Love this series, except the Hornets and Pelicans teams. The league itself considers the original Charlotte Hornets & Charlotte Bobcats/Hornets to be one continuous franchise that had a short period of inactivity, and the New Orleans/OKC Hornets/New Orleans Pelicans to be its own separate continuous franchise. That’s how these all-time teams should have been put together as well.
The 88-02 Hornets are the same as the current day Hornets. When they got the name back, they got the history back. There's a reason why the 88-02 Hornets are counted as part of Hornets history
This is a scary good team. They don't really have weaknesses. They got explosiveness, 3 point shooting, facilitating, spacing, all time great defense at their respective positions aside from maybe SG and they have big bodies left and right. The one weakness is health but if everyone's healthy i can see this team sneaking into the top 4 in the west. Wouldn't surprise me at all

Johnny ways seems more accurate since the team that actually moved to New Orleans was the Hornets. This is just an attempt to rewrite history? Like if a new team is created in Seattle NBA would remove sonics history from the Thunder but this is not how it happened.
@@freesgenit’s not tho. That’s not what happened. The hornets didn’t relocate. They rebranded to the bobcats and the new team was the Nola hornets. Not the other way around .
@@freesgen Johnny isn't accurate at all. When MJ did the rebrand back to the Hornets in 2014, he purchased all the Charlotte history along with the name. The NBA history book reads 1988-2002 & 2004-present. All New Orleans history stayed with the Pelicans. Plus almost none of the pre-relocation players he added played a game in a NO uniform. And yes the NBA has standing deal with OKC that all pre-2008 history will be returned to Seattle once the Supersonics are reborn.

Great video, Jonny :). I agree that Paul is one of the best PGs ever. He and Rice would be such a great backcourt. I also concur that with Peja joining them, they'd be a tough trio to defend. This team has some of the best shooting among its starting 5. Davis is great too (and I remember how he was able to join the USA Basketball Team before he played in the NBA). He and Zo would be an excellent frontcourt. The Pelicans have a solid starting 5. Shooting, defense, spacing, rebounding, etc. - They have a lot of strengths. I remember Baron Davis too. I agree that he would be a solid player coming off the bench (hard to imagine him as a bench player too, but it makes sense to start Paul). CJ McCollum and Davis would be a superb backcourt too (and with Ingram there, they'd be so hard to stop and double teaming any of them would be risky). This Hornets team has such good offense too. You balanced out the Pelicans' bench well too - especially with Johnson and Cousins and West (at least offensively). Great analysis and video again :). Have a marvelous rest of the weekend :).

According to the NBA, the original Charlotte Hornets (pre-2002 relocation) and the Charlotte Bobcats/Hornets (post-2004 “expansion”) are the same franchise (2002 to 2004 being seen as “suspending operations”) while the New Orleans Hornets/Pelicans are seen as simply a 2002 expansion team with their history exclusively tied to New Orleans and OKC but not Charlotte. This is per the 2013 agreement between the league, the Pelicans, and the then-Bobcats to settle the name and history debate
I think the proper way to divide the Charlotte Hornets and New Orleans Pelicans debacle is by this way; Charlotte Hornets/Bobcats 1988-2002; 2004-present - Alonzo Mourning era - Glen Rice era - Baron Davis era - Bobcats era - Kemba Walker era - Lamelo Ball era New Orleans Hornets/Pelicans 2002-present - Chris Paul era - Anthony Davis era - Zion Williamson era *even though there was an overlap between the Baron Davis era to NOLA, I think it's better to start the New Orleans history when Chris Paul was drafted to avoid having Baron Davis in both teams when he essentially just played for one - the original Charlotte Hornets, but because of the agreement between the Hornets and Pelicans in 2013, we should respect the agreement between their team's history respectively.
Find it kind of odd that you're going against the grain and deciding not to recognise the Pelicans as a franchise that began play in 2002 and the Hornets as a franchise that took a 2-year hiatus between 2002 and 2004. It's not like there was a huge break between the original Hornets relocating and the Bobcats starting up.
