff.
I had an avulsion fracture (anterior process calcaneus) 8 weeks ago and my x ray yesterday showed no progress :( the orthopaedist told me it can heal or not but it doesn’t matter cause the fracture is so small and I better focus on healing the ligaments 😳😳 I am so worried cause I don’t want to have a bone that is not healed. I was wearing CAM boot for over 6 weeks :(
I had two surgeries on my tibia. Skiing accident, with a slight radial twist fracture. I discovered I had a union after I was told it was healed. While on the treadmill the plate eventually got weak and broke. Fast forward had my second surgery this time I went to HSS. There was a c reactive protein in my blood work, I brought up as a metabolic issues, but they went ahead and did a bone graph and two fixations. Fast forward 18 months later. I started to feel pain in my leg again like I had before with the non union. I cannot go back to HSS because I changed insurance, and hospitals wont take me as a new patient since we have the immigrant crisis here. Im stuck at home trying to figure out why my tibia is not healing. I eat healthy, wild caught salmon and dark leafy greens every day. I take vit D. I do not take calcium as I have kidney stones.
Amazing presententation. Thanks so much. Is there a way to communicate with any of the presenters incase someone from any part of the world has an interesting case they would like to have input from the presenters.
Great webinar, learned a lot from this, will be measuring RABG routinely now, thanks!
😊
Excellent cases for discussion…..in the last X-ray I think the screws in plate….proximal to the fracture Site broke….

how about using PTH analog in these? some good evidence on it, depite its expense.
