    0:17 The first number retired in any sport was the Toronto Maple Leafs retiring Ace Bailey's number 6 in 1934.

    For the Marlins, you could’ve easily chosen Jose Fernandez. A rising superstar that stole the hearts of Marlins fans that was lost too soon. Still makes me sad that they haven’t retired his number in his honor. (Coming from a Rangers fan)

      They probably would have if his death wasn’t surrounded by some very shady circumstances

    Utley deserves to have his number retired. Same goes for Howard and Rollins (possibly Victorino).

    For the Astros there might be another who makes it before Altuve that being Billy Wagner. Why well at least when they set up their hall of fame they basically said if the player makes it to the baseball hall of fame and spent a decent amount of time with the Astros then they would retire their number. Billy Wagner has one of those covered as he hasn't made it to the hall yet but he is very close as he is often considered the second best closer of all time (of course behind Mo) also if he did make the hall the Astros would probably be the team he would represent because he spent the longest with them as the rest of his career he bounced from team to team on a few year closer deals. Also another could be Justin Verlander but of course 27 will be retired after Altuve retires.

    Is Jeter's number retired? If not, I feel his would be, before A Rods. No disrepect to A Rod, but Jeter spent his entire career there. Maybe Mariano Rivera before both of them, as one of the best relievers of all time. NYY is really hard to pick.

      Yes

      @LordWafflestomp Рік тому +1

      I mean, technically, Mariano Rivera's number is already retired since he wore 42 and was the only player allowed to wear it until he retired.

      @darkwulf2k I know some teams have the same number retired in honor of multiple people, so it's still not outta the question to happen though 😅

    If there are more than one RBI, it is called RBIs you don’t say this player got the 100 RBI instead you would say this player got 100 RBIs because there are multiple please learn