It's hard to see this as a playoff in the competitive west. Lakers, Warriors, Spurs, and Rockets top 4. Kings, Mavericks, Thunder, and Nuggets probably next 4 and the Jazz and Suns round out the top 10. It is better than I expected though. This team has a strong interior with AD, ZO, and Zion, but you can trust of their availabilities? AD is injury prone, ZO is illness prone, and Zion is simply flat out out of shape. (And LJ had a bad back as well.) If they are healthy, they do have strong rim protection defensively and CP3 would be an excellent point guard to pair with them offensively to set them up while also providing scoring of his own and being a great defender himself. Rice is extremely underrated and he and Peja bring the outside shooting to the starting lineup. It's actually a pretty well constructed roster in terms of versatility and completeness. But are they better than any of the top 10 listed above? Dobut it. Especially since you legitimately can't trust the health and availability of their best players. CP3 himself has also had multiple injury issues throughout his career, often at the worst times. No way I can trust roster to stay healthy through an 82 game season.
I know he wasn’t an all star but I think Muggsy needs to be on this roster. Idk maybe I’m biased cuz of how much I like Muggsy but that’s what I think lol. Good vid
Anthony Mason didn't even make honourable mention list. Had his best season with them and was a legit all-star candidate. Plus his defence would have helped this team.
Nice team, nice video... I'd move Brandon Ingram to off guard (better handles & foot speed to go with his light yet athletic body frame) Let Glen Rice play his natural small forward spot, bring Peja Stojakovic off the bench, Larry Johnson can play some small forward as well since this team has a surplus of elite talent players very well suited at the power forward position
You snubbed Eddie Jones bro. Definitely should have been at least an honorable mention. But i would have him on my second unit. And probably monster mash starting instead of Peja. Imo. Great vid tho and either way this a scary team
For people who are confused with the History between The Pelicans and Hornets. Here is the context. The Charlotte Hornets were founded in 1988 As an expansion team along with the Miami Heat. They Did Have some notable Players over the years such as:Larry Johnson, Alonzo Mourning, Glenn Rice, Eddie Jones, Baron Davis and Jamal Mashburn Who played for the original team. In May 2002 The Hornets would relocate to New Orleans Due to low Attendance. To Avoid A Cleveland Browns alike law-suit after The Browns Relocated to Baltimore After The 1995 NFL Season. Charlotte would get a new NBA Team later on. In 2004 The Charlotte Bobcats A new NBA Franchise would Expand the teams to 30 teams in the NBA. In 2005 New Orleans Hornets Relocated To Oklahoma City due to Hurricane Katrina 🌀 😳. And They Was Know as The New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets. However Oklahoma Wouldn't get its own franchise until 2008 When The Seattle Supersonics Would Relocate To Oklahoma City and Became The Oklahoma City Thunder and The Sonics and Thunder still shares the same history. In 2007 The Hornets would fully return back to New Orleans. Now here's when things get mixed up. In 2013 The New Orleans Hornets who were the continuation of The Original Charlotte Hornets would change their name To The New Orleans Pelicans. And Then a Year Later in 2014 The Charlotte Bobcats Would Change their name to The Charlotte Hornets. And The Hornets also made a deal with The Pelicans to reclaim all of their history and highlights of The Original Charlotte Hornets from 1988-2002 And The Hornets time in New Orleans From 2002-2013 Remained With The Pelicans and The New Orleans Pelicans Became an Expansion Team From 2002. And The Charlotte Hornets were now inactive from the 2002-03-2003-04 NBA Seasons. And Then They Returned To The NBA In 2004 as The Charlotte Bobcats since The Hornets term was already used by New Orleans. And That's Pretty Much it of their history.
Not having the future New Orleans players play in Charlotte is more fire for hating how and why the franchise moved. The city loved the team, they hated the owner. I always thought that he should have had to sell the team and get the expansion franchise promised to Charlotte when they left. I guess you missed my comment on the Hornets team, but I corrected you then. Low attendance was a symptom of the problem, hate for the owner was the cause. If they couldn’t support a team, they never would have been awarded the future dumpster fire Bobcat franchise.
So this is what happens when teams aren't allowed to get a fair compensation. You get one team that looks to easily be the worst of the 30 and another one that may prove me wrong about Denver and steal an ultimate playoff spot. It's a shame that Tyson Chandler was snubbed from this team, but that's what happens when you remember, "Oh yeah, he had a 2-time all-star next to him." This team looks like a mish-mash of different directions. Scoring, 2-way, defense, spacing, rim finishers, and post-up. My issue, which may or may not matter in a video game, who knows, is how is this going to be coached. Sometimes having the right plays drawn on CPU can work over and over again with nothing the opposition can do. I'm just not sure if the Pelicans are going to be able to find that and it might cost them down the road. But hey, those are my quick thoughts because I wasn't expecting much of both iterations. See you for the Pistons.
I found it hilarious that you tried to explain the complicated history of the franchise and ultimately found it to be so complicated that you got it wrong. The Charlotte Hornets of old (1988-2002) and Charlotte Hornets (formerly Bobcats) of new (2004 - present) are treated as one and the same. The New Orleans Hornets now Pelicans (2002 - present) including their time in Oklahoma is what you should have based this team around.
You're not wrong, at least in terms of how the NBA, Hornets, and Pelicans see it. Jonny's the best basketball UA-camr there is, but his stance with these teams goes against what they themselves acknowledge/recognize.
Good team that is balanced at each position but kinda lacking in depth and defense but still they can make the playoffs and give their matchup a battle
Really enjoying the series, but such an odd decision to go against the official NBA history and treat old Charlotte vs new Charlotte as separate franchises. There's no way LJ and Mourning are Pelicans!
It's your video so you can naturally pick how you want but the fact is that you are picking them wrong with the Hornets and Pelicans. The current Hornets 'owns' the rights for the history of the former Hornets and Pelicans are just Pelicans, the new New Orleans team. This is a fact and acknowledged by the NBA aswell. So again Jonny is making a massive mistake here like he did with the Hornets. These facts about the history and legacy of the Hornets and Pelicans were explained to him already in the comments of that Hornets video and he still fails or refuses to take notice how the things actually are in real life.
You left off Vlade and Muggsy. He would have been electric coming off the bench with the twin towers of Davis and Alonzo to back him up when he was all over the court going for loose balls and steals. His TO to assist ratio is fantastic. Vlade would’ve thrived in the soft modern NBA.
Exactly. Thank you! It’s called a sweetheart deal and will also hopefully be the case with the OKC Thunder and Seattle SuperSonics when (if) they return to the league.
Would the Ultimate Pelicans/New Orleans Hornets/Oklahoma City Hornets/Some of the Charlotte Hornets make the Ultimate Playoffs?? lol

*even though there was an overlap between the Baron Davis era to NOLA, I think it's better to start the New Orleans history when Chris Paul was drafted to avoid having Baron Davis in both teams when he essentially just played for one - the original Charlotte Hornets, but because of the agreement between the Hornets and Pelicans in 2013, we should respect the agreement between their team's history respectively.
Dang man, ya put together a better 2nd unit than first!
Chandler over Cousins and you've solidified it.
12:00 Dell Curry is such an honorable mention he's on there twice lol
Dell Curry's contributions to the institution of NBA basketball far exceed those of anyone who made your team
I know he wasn’t an all star but I think Muggsy needs to be on this roster. Idk maybe I’m biased cuz of how much I like Muggsy but that’s what I think lol. Good vid
Come on man, show some love for Vlade, he would be a great asset to this team
Over who
Anthony Mason didn't even make honourable mention list. Had his best season with them and was a legit all-star candidate. Plus his defence would have helped this team.
Nice team, nice video...
I'd move Brandon Ingram to off guard (better handles & foot speed to go with his light yet athletic body frame)
Let Glen Rice play his natural small forward spot, bring Peja Stojakovic off the bench, Larry Johnson can play some small forward as well since this team has a surplus of elite talent players very well suited at the power forward position
Before the playoffs add an ultimate practice squad.
Cousins would likely be shifted with Jonas and Zion with Dell or Jamal.
You snubbed Eddie Jones bro. Definitely should have been at least an honorable mention. But i would have him on my second unit. And probably monster mash starting instead of Peja. Imo. Great vid tho and either way this a scary team
My best team is:
PG: Chris Paul
SG: Eddie Jones
SF: Glen Rice
PF: Anthony Davis
C: Mourning
Yes that is a very scary lineup with length, defense, shooting, and great chemistry
For people who are confused with the History between The Pelicans and Hornets. Here is the context.
The Charlotte Hornets were founded in 1988 As an expansion team along with the Miami Heat. They Did Have some notable
Players over the years such as:Larry Johnson, Alonzo Mourning, Glenn Rice, Eddie Jones, Baron Davis and Jamal Mashburn Who played for the original team.
Could have put all the hornets, bobcats, and pelicans together . Still can't compete with some other teams in your league
Tyson not being on it is crazy but there’s a lot of good bigs
First. Great video. Love the series.😊😊
So almost everyone that was on rondo's team that year. That was a star. Made this last except Rondo and maybe you could say Nico Mirco
Pelicans got some great centers AD, CP3, Jrue, Glen Rice Good team.
Great video but to me it just doesn't feel right leaving out Muggsy Bogues. Growing up I was obsessed with him, Larry Johnson and Mourning
I would probably start Ingram over Peja, but I understand it from a fit standpoint to start an all time great catch and shoot guy.
BD over Rondo is wild, but CP and Rondo on the same team is asking for trouble, so I guess I'll give it to you.
Solid lineup, but where is rondo? The backcourt of cp3 and rondo would have been a nightmare for every team, especially themselves
this team excluding cp3 has insane length
It looks like we are all surprised how good this team is...
Still waiting for my raptors though
I feel like this is a solid 7 seed for the Western Conference playoffs
Tf is Peja doing in the Starting 5 😭
Ong bro😭
Because he has chemistry with Chris Paul
Nigga he one of the best shooters ever at 6'8-6'9 fits better than anyone else at the 3 besides glen rice but then what they start bi or ???
I found it hilarious that you tried to explain the complicated history of the franchise and ultimately found it to be so complicated that you got it wrong.
The Charlotte Hornets of old (1988-2002) and Charlotte Hornets (formerly Bobcats) of new (2004 - present) are treated as one and the same.
The New Orleans Hornets now Pelicans (2002 - present) including their time in Oklahoma is what you should have based this team around.
I think Alonzo Mourning and Anthony Davis, Larry Johnson and Zion Williamson have some semblance
I never knew the 90s Hornets were the Pelicans today. I've had it wrong all these year😭
You're not wrong, at least in terms of how the NBA, Hornets, and Pelicans see it. Jonny's the best basketball UA-camr there is, but his stance with these teams goes against what they themselves acknowledge/recognize.
Dell Curry twice. That's how good he was.
make some ultimate teams for deacates from 50's to 2020's :)
Not sure if i would reward Zion with a spot just yet. I may have gone with Tyson Chandler instead but theres no denying Zions massive upside
Not having Muggsy in this list is a crime
okc hornets played more games than zion ever played
Good team that is balanced at each position but kinda lacking in depth and defense but still they can make the playoffs and give their matchup a battle
Muggsy should be on here. As a King's fan, I would never take Cousins. He deserved every T he got. Complete baby.
I got Monster Mash over Peja and Curry over Ingram but thats me. Great series
Curry isn’t better than ingram
Only Steph 😂@@sir.muffiniii7011
@@FlymoufDictionyeah well obviously but I would rather have Ingram over Dell
Zion deserves more than third string surely? I'd go LJ and AD at PF/C to start, with Zion and Zo on the bench. Also no Muggsy is criminal!
Really enjoying the series, but such an odd decision to go against the official NBA history and treat old Charlotte vs new Charlotte as separate franchises. There's no way LJ and Mourning are Pelicans!
Bro gave Dell Curry 2 honorable mentions
Baron Davis is the ultimate dark horse on this roster
It's your video so you can naturally pick how you want but the fact is that you are picking them wrong with the Hornets and Pelicans. The current Hornets 'owns' the rights for the history of the former Hornets and Pelicans are just Pelicans, the new New Orleans team. This is a fact and acknowledged by the NBA aswell.
So again Jonny is making a massive mistake here like he did with the Hornets. These facts about the history and legacy of the Hornets and Pelicans were explained to him already in the comments of that Hornets video and he still fails or refuses to take notice how the things actually are in real life.
ok, this team is kinda stacked. 😯😦
114 wooo!!
A Whopping 75 games for Davis is hilarious
🏀
You mentioned mashburn here but not with dallas bro?
You left off Vlade and Muggsy. He would have been electric coming off the bench with the twin towers of Davis and Alonzo to back him up when he was all over the court going for loose balls and steals. His TO to assist ratio is fantastic. Vlade would’ve thrived in the soft modern NBA.
12:06 Dell Curry is mentioned twice lol
The history isn't complicated at all. It's like the Browns and Ravens.
Exactly. Thank you! It’s called a sweetheart deal and will also hopefully be the case with the OKC Thunder and Seattle SuperSonics when (if) they return to the league.
@@winnesota. The NBA & OKC already have a deal like this in place for when Seattle returns.
@@xfacta334 That’s awesome! Thanks for letting me know.
